1. Nice bit of 'wick history there, not too many BO (non LX) Streamers about
2.
It's turning into a sort of discussion about HPW's skills and know-how... certainly out of topic and not very interesting for me The bass is still available, though. Several offers but it's still here.
I agree and apologise for derailing, I should know better If I don't end up being the buyer, GLWTS!
3. Okay, he certainly built early Warwicks bud, why do you think otherwise, out of interest? Perhaps a conversation for a different thread, but I am curious Hope John doesn't mind, but here is an extract of email sent to him from Hans about Thumb 6 #27... [i]...indeed your Bass is one of the first Thumb NT 6 strings I made by my self.... 4.
As I said, no chance Hans Wilfer had something to do with the build of this bass. He's a businessman, not a luthier by any means. But yeah, I think this is a nice collectors item (and of course a very nice sounding and playing instrument).
Not true, that one. It is quite possible he was involved in making this. He built the other 88 thumb 6 that was sold on here a while ago, had an email from the man himself saying so
5. 9v standard boss type. I believe both drive circuits are fitted with an 18v voltage doubler inside for extra headroom
6.
It's H007 88.
ahhh, birth year thumb alert! There is a chance a bass purchase may fall through, if it does I could well be getting in touch about this!
7. I feel the need to re-iterate that the above rule regarding trade offers in a sales thread very much stands. All trade offers must be made by private message only. Repeat offenders may find their posting rights in the marketplace forums reduced.
8. Lovely bass! But let's keep trade offers to pm only please, folks
9. Another pedal I have literally just picked up, however my Darkglass pedals give me the drive sounds I need and, as amazing as this is, it is overkill for me! You know what this is, guys on Talkbass love it and rave about its versatility. Basically the swiss army knife of drive pedals. Two drive circuits, bass signal is split depending on the frequency set with the crossover control, so allows you to distort the low and high end completely separately. Almost any drive sound can be emulated with this thing, including Darkglass B3K/B7K sounds and wonderful valve type overdrive. http://youtu.be/xItfn5_gxr4 In mint condition and comes with box, manual and some setting examples. He is only selling these direct at the moment AFAIK, you are looking at $299.99 plus ~$30 shipping and another $70-$80 in customs fees, however I am only looking for the bargainous price I paid, £180 shipped in the UK.
10. As if this is back to haunt me! I can't play fretless, I can't play fretless......
11. The Atic comment stopped me from making a bid and taking a road trip. Could have a neck like a banana. Great price if it is in playable condition though!
12.
Any interest in any of those items I listed above?
Keep trade offers to pm please Best overdrive pedal ever made, superb. And by a company run by excellent people too
13.
Ever since you said about the mismatch/colour differences between the body wings on my stage 2, ive noticed it - gave it a good wax and clean yesterday and it isnt as obvious but I think you are actually right now, they arent properly matched. Still sounds huge, and it will sound even better with an OBP-3 installed
To be honest, it is nice to see an SSII with a good bit of figuring! I find Afzelia a little dull normally, your bass is a treat
14. Bought this on a whim only last week to give it a whirl, however I prefer my WMD filter so this will now have to go! Good condition and works perfectly, comes in a MXR Line Driver box, if that sort of thing bothers you! Looking to get back what I paid, so £SOLD shipped in the UK Cheers!
15. Just bought two pedals from this guy, shipped them as soon as was literally possible and arrived in 2 days from Europe, superb stuff! Cheers buddy
16. I really like the quarterround strings! Great first step away from roundwounds
17.
Wouldn't sound like Primus with any bass (unless you are Les) imo!
Well, yes, but I am trying to look at it from a crazy fan type attitude
18. He played this for two months or so, surely doesn't command this kind of price? He has also basically said in his little piece that this bass was only used because it sounded different from his other basses, so you won't sound like primus with this?! Crazy!
19.
2nd on the MXR if Kev doesn't have it?
I'll let you know if I don't get on with it mate
20.
Great price on the MXR, my fave filter!! Si
Indeedio
21. eBay sellers do this to avoid having to pay a listing fee twice. You will often see sellers raising the price of an item to something ridiculous, say £1000 for a guitar pick, so no-one will buy but the listing can stay live. Then, reduce back down when it is back in stock. It is against eBay rules, so report them.
