1. all about the BSSM tone, f***ing immense. However, despite an impressive performance from flea, i hated OHM and the whole Navarro era, cant stand that guy and hated the bands image whilst he was around. RHCP died in 1992.

4.
While a subforum would be fine, I don't think a dedicated forum is OTT. Currently we have bass guitars, bass amplification & bass effects as individual forums, followed by anything & everything else musically related - which currently encompasses everything from BadAss IIs to Mongolian nose-flutes, via your kids' old Bob The Builder CDs! Well, theoretically. Given that the vast majority of us seem to be modders, tinkerers, tweakers, bodgers & builders, I don't think a bass components forum is at all unrealistic. J.
But this is a bass forum, so i feel that there are already enough sections in the classifieds as it is. The reason why other musical instruments is all clumped together into one forum is because alot of people wouldnt think of positing their flute for sale on a bass forum, as chances are it wouldn't exactly be the eye catching sale, well for the right reasons anyways. There are currently 3 dedicated bass related forums as they are the most popular sales threads, and i think it was a great idea to give the effects a dedicated forum, but i think its overkill to have a seperate forum for pickups and necks, not enough are sold on here. I agree that bass parts shouldnt be mixed with the other stuff though, and so i feel that should be a subsection of the bass classifieds, and other non-bass stuff should be in the other forum. I think subforums are much neater.

6.
I think that's what the OP meant.
I must have misread his post, to me it looks like its suggesting a new forum separate from the other ones in the marketplace should be made, which i think is a little OTT. Subforum though is certainly a good idea
7. hmm, not so sure. Definitely not a whole new forum, but perhaps a subforum to the bass classifieds?
8. So i got this in a trade and despite it being superb, i have massive GAS for an octave pedal so i need to let it go. USA reissue big muff pedal, bought for £69 (price sticker still on box!), which has been modified by Owen Electronics to Green Big Muff specs. It has also further been modified so that more bass comes through, and the result is superb. Most low end iv heard from a muff, and as some of you know iv tried pretty much all of them. Rolling the tone knob back makes the room shake, sweet spot is around 1 o clock for me. It is a superb bass fuzz now. Its also been fitted with a blue LED, and a diago power adapter will be included so you can use with a normal boss type power supply. Make your offers please! Cheers
9. mate, try and find a black russian (or green if you can afford it) on ebay, simpler solution and will probably sound better than having the us muff and the ehx. Or email owen electronics about modding your muff. I have recently received a US model modified by owen to green muff specs, plus a tweak of the tone control for even more low end, and sounds terrific.
10. Bugger I will try one of these out one day!!!!
11. How are those mid fi pedals with bass? In terms of low end loss, impedance issues etc
12. If this is still goin next Thursday (payday) then il give this a go. Let me know cheers
13. tempted to bump into you at sainsburys and nab that chorus off you...
14. you sold an odb-3 to a music shop for £60?!!!!! What is the name of your local music store, f*** ebay i need to pay them a visit!
15. i personally think flea has a superb bass tone, and he slices through the mix live brilliantly. He also uses the boss odb-3, which everyone knows is the greatest overdrive ever produced.
16. Kev

All Sold

Out of interest, are those pedals really worth all the hype that surrounds them? They don't seem to last 10 minutes when they go up for sale, but the sound samples don't get me that excited. I'd love to try one out
17.
Hey I'm going to say no to the LMB You can get them for £30 new at some places if you look hard enough, my local music is doing 10% £35 for one so its like £30 new sorry
Then stop posting in this thread and buy it from your local music shop then!
18. interested in a trade involving your blackfinger and my hellbilly?
19. for me, totally depends on the shape, neck and hardware of the bass, completely subjective. For example i love a sunburst finish on a jazz type, but think it looks rubbish on a stingray type. Im finding myself drooling over and fiesta red basses that come up lately, and iv always been a fan of white basses w/ maple fretboard.
20.
Oh, I can't help it now, you've got me going. The Wal website looks like some sort of Ikea/Habitat generic abomination made by a team of 6th formers on a Dreamweaver course. There's tiny little pictures that you click on ... only to bring up more tiny pictures. Their website puts me off ordering a new Wal even more than the actual price.
With all due respect, if a basic website puts you off buying a wal, i don't think you should be spending thousands of pounds on a bass. When talking about this kind of money, its all about telephone calls/emails/meeting in person, not clicking 'click to enlarge', 'view details' and 'add to basket' on a website I very much doubt there wil be many visitors to the website who don't know what a wal bass is about, so a basic site is all that is needed, for the time being at least.
21.
Surely that's the entire point of running a business? If someone asked me whether I wanted to do the same job for £50k a year that I was doing for £15k before, I would jump at it.
perhaps i am naive and like to think there are more luthiers out there who care more about music than money Anyway, i can see where this kind of arguement can go so lets nip it in the bud. Its great for people who really want the Wal sound, but IMO too expensive for somebody who simply wants a quality custom bass.
