1. One more from me...
2. Jack White's band is awful. Truly awful. I can't remember watching a worse act at Glastonbury, had they played together as a band before today?! Just a mess of sound and ideas, even the White Stripe covers were just terrible.
3. I can't quite remember how they work, but wouldn't a shorter screw help?
4. Just sold a funky pedal to Pete, smooth as butter. Paid Thursday evening and the pedal is now living with him, quick and easy! Cheers bud!
5. Without putting much thought into it, I always thought it was just these new digital power amps in comparison with the old. A 200w Trace Elliot is hella loud compared to the modern class D equivalent...
6.
there a switch to turn it back to normal, or is it mod only?
7. Market is on it's arse, quite frankly! Stunning bass!
8. Up we go again
9. Oh dear. That asking price is truly amazing. I'm almost tempted to offer £100 and see if he accepts and it is a silly buy it now price for a reason....but I am scared it could end with me owning it!
10. Bump, now for cash sale. Sizeable saving over a new one and it wouldn't be white It's mint with box. Looks like this
11. The bass that got away, the Vigier Passion. Always fancied one when they were out of my price range; now I have more expensive basses and I still haven't owned one. One day
12. Col, CPBass, has (or had) one
13. I hope he does sort things out. I am still quite annoyed at Taylor for not contacting the owners of the Subterreneas with the bleed issue offering the fix; I am still waiting for my offer of a repair, albeit I sold the pedal some months ago. Hopefully he will get his sh*t together as his pedals are fantastic!
14. Just look at the state of that, I have seen plywood 70s/80s copies that look nicer. £19k? Not even if I won the lottery. As a collectible item, it's a great chance to pick up an instrument that would be very special to people who care for Fender instruments. But surely, surely no-one will buy this for any other reason!
15. Well that is exactly what you would expect, lovely bass and seems in great condition. Get your husband to make an account and have him create a thread in the basses for sale forum with the highest value you realistically think you can get for it from the comments in this thread. I'm sure it will go, patience may be required is all
16. FUNK
17. Just my advice, but I would stick her in the sales forum with a value of £1500 (deliberately on the higher end) or nearest offer, and see what you get. You could always put in the thread that you are after a quick sale which may encourage offers you are looking for, and if you change your mind and decide to go for the higher price then you can just edit your ad Plenty of pictures demonstrating condition etc, and it will be your husband who will need to join the forum with his own account and list the bass as you cannot list on behalf of anyone else unfortunately, even if it is your husband! It's a specialist bass and to the right buyer £1500 would still be a very, very good price, given the £6k or so it would cost to buy one today. Warwick basses are fantastic and it is only the belief that the market is low for them that they go up for sale so cheap. Supply and demand, if people stopped selling them for silly prices the market will rise again! Needless to say, I sold (traded) my Warwick Dolphin (slightly cheaper than the Vampyre) for £1800 this year, a good bit more than you may expect with prices as they are, so demand for the newer/more specialist models is still high. Alternatively, I'll buy it off you for £50 and a smile, can't say fairer than that
18. what is the deal with those Platinum series strings? Would I be right in assuming that they are basically wound to have the played-in sound straight away? Or is there some other magic going on?
19.
Its been up and sold about 4 times in the last 3 months
I think something is wrong with this instrument. One to avoid, me thinks!

DOD Meatbox

If you had an EQ pedal set to boost heavily around the 30hz-60hz mark, perhaps with a regular octaver before it, what does the Meatbox offer differently for £150?
21. Actual jaw dropped, stunning!
22. Aye, I'v had a fair bit of interest and trade offers galore but nothing that has ever come of anything when it has come to the crunch! I'm not in too much of a rush to sell it, but it is currently sitting in its hardcase inside a cardboard box in the spare room, which doesn't seem right for such an instrument!

Is it just the picture, or does that Alder have an almost birdseye maple type appearance?
24.
Nice review there Kev. It really looks like a top notch Warwick product again which is nice to see...and no plastic nut to be seen Mind if I ask, ball park figure, what you paid for The Beast? No problem if you would rather keep that to yourself! Marks out of 10 for value for money? Question, Why does Warwick have a UK rep but no dealers? Surely getting even 5 or 10 great new or ex-demo bases out there to give us a feel for them would improve their image and reputation for quality that went a bit wayward. My only other thoughts on your comments about Warwick getting back on track is their lack of quality marketing. Andy Irvine is a great face for Warwick and does a sterling job at profiling many basses in the range but what is happening with their endorsed pro players? I mean they made a star bass for Bootsy, where is the promo vid of him playing the nuts off that bass with a band??? Stuart Zender, heavily stoned, plucking like two notes on his signature bass and acting goofy. Its just not enough quality footage of inspirational playing to make ME the potential customer WANT the products. That combined with sky-high retail prices for essentially CNC production-line instruments is really shooting themselves in the foot IMO. Custom Shop, fine be elitist with your pricing, but not your production lines. For me anyway, Warwick basses have always been very close to my heart, but will remain to be second-hand market purchases. I look forward to more of these 2013/14 return to wenge era basses becoming available S/H sometime in the near future. Might give one a try! Oh and congrats Kev. Thats a stonking bass you have there ;-)
I missed off value for money! I have added that on, I wont post the price paid publically but I may satisfy your curiosty by pm I don't know the backstory behind there being potentially no Warwick dealers in the UK anymore. The price list on the website for UK isn't there and hasn't been since 2012 . I imagine there are reps all over the world, perhaps for the exact reason that there are no UK dealers so there is a point of contact and a way of getting the basses into the country, custom orders etc. Marketing, I agree. The signature artists are not pushed enough and there are nowhere near enough promotional materials with them showcasing their instruments. This is something I would very much like to see! Going back to construction, it is a CNC production line, however as I mentioned the quantity of basses produced is expectionally low now and it is now very much about the quality of the instrument produced. They believe that machines can do it better, and I can't disagree with them. Their environmental efforts are also to be respected too. They are expensive, very expensive, but their RRPs do tend to be a cut by quite a decent amount by the time they get to the guitar stores. They still have some work to do to repair the brand damage over the last decade or so but I believe they are on the right track .
