NBD Dingwall

Picked this up yesterday, Dingwall ABII, spalted maple burl top with walnut chambered body and walnut neck, superb instrument never played anything like it. Weighs under 8lb and its a real joy to play. I briefly owned a Z1 last month and I can't believe how much of an improvement this ABII is for me, despite it being a comparatively lower spec model. Stock photo from when she left Sheldon's wonderful hands for now but I'll get some fresh pics up soon. 2. Bob, how are you finding the You're Doom - Proton combination? Any sound clips? Having just picked up a Proton and rather like it, the You're Doom has still evaded me!
3. With the help of a friend, just purchased a stunning Dingwall off David. Bass as advertised and is a complete beauty! Do not hesitate to deal with this fellow! Cheers buddy!
4. Fran just facilitated a sale on behalf of Swanbrook (David), true example of an excellent basschatter and friend, and it just so happens I'm chuffed with the bass. Cheers buddy! Hope to meet again in slightly less hurried circumstances!

This is the original made in Germany Corvette
7. What problem are you having? I find it easiest to upload pictures to Photobucket and copy the
8. Does that bass have a fretboard, or has the neck just been carved and frets installed??
9. Bump. Trade for five strings welcome, try me will consider lower value 4 strings but will need a good chunk of cash my way.

11. Shame he begun a sentence with 'As'....
12.
The music shop up the road from me is awesome for guitars, always loads in stock, really friendly guys. But the basses are... meh. And the setups are unplayable by most humans. And unfortunately, they don't stock fender or squier stuff, which I love. Otherwise it's a great shop. The other two shops in the area pale in comparison. One is run by a really unfriendly old bag who, despite me having bought two instruments from them in the past, always gives me some snide remark when I go in to try something out. The other one is full of teenagers playing at full volume, and I find the owner unfriendly. If I want to try anything now, I mainly hop on the train for £8 return and go down to Bristol, there's a good store near... hmm, I've forgotten - broadmead I think it's called - and I've forgotten the name of the shop. That's helpful. But it's a great shop, lots of stock, amps set up to plug in to, and the instruments are set up fairly well. I'll edit the post when I remember the shop name
Whilst I lived in Bristol, there was one in Broadmead called Rikaxxe and another called mickleburgh, both were decent but nothing too special as I recall. Of course, there was Soundcontrol, not sure if that has turned into something else now, haven't been there for many years.
13. With exception to Bass Direct and maybe a couple of others I have not frequented, this seems to be the norm these days
14. Please let this go to someone who needs it and has contributed positively to this community! Very generous of you
15. Up for sale/trade is my 2010 Warwick Dolphin Pro I bass. In very good condition, slightest player wear and a small mark near the nut, otherwise perfect condition. Plays wonderfully with a low action and lightweight for a Dolphin. Stunning Warwick, sale due to a move away from 4 strings. Great sounds on this bass, the option to split the Twin J at the back really provides so many different sounds, depending on the blend between the pickups. The Twin J solo'd is just funky as, being so close to the bridge. I'll miss it Has the new slim neck profile, no baseball bats here! Sublime to play, feels wonderful. Bass comes with the full User Kit and will come in a Hiscox Hardcase. 16.
So as most of you have probably seen I'm looking to trade away my Alembic for an Average stingray or Bongo bass. Crazy I know, but I'm just looking for something less "flashy"? Maybe that's not the right word, not sure. Anyway what are Musicman basses like to play compared to "Boutique" basses or say Fender Jazz basses? I've developed a recent interest in Musicman instruments and decided I want one in my collection that I won't feel guilty for gigging. So some lucky bassist on here will get my beaut of an Alembic sooner or later!
You shouldn't be asking that question mate, please don't trade/sell an Alembic without at least playing a Musicman first, you may hate it! No-one can really answer the question but you.
17. Damn you, Col! I was happy with my Dolphin but now all I can see is this P-Nut III in my house!
18. Good luck with the sale I have always fancied a Ditto, this seems very interesting!
19. They are really solid bridges, made of solid brass (2013 onwards) and adjust in every way imaginable very easily. Once you have the saddles set for the radius of the fingerboard, a couple bolts either side of the bridge control how deep into the body the bridge is, making it very simple to alter string height very quickly They also look really cool Best bridge I have used is the Voodoo bridge used on the top end Dingwall models, but of course that is a multiple scale length bridge
20. Merged feedback threads
21.
To be honest mainly on looks, I would like something separated rather than a big lump of metal like the original Ibanez, routing doesn't bother me in the slightest though and think the mono rails sink in as well so would need to route for those as well
Ah right, fair enough! I would choose the Warwick in that case
