1. Wire wool is perfect, just be careful if you have a finished fingerboard. Tape should sort you out though

3. Increasingly seeing this in the forum and I don't think it's right. Surely as its the seller who knows the preshipping condition of the instrument, is ensuring the bass is packed well and wants to make the sale it should always be their responsibility? I wonder how many online bass shops would still be going if they adverised shipping at buyers risk! Then there is the whole trust issue... 'oh the truss rod worked fine when it was with me, must have been the courier...' etc. I have had a few things damaged in courier when I have sold them and I wouldn't dream of telling the buyer to deal with it themselves! Also, any insurance claim would have to be handled by the sender, so I'm at a loss really. Surely if a buyer wants to offer postage to assist his chance of a sale, he should be responsible?
4. 35" scale. Neck through construction. Six string. £130. That is all.
5. Ahh, the 5 string stingray in its proper form. The only upgrade to this is. A Stingray Classic, and that would be £1k more than this!!
6.
Still here
How?!
7. The fretboard is stunning!
8.
I've had 2 bubble font Russians, a General Guitar Gadgets clone, EHX Bass Big Muff, W&C Tall Font Russian and the ARC Big Green Pi. Out of the clones, the W&C sounds most like an original green. Saying that, I've never heard anything that sounds quite like an original. Whether that is just me being picky, I can't say. The originals have a boxiness and growl that I've not seen replicated. I'm tempted to try a W&C Box of War. There's a comparison on Youtube that sounds spot-on...
I have one, its is brilliant. I still havn't tried a Tall Font, but i can't see it beating the BoW. It sounds almost identical to one of my old Civil War muff's, and the box is even cooler than the Arc
9. ...what colour is it?
10. Make me a cash offer, worst I can do is say no
11. That Geddy Wal is the stand out, looks superb!
12. The 2 band you are referring to is a preamp If the pickups are in bad condition or need replacing then barts are a good choice, did you want to replace the preamp as well?
13. Iron Ether Nimbus = bass specific reverb. I have one and its fantastic. I may be selling it though due to financial difficulties
14.
I agree with the second statement, but the decoupling capacitor at the input of each buffered pedal will shave a little bit off the bottom end, and by the time this has happened several times, you can expect a significant loss of bass. Damon, once you have worked out which pedals are the worst culprits (try them in groups of 2 or 3 as well as individually), I suggest you look to true-bypass these with something like the Loopy-2 or Quartermaster from TheGigRig. I also recommend leaving the best buffered pedal connected near the front of the signal chain, as it will happily drive the next pedal or a long cable run to your amp.
I would agree if the tone suck/volume drop was minimal, however from what he is describing in such a short relative pedal chain, I think a pedal has a fault. If you believe it to be the 3 Boss pedals together causing the issue, have you tried those alone and the rest alone and see if the issue only exists in one?
15.
Hi, Thinking of changing the pick-ups in an old Warwick Streamer bass, bought from Warwickhunt. I was considering replacing the original EMGs with new Barts in the same PJ config. Perhaps adding a pre-amp? What do we think? Good or bad move? Will it trash the value? Will it have minimal effect? Thoughts and opinions please. Visog
Why do you feel the need to change?
16. Sadly nothing remotely decent is selling at the moment!
17. Boss pedals have good buffers so tone loss or volume loss would not be expected, what you are describing for the pedals you have isn't right. Laborious, but you should check each pedal individually against their bypass and the direct to amp tone, a loop switch would be best to test this for easy comparison.

Iron Ether Subterranea

So the pedals should finally be shipping on Monday, will be sure to review once it arrives!
19. Still tempted by that 'ray. If the purchase of my intended new bass doesn't happen due to delays with selling my Zoid i could well come back to this...
20. Thanks mate! Nope it isn't different, the nut is clearly cut for E-C but accommodates B-G just fine
21. Sorry mate! But thanks for the kind words
22. Not a problem I have come across on iPhone 4S or iPad 3, but I stand corrected! Ah well, hopefully he'll post and you'll get it anyway cracking price for a quality bass!
