1. Ahhh, and I was about to offer £10 for a broken pedal
2.
Hi Kev, thanks for the heads up. We're having some problems with Google and the Android App - they won't let us drop the price below 50p. Maybe they are worried about losing their cut. Back issues we have on the Apple Newsstand are now free, but Google seem to be digging their heels in. We're working on it. Nick
In the meantime, I'll steal the girlfriends iPad
3. How do we get these, Nick? Had a look on the Android app and the only option is to buy?
4. Would still love to try a Chunk, not made anymore so chances of having one are slim!
5. The JAN system is superb and I really wouldn't downgrade to a standard unadjustable nut; the bridge and nut setup is on of the Warwick plus points for sure. Buy a Tedur(plastic, basically) Just-A-Nut III and have that fitted? If you have £60 odd spare, the brass Just a Nut III could be yours, too, as fitted to all German top-end Warwicks now If you have to go non-Warwick, please don't put a white nut on!
6. ....and get a second hand SSI
7. One thing that I don't think has been pointed out: I really wouldn't go into this thinking about spending a certain amount. Get down to a bass shop, try as many basses as you can, find basses that you like and basses that you don't, and then and only then look at the prices and see if you can afford to buy new, second hand or neither. Appreciate this wont be possible for harder to find basses, but I think its the best way of finding what you want, not what we think you want
8. 1. I regret most selling a cheap six string, made by Hudson and it was built in the same factory as a Cort Curbow, only this was made of wood with a spalt maple top. Was really, really nice and I can't remember why I sold it. Only £200 odd too.... 2. OLP Musicman copy. Awful bass, side by side with a real Stingray 5 really showed it up as a stinker.
9. T'was, I emailed him before you posted on here and someone was already booked in to try it. Never mind!
10.
Its definitely not something you see everyday, http://rover.ebay.co...&mtid=824&kw=lg
What is unusual? Headless? Fretless? Graphite?
11. Already sold

13. Its a 1990 model
14.
If you went for this one you'd surely win some kin of award for owning every model of Dingwall in the shortest period of time.
Haha
15. pm'd
16. Jeez, Col. I have just decided on a bass route and you put up a price like that. Tempting to say the least!
17.
With Warwicks, are the German made basses the only ones to go for (if you can afford it)? Thanks for your help.
I honestly cannot recall Warwick Germany making short scale instruments, if they did they will be hard to come by, Check out the price of these corvettes from Thomann: http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_short_scale_basses.html
18.
It is indeed Kev, you must've seen for yourself how much of a kick in the b***s that bass was for me. Remember, I had been assured the bass had recently been set up at The Gallery...I doubt anyone could've played it comfortably in the state it was when I recieved it.
I have memory like s**t sometimes, can't even remember if it was you I bought it from? Sucks bud, but personally I would have threw it back at the guy you bought it from! Was it on here? Anyways, you will love that black LX mate, score!!
19.
Saw this ad and thought of you Kev!
20. I have one on order, and is costing me less than the standard version Quite cool that Doug has made them, otherwise no there is no difference apart from a steel front plate.
21.
That's an absolute bargain!! I paid about £700 for the same bass but unfortunately due to a dishonest seller, I found out it had a warped neck which rendered it practically unplayable. I had it fixed but because of the extent of the warp in the neck, it would never return to it's original working condition. It was such a disappointment as it sounded incredible but I was unable to set it up to my preference so I had to sell it on at a big loss. I've had two 4 string versions and again both absolutely fantastic basses, but ultimately I would've loved the 5 string version to have been in much better condition than it was. That is the danger of buying blind sometimes, as Pinball says above, definitely try it out first.
Was that a red streamer LX 5, built in 2000? I had one with a warped neck, bought and sold at £400. From what you have said it sounds like it could be, other than your compliments about it; I found it an awful instrument £500 for a LX 5 in good condition is a great deal, pictures and year?
22. And replied. International shipping more than welcome at actual cost price
23.
Nope, I've just double checked and as of 'this moment in time' the OP has not stated that it is resolved to the satisfaction of both parties! However, I have a feeling the thread will be locked because your statement doesn't quite pan out Kev. How can anyone discuss the merits of an ebay seller not following through with a sale WHILST not discussing this incident, it's all about this incident!
You will note my use of the word 'Apparant' I very much hope the OP will return and clarify his final version of events. You may be right about this thread, but i have (perhaps misplaced) faith
24.
'insults' TBH I've heard worse when one of the parties wasn't a BCer... is it a case of differing standards because the person discussed is a BCer. I assume the thread will remain open if the merits of reneging on a deal are further discussed?
The thread will remain open if this does become a discussion about the merits of a eBay seller not following through, and not a continued discussion about one particular incident that has since been resolved to the apparent satisfaction of both parties
