Thanks for suggestions all. Anyone any experience with the Gator Pro-Go guitar bag? Looks nice, priced well and seems to have an interior length of just shy of 43 inches? EDIT: I have since found at least two other internal lengths quoted, one of which is as little as 1003mm, so not inclined to trust this one now...

What are people using? Imagine there are a good few guitar cases that'll do the job but many don't have the neck/body proportions right for obvious reasons. Bass cases just seem a waste of space!

Wait what?? What is it??? It looks like an Indonesian ibanez????
-
Yeah that's what I thought. Interested to see how the others look, but there's not going to be a huge amount to set them apart from the other chinese combustions really, bar the preamp.

Can't tell if this is because of suspected false identity, or something else? Will and BassBros are 100% trustworthy and reliable, and asking to check the bass before handing over money is 100% how any bass shop would do it, they're never going to take a risk on something sight unseen. Though if I was you, you're close enough to Leamington to justify taking the afternoon and going down there, rather than risking couriers or worrying about sending your bass to a stranger.

Haven't been following NAMM a huge amount, no standouts i've seen on socials so far. Reckon that ibby is going to be around the £1,500 mark

That's interesting, definitely against everything I've read about it, that this colour is unique to this run?
-
Yeah they changed the horn at least 2-3 times since that 85 of yours. The older ones felt more ergonomic to me 🙃

Every Thumb NT4 I have owned (5) has not suffered what I consider to be neck dive i.e. the headstock trying to drop below parallel, to the extent where my left arm is doing work to keep it up. Conversely, every NT or BO 5 I have had (admittedly just 2) has had neck dive. I had a BO 5 that I absolutely loved sitting down, but it was unplayable standing.

I'd always recommend trying a Warwick built between 1999 and 2008 in person before handing over money. Dog years for Warwick QC, so many badduns, particularly between 2000 and 2003.

Just looking at the pics released, have they got rid of the nicest (for me) feature, the light reddish wood fretboard?
-
TBF that's a pretty good price in 2023 for a Thumb, shops would have it up for £2k.

Think it's safe to say Bass Direct will have a few of them, probably worth keeping an eye out, or even hitting Mark up now if you're serious about wanting one.

Shame about the stripes, that would have been realllly tasty without those, which are a little distracting. Still, cool bass to own, chinese Dingwalls have gone a bit bonkers price wise, but then again what hasn't...

Musicman USA Sterling Bass 2004 Including UK Postage - *SOLD*
Kev replied to ash's topic in Basses For Sale
These Sterling basses are in such an odd place at the moment, price wise. I presume they're not made anymore and as such their used value doesn't appear to have been hugely inflated by the current EB prices, yet they are absolutely equal (and better in a lot of cases I've seen re woods used) to the Stingray of the time in terms of build quality and RRP. In other words, at 3 figures these are a BARGAIN and a dream for anyone who loved the Musicman sound but prefers the jazz feel. GLWTS. -
Nice work dude! Sounds great, and what a looker too! Must admit, after listening to the intro of the first track, I did have a quick glance at who mixed the track and did a little smile to myself

This may (or may not!) be of any use or help to anyone considering a QC, but last week my band released a single and its the first bit of bass I've recorded and released using solely the Quad Cortex! For this I used two scenes; one a heavily distorted bass heavy track using Darkglass captures, compression and Bergantino IRs, spit across two lanes (distortion on high mids/highs only); second was a modulated chorus tone for the cleans in the verses. Would love to know what you guys think! (goes without saying, listen with decent phones/speakers!)

Beautiful, congrats!!

Warwick Streamer NT1 RB neck thru **NOW £375 FOR QUICK SALE** - *SOLD*

I don't know why Ibanez persist with the chinese licensed Barts, they're terrible things IMO. So dark and lacking any real excitement in the mid or highs, it's no wonder Bartolini gets a bad name when these licensed jobbies are in so many budget instruments (US Barts are a completely different kettle of fish). I'd much rather they put Nordies or any other decent pickup in and dropped the preamp to save costs etc. Frustratingly, I love the roasted maple neck on some of these, but every one with a neck like that on is equipped with those Barts. And they're an awkward size to replace too (6 string bass pickup shape, so only bar magnet 6 models will fit).

@Willfunk Food for thought? 😂

To me, it feels wide. I have had a few 4 string Dingwalls and long term have never got on with them. Defintely a P feel for me, but I never measured it. Defintely doesn't feel anything like a 38mm neck.
