1. Find yourself an old Warwick Streamer SS1, i hear the new 2013 models have gone skinny too
2.
Bass sold, buyer very happy can you remove posts please admin
I never get why people request this...
3. Awesome stuff, any reason why you are moving it on so soon? Looks a complete beast!
4.
yup - i had a 2002 bassdrive for many years but eventually replaced it with the BB as I preferred the EQ of the xotic pedal. I use a booster in front of the BB and this pushes it in a v similar way to using the boost function on the bassdrive... just back from practise, and changed my board up a bit, as I'm using a P now instead of a jazz... v happy with this little setup I prefer how my grey stache sounded with the jazz, but using the precision, the TFR sounds a bit better to me - meaty as hell
Love this! Have you ever owned a Tall Font muff? If so, in reality, how does it compare? Very keen and sound samples sound good but somehow the clones I have tried have always missed something
5. I would like an EQ on the B3K, but i have never found myself needing it and, on the contrary, i always find a blend knob more useful, solo'd and in a mix. A more natural way of retaining low end when needed IMO
6. Crap photo but here is my pair
7. Sounds like a good bass at about the right price, the old passive pro series models usually go for around £1200-£1500 odd from what I have seen on here and elsewhere previously, so a grand is a winner
8. Great looking bass, cracking these! At that price its just a superb deal!
9. Bugger! How much are you selling it for, out of interest?
10. This is now sold, thanks for interest.
11. And replied
12. Okay, £85 shipped in the UK
13. Nothing scratchy about it I'm afraid, had a luthier look at it today ( Peter Alan, great chap who gave some sound advice) and it is very much a crack, probably caused by an over tightening of the truss rod, but the crack has been filled at some point and iv been told that all will remain okay providing I don't go messing with the truss rod unecessarily or try and play death metal with inch thick strings! The bass is setup nice with low action and plays really well, it's otherwise a stunning example
14. It's the SS1 with the crack in the neck, bought off here last week
15. Complete bargain, would love a Thumb 5 to go with my 4!
16. Bump Will consider any trade now, would really rather not sell as the money will be eaten up by other things!
17. But there must be a problem then considering it is a stock setup? I think I will have it looked at by a professional, needs the neck looking at anyway.
18. Messed around this evening and turned the bass n mids down on the amp and cranked to try and enhance the distortion, turns out it actually happens with both pickups, just less so with the j, and even with the p pup all the way down as in the pic it still distorts when attacked hard or using a plectrum. Preamp or some sort of wiring issue? Doesn't sound like a quick fix anyway, unless anyone else has any experience driven ideas??
19. No there is no sign it has, the output doesn't sound particularly hot either.
20. Sadly I'm fairly amateur when it comes to this kind of stuff, fairly sure the EMG's are active. Certainly is a MEC preamp in there and all visible connections seem secure, pots are quiet and the bridge pickup works fine and is quite close to the strings. My first thought was to check if the MEC has a internal gain trimpot, but cannot see that it does...
21. Thanks for your help, but the majority of old Pre 1990 warwick basses have the EMG pickup MEC preamp combination and iv not seen many complaints so surely the preamp should work fine with it??
22. As far as pickup height goes, the following picture is how i have it set now and at this height there is almost no distortion unless i dig in really hard. Raising the pickup reduces the heaviness of attack needed to trigger distortion. I shouldn't have to have the pickup this low, should i?? 23. It will be an MEC preamp.
