The absolute essentials for the muse sound are a grindy distortion, a gated fuzz, an octaver (perferably a boss oc-2) and a filter. These will get you most of the synth sounds hes uses, and you'll also need them individually. An important part of his sound is that everything is blended with clean bass, not sure if any multis can do that, but the ls-2 is your cheapest stompbox solution for blending.
Majority of multi's should let you blend dry with wet, my ME-8B allows 100% wet and 100% dry on all effects. Actually the me-8b can get some good muse tones on some settings, synth is VERY good, mixed with the overdrive and clean bass sounds great Hard to come by, but i got mine for a bargain on here so can be found! GT10B wise, never had experience of it, seems too expensive to bother with (id never spend more than £100 or so on a multi effect, but then again i only buy effects second hand ). I had a GT-6B and found it to be quite poor for synthy type tones, although it has some good distortion models. I preferred the ME50B, but again not for synth. Do consider the difference between Chris's live and studio tone, highlighting just how much processing goes into his sound. But pleassse dont buy 6 big muffs and a deep impact and expect to be him Again, no experience, but a couple on this forum have said good things about the Podxt Pro/Live in terms of synthy type fuzzness, worth checking out.
I've got a Hartke vx3500 combo I've been thinking about moving on. It's the highly-regarded HA3500 head with a 4x10. Covers every gig with ease. Great versatile combo with a flexible eq that can cover a range of sounds with both valve and solid state pre-amps. I actually haven't used it all that much, as I've had a couple of backup amps in the 2 years I've owned it which I've used instead as they were both small combo's and we primarily play small pubs so less to lug around. I've only used this for our bigger gigs and a handful of outdoor gigs. It's the best version too, with the newer more reliable silver-faced amp head and the paper coned speakers. I know a lot of people had issues with the aluminium drivers. I think they're currently just under £600 new, if I was going to advertise it for sale I'd be thinking around £350. It's in great condition.
Not really what i am after i dont think, although not had enough experience with Hartke to rule it out..... il have a little think mate, cheers
trade for my trace rig - advertised on this forum plus cash from my side?
Could be interested in the cab if i find an amp, but otherwise not exactly what i am after Had loads of pms, think iv replied to them all. Couple of interesting prospects but very much still available!

Money is a little tight at the moment, so im struggling to find free cash to buy a replacement cab to go with my markbass head.... sooo i am looking to downgrade and trade this head prefferably for an amp and cab or a combo. Don't need to say much about the amp i dont think, reputation speaks for itself! Great amp, but dont think i can really afford to keep it Trade wise, don't really have a preference, can't really add any cash to a deal and dont particularly want to receive cash either, straight trade preferrable Particularly interested in Trace Elliot, Marshall and other similarly priced gear. Amp is pictured in my avatar. This is just a feeler really, i am by no means desperate to trade as i love the thing and if i can find the cash for a cab i wont be selling No cash unless i see something else i want on the forum, so please do not offer! 01.11.2010: Update, now sorted a cab, so WITHDRAWN

Sadly i have no interface to record anything at the moment so i can't post clips, having lots of fun though Will be getting a couple of footswitches and an expression pedal to max its use, love the manual mode (treats unit like 5 separate compact pedals) and extra foot pedal will let me switch by foot
Has everyone forgotten how RHCP ripped off Tom Petty's Mary Jane's last dance? TP said enough people in the world were sueing each other and he couldn't be bothered.
In that case surely Petty ripped of Lynard Skynard

Warwick Streamer Standard 5 string NOW SOLD PENDING PAYMENT
Will you consider p/x if you see anything you fancy in my sig. (except the Yamaha, the GK or the EBS)? That looks dangerously cheap for a Warwick. What's the catch? Truckstop
Its the old streamer standard, prerequisite to the Rockbass, only they were actually made in germany and have a proper Warwick Ovankgol neck. Often see the 4 strings going for cheap prices on here, this is the first 5 i have seen and i actually really quite like it! Alot of bass for the money! -
What a pedal Recently took delivery of one on here and i love it, synth tones are superb and synth modes 5-9 actually track better than anything iv had before, deep impact included. Awesome! Insane that boss have not resused these sounds in other pedals (GT6B synths are truly terrible) Internal sound source synth modes are, as usual, awful and completely unusable (no idea why Boss persist with these?) I am not finding the t-wah as good as other people seem to, seem a little harsh to me... Compressor seems pretty good, can be quite noisy but i am sure it wouldn't be a problem in a live band situation. Can only find one overdrive setting i like, the fuzz and distortion are pretty rubbish tbf. Octaver is perfectly good, like the flanger and chorus, delay is very good imo. Reverb is quite digital but i wont be bothering with that anyway. Looking to buy an expression pedal to complete the package at some point. However this pedal is all about the synth, really, really good Anyone got any settings they would particularly like to share?
