1. Steve, ask for £1,000,000, you don't want to let it go!
2.
I didn't suggest I only got excited by boutique stuff. Not sure what you mean by 'missing out on a whole lot of tone'...
the best tones i have had have generally come from 'standard' pedals, rather than 'boutique' anyways back on topic, BUMP
3.
Not exactly boutique, I got excited for no reason at all...free bump and good luck.
you only get excited by boutique stuff? You are missing out on a whole lot of tone my friend.
4.
if i'm allowed to ask, has it been relic'd or is that "a couple of years" of wear? i'm just curious
he's already said, it was refinished around the original wear and tear, brilliantly
5. Been living in warwick for a week now, and still havn't been down there. Whats wrong with me?!!
6. ^^cheers mate, yup thats the one
7. Bump. Don't wait for the price to drop, I can assure you it won't il stop bumping this from Sunday onwards.
8. blimey, thats a lovely deep sunburst, and a lovely dark fretboard, beautiful!
9.
The Maplin one sounds ideal, but it's not gonna do that annoying thing where you can't really plug things in next to it on a 4-way is it? That would be a problem!
Iv never had a full 5-way before, so the problem has never arose for me, but yes you'll have trouble having plugs either side of it.
10.
Ugh, no. I had a Maplins one. It was massive, heavy, took up space on my pedalboard and introduced LOADS of noise. effectspowersupplies have one which is smaller, cheap enough, doesn't take up too much room (it's a wall wart, but not a massive one), doesn't weigh a ton, and isn't noisy. Get that.
True, its quite large, but no noise whatsoever...either you had a dodgy one, or it was something else (i used one with a wh1, in a 15 pedal board) I repeat, very good supply, and currently use it for my Mesa pedal, to great effect and yes mate, thats the one
11. maplins ac-ac 1000ma power supply, better than the original
12. gorgeous, if it didn't have that pesky 2008 fret marker it would be perfect! What made you change your mind about sterlings??
13. Bump This is a really great, and pretty damn rare, valve preamp pedal. Two mesa 12ax7's are at the heart of this pedals beastly tone. Works superbly with bass, with zero low end loss. Warms up the signal better than anything iv tried (including 3 DHA pedals), and can get pretty distorted at higher gain. Pedal is very responsive to your attack, and the gain range is impressive. Would really, really recommend this if you wanted to add a touch of dirt to your sound. Stick a boost pedal before it and itl drive it superbly for even higher gain sounds. £130 is the price, and its none negotiable, il keep it otherwise. Only selling due to the much higher cost than i thought of moving house (and the fact i no longer own a bass to play through it). No trades.
14. Sorry, what are you actually selling? I assume its not just the pickup (Available here)... Pardon my ignorance
15. Afraid not mate, need cash. After iv sold this and the other bits il have no bass gear left, sad times aye?
16. Bought from here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=67462 Not even received these yet, but must sell due to financial problems. Selling for what i paid.
17. Very reluctant sale, hence the tone of this thread. Vintage icon V4 P bass, reliced sunburst, modified with a custom fit anodized gold scratchplate and squier JV series pickups (yes those ones). Result is a superb p bass with a nice low action, which blows a mex fender out the water. Very lightweight instrument too. Instead of the JV's, i can have a MEC active pickup fitted (recently bought, actually not received yet) for a little more. Pics can be supplied upon serious interest, but for now check out my thread in the gear porn section, which has a selection of pics. £160 posted in UK. See in sales section for a mesa boogie valve pedal.
18. Very reluctant sale, as you may tell from the tone of this thread, due to financial problems. Good condition, no box. Comes with maplins AC power supply, and the original power supply which has a snapped earth pin. My comments and sound sample of this fantastic pedal can be found in the effects forum. £130 with maplins supply, £120 without.
19. i f***ing love matalic black.

21. In summary, if you see a jap one going cheap or same price as the Taiwanese, buy it for its value, but don't bother paying over the odds for one, simply is not worth it.
22. Collectors like to imagine the jap ones sound better, but in reality there is no difference between any of the models.
