1. The Atic comment stopped me from making a bid and taking a road trip. Could have a neck like a banana. Great price if it is in playable condition though!
2.
Any interest in any of those items I listed above?
Keep trade offers to pm please Best overdrive pedal ever made, superb. And by a company run by excellent people too
3.
Ever since you said about the mismatch/colour differences between the body wings on my stage 2, ive noticed it - gave it a good wax and clean yesterday and it isnt as obvious but I think you are actually right now, they arent properly matched. Still sounds huge, and it will sound even better with an OBP-3 installed
To be honest, it is nice to see an SSII with a good bit of figuring! I find Afzelia a little dull normally, your bass is a treat
4. Bought this on a whim only last week to give it a whirl, however I prefer my WMD filter so this will now have to go! Good condition and works perfectly, comes in a MXR Line Driver box, if that sort of thing bothers you! Looking to get back what I paid, so £SOLD shipped in the UK Cheers!
5. Just bought two pedals from this guy, shipped them as soon as was literally possible and arrived in 2 days from Europe, superb stuff! Cheers buddy
6. I really like the quarterround strings! Great first step away from roundwounds
7. shame its so far away from me!
8.
Wouldn't sound like Primus with any bass (unless you are Les) imo!
Well, yes, but I am trying to look at it from a crazy fan type attitude
9. He played this for two months or so, surely doesn't command this kind of price? He has also basically said in his little piece that this bass was only used because it sounded different from his other basses, so you won't sound like primus with this?! Crazy!
10.
2nd on the MXR if Kev doesn't have it?
I'll let you know if I don't get on with it mate
11.
Great price on the MXR, my fave filter!! Si
Indeedio
12. eBay sellers do this to avoid having to pay a listing fee twice. You will often see sellers raising the price of an item to something ridiculous, say £1000 for a guitar pick, so no-one will buy but the listing can stay live. Then, reduce back down when it is back in stock. It is against eBay rules, so report them.
13. Pm'd on MXR and Brimstone
14.
I used to have a Meatwad which is basically the same excellent filter, but I wonder if this one allows you to use the pedals in its effects loop when the filter is bypassed?
It does The pedal has an internal switch that switches from True Bypass and Buffered mode. In true bypass, it does not, but with the buffer on it does
15. Lovely basses! However, is it the picture quality (or my monitor) or do the SSII body wings not really match i.e. one side is much lighter than the other?
16. Nice! The serial number will be on top of the headstock, however it is usually difficult or impossible to see on these old high gloss finish models. Certainly not a standard Streamer
17. I'll take the 3 middle ones please Awesome basses, but of course da lolphin rulez.
18. Ahhh, and I was about to offer £10 for a broken pedal
19.
Hi Kev, thanks for the heads up. We're having some problems with Google and the Android App - they won't let us drop the price below 50p. Maybe they are worried about losing their cut. Back issues we have on the Apple Newsstand are now free, but Google seem to be digging their heels in. We're working on it. Nick
In the meantime, I'll steal the girlfriends iPad
20. How do we get these, Nick? Had a look on the Android app and the only option is to buy?
21. Would still love to try a Chunk, not made anymore so chances of having one are slim!
22. The JAN system is superb and I really wouldn't downgrade to a standard unadjustable nut; the bridge and nut setup is on of the Warwick plus points for sure. Buy a Tedur(plastic, basically) Just-A-Nut III and have that fitted? If you have £60 odd spare, the brass Just a Nut III could be yours, too, as fitted to all German top-end Warwicks now If you have to go non-Warwick, please don't put a white nut on!
23. ....and get a second hand SSI
24. One thing that I don't think has been pointed out: I really wouldn't go into this thinking about spending a certain amount. Get down to a bass shop, try as many basses as you can, find basses that you like and basses that you don't, and then and only then look at the prices and see if you can afford to buy new, second hand or neither. Appreciate this wont be possible for harder to find basses, but I think its the best way of finding what you want, not what we think you want
