1. Gorgeous, great price for what I'm sure is an excellent bass. Would love to have a play on her to compare to my 90' model
2. I enjoy the B3k after my Ultra Fuzz, but after much tinkering I hav decided I prefer the sound of it going into the fuzz, just takes it to another level, so much gain! And the B3K works great before the tafm as the two volume control let you balance the overdriven tone and fuzz Havnt tried a tall font muff but I imagine it will be the same experience I have with the ultra fuzz when putting the B3K before it, but whatever sounds good dude!
3. Done, GAS free for the moment, sick of buying and selling! All are these best of their type that I have owned I think, great stuff
4. They will not fit a jazz bass headstock I'm afraid. They are, however, unused and like new providing you have the right headstock layout
5. Will also do with the stock valves only for £160 shipped.
6. Yeah it isn't great for the seller but understandable. What bothers me more is if someone on here saw that a basschatter had agreed £350 for the bass and then offered double to grab it.
7. I have found that passive basses work best with alot of effects, including octavers, and playing with the neck pickup yields best results. However, i have my thumb slightly blended towards the bridge and is very much active and i love the OC-2
8. Serial number was JV53952, worth keeping an eye out if it ever surfaces in the sales forum
9. The guys on this forum are great but why do i get the sad feeling it was someone who read this thread
10. Bump? At the moment I am going the way of replacing the mec preamp and seeing what happens, but any further suggestions would be great
11. Pm's replied, couple of trade offers but nothing grabbing me yet. I would prefer cash but still may take something interesting!
12. The OC-2 really is great, nothing has matched its synthyness for me, even if it does track a bit too badly. Best octaver i have ever had is the Mutron Octave Divider, but good luck finding one for less than £450 odd these days!
13.
On Hermes website - small parcel up to 1kg, 2 day service, signed for, £25 cover = £4.02 drop off at local shop or £4.32 collected.* *Edit: Collected = 3 day service! Post Office Small Parcel up to 2kg, 1st class is Next Day (Aim), signed for, £50 cover = £4.10 Not a lot of difference really, swings & roundabouts
Try pricing a parcel with more than 8cm (medium parcel) depth with Royal Mail, ie the size majority of pedals will need to be sent, you may then understand what we are moaning about!
14. For Audiophiles out there, valve in V1 is a GE 12ax7/ECC83 early 60's and valve in V2 is a GE JG 5751 WA (slightly lower gain than ecc83), again late 50's early 60's.
15. I may be selling my Bottle Rocket, not had it long but I don't think a valve sound is actually what I am looking for at the moment. Great pedal, lots of info on the net about it and known for its massive low end, fantastic for bass. I have had 3 DHA pedals and I prefer one of these, lovely warm valve sound that can get very aggressive when cranked! No box but has original power supply (us to uk adapter included), in good condition, volume pot a little crackly but sure it just needs a clean. Currently fitted with two 50's/60's GE valves, will include original Mesa valves with sale. [s]£180[/s] £170 shipped in UK. Will consider almost any trade, hit me
16. There is no right answer to that question. It is half the fun of effects! Experiment in all positions and whatever sounds the best to you is the best, regardless of where they 'should' be
17.
I've read most of this thread & one question I don't think has been asked is, how much does it cost to run Basschat for a year?
I don't really think that is our concern. We are donating to help run the site and in turn we are getting unlimited listing in the classifieds section.
18. It is mentally bright, isn't it? I felt myself covering it with a finger or my foot when playing with settings! So did you trade for the rat tail with the guy that just missed out to you when i was selling it?
19. Another shuffle, happiest i have been for a while, I think i will be replacing the Mesa with my incoming replacement B3K. I cannot envisage any further changes, but when it comes to recording some demos i may well find a sound is missing. But for now, satisfied
20. Indeed, if you have a medium box that weighs less than 500g, it would only cost an extra 20p to upgrade from first class signed for to special delivery. Mental.
21. A fair warning for mail price rises as of today 2nd April. http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RoyalMail_OurPrices_April2013.pdf They now have size catgories: Small parcels can measure up to: Length: 45cm Width: 35cm Depth: 8cm Weight limit: 2kg Medium parcels can measure up to: Length: 61cm Width: 46cm Depth: 46cm Weight limit: 20kg Large parcels can measure up to: 1.5m length and 3m length and girth combined Weight limit: 30kg Only available on Parcelforce Worldwide services I found out today that a small 10cm depth box would now costs £6.30 to post by royal mail second class signed for, a 100% increase on 2012 costs. Watch out when packing up pedals! Unbelievable really.
22. I'll have a tinkle a bit later, but i have added a Team Awesome Fuzz Machine to that loop at the end now (True Bypass) and Mesa works without issues. Fairly sure i did try Mesa > OC-2 and the volume drop was present. Edit, works fine with OC-2 after the Mesa, must have not tried that combo as it's not one i would ever use. Does look like a buffered bypass after the mesa may be resolving, rather than phase. Maybe. Point is at least in the current layout it is working. Cheers Tom.
