1. Just downloaded this now, may not (in theory at least) be as accurate as the istroboft, but at the moment it is working a hell of a lot better, great even through the iphones mic! Great app
2. Yeah i am doing it exactly how i should i think, volume on bass at about 1/2 with eq off, set at 440hz +0 C, noise filter and input boost activated, either coming straight from my bass or from my mixer, and its just hopeless on the B and E, and as i said can't really detect the other open strings. Its fine for tuning at the 12th, particulary harmonic, but thats no good as i know my intonation isn't perfect.
3. Overwater strings??
4. okay i bought the istrobosoft cable, and i'm less than impressed. Half the time it doesn't correctly recognise ANY of the open strings (regularly shows the B as F# and the E as B!), and struggles anywhere on the B and E. On top of that, when i 'tune' it up to istrobosoft it appears out of tune on the other tuner i have on there, so i now have no idea which is right. This thing gets good reviews, iv tried it loud and quite, thumb stroked and plucked, direct from bass and from mixer, all as warbley and inaccurate as the other.
5. Il go to bed a wiser bassman cheers for the info buddy.
6.
No. They're listed as using the "Novax fanned fret system"- Novax do/did (not sure if its still valid) have a patent on a method of laying out the frets IIRC but fanned fret instruments have been around for quite a long time.
Dingwall have been around for quite a long time Nah i was just curious as i hadn't seen another fanned fret bass, i just gathered Novax was Dingwall's brand.
7. Briefly played one at Bass Direct a couple of weeks ago, its quite amazing how i could pick up the bass and play without looking with those frets. Pretty nice bass, does anyone know if Dingwall have a patent on that fret system?
8. Its like all vintage instruments really. Are they worth the money in terms of playability/sound? Majority of the time of course not, they are stupidly inflated prices and chances are you could get a far superior bass for the same money (speaking about vintage in general, never touched a JV before). But if your the kind of guy that likes to pay extra for older instruments for their vibe, looks and classic old school sound then go for it, you'll get your money back! And im fairly certain they will continue to rise in value.
9. Don't know if Mark mentioned it to you, but shortly after you bought it he had someone else on the phone trying to take it off his hands! Didn't play it but it looked lovely mate.
10. Don't really fancy taking steel wool to my bass, i think i will use the lemon oil but id like some recommendations as apparantly alot of lemon oils out there are far from pure and have all kinds of rubbish in them. What is the dunlop 65 stuff like?
11. Bargain to be had here, 500 odd quid for a 6 string Warwick?!!!
12. If I uses the ones I linked to I would just use the phono out on my mixer and plug into the phone?
13. like this one? http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1m-Labo-Vid...ereo)-RCA-Cable
14. forgetting the price of this one (sure i can find one cheaper) but is this the sort of cable that would work? http://www.presentsandgiftideas.com/Recomm...7128&m=1402
15. This is silly cheap, why on earth hasn't this sold! So what if he supports west ham, quality bass!
16. Okay, i might give some lemon oil a go, any particular brand to go for?
17. Is there no other cable in existance that would do the same thing? Really don't want to be paying 10 plus international shipping for something which may be found in maplins for loose change.
18. Just read this, RIP
19. Any recommendations for fretboard/neck waxing? I know the obvious is the warwick beeswax here I remember seeing a stunning wenge board on here that someone had polished up but cannot remember what they said they used.
20. Great introduction to a superior machine
21. Wrong forum buddy, ask a moderator to move it to the sales forum

24.
Or just try finding SoundControl
Good call
