1.
the justification of 'you can play fine without theory' is all very well, but what's to say that you wouldn't play that bit better with some knowledge? At the least it can't exactly make your playing worse, so what have you got to lose, except time, by learning basic theory?
ever considered the viewpoint that knowing theory may well cloud your judgement, cause you to overthink things and base your lines on what your told sounds right, rather than what your ears thinks sounds right?
2. OMGZ you ab0lutl3y mus1!!!!! Cant right musik wivout it!!!1!! if you have a good pair of ears and know what sounds right, why should theory matter? i know nothing, and i think im pretty good as i am
3. f*** f***ing f*** f***ing f*** f*** f*** f***ing f***er f***ing mother f***ing sh*t
4. i say f*** a lot, do i have Scottish heritage?
5. good to see bargains still around, a steal for whoever is the lucky buyer.
6. And I thought I was impatient!
7. At last
8. perhaps not nice, but fitting at present. Killing in the name, really easy line which i absolutly love playing with all kinds of ugly angry faces and violent movements
9. do you have it set up with a pretty high action, or is the camera angle/fretboard wood playing tricks on me? beautiful instrument.
10.
I can get photos if anyone's really interested.
tbf, i dont think anyone will be 'really interested' until you show them photos
11. ^^ very good. Also a great argument for active electronics in a bass. I just think though that the basses stock are too overpriced. Quality is poor, even if you do find one setup well.
12. the bass without the neck will just be another squier. Don't sell the neck. If you have to, don't let it go cheaply.
13. thats a superb price, bump!
14. why dont interested parties just call him, rather than wait for email responses??
15. the mesa will obviously need the AC power supply (iirc the one you bought includes this). Most effects power supplys are DC. So without doubt the rocket will really always need a dedicated power supply. The others will just need a bog standard boss type 9v. Depending how anal you are, you can pick them up for anything between £10 and £???. As long as its regulated and at least a good 1000ma, any will do.
16. Other guy is no longer interested, so this is definetly available!
17.
Ah ok, made me smile, some people slate ashdown a bit, yet if its good enough for Macca, its could enough for me!
correction, most people slate ashdown a lot Makes me shudder to think of his fee for that 10 minutes or so.... Beastly mesa rig, shame his voice was all over the place.
18. Been umming and arring about selling this, but iv now decided I will sell it, providing I get first refusal if you sell! Have someone interested, waiting for him to get back to me. £130 shipped, won't post after next week though for obvious reasons, so treat yourself to, IMO, the best valve pedal for bass.
19. i dont think there is any questions about this one, despite his feedback rating that is exactly what he says it is. Mummy got him a better gift than i think he could have ever have thought!
20. lots of cynical attitude in this thread. Wayne has found a 72 jazz for a good (considering what it is, awful considering its just an old bit of wood, horses for courses) price that is the best he has played. As long as he can get someone else to check it over for originality, why so much doubt?
21. the korg is most certainly digital, and im pretty sure the rest are all analogue. Check the current draw as Protium said, the G5 will suck a lot.
22.
Hmm i've been tempted by a sovtek muff for ages... Anyone know how it would compare to a blowtorch and mastotron?
as already mentioned, the muff is a different animal, not better nor worse. However, the civil war sovtek big muff (the model before the original green edition) is hands down the best bass fuzz in existence, and thats not IMO, its fact.
23. i think bass direct may have them in, i may well go down there tomorrow or tuesday...
24.
If you wanna keep it friendly be straight about what you're selling
+1 Perhaps the response the OP is getting might be partly because he failed to disclose a very value-damaging modification to the bass until asked? Also find it a little strange his response to criticism includes him saying his asking price is way too high, but yet hasn't changed it? If the seller talks about his price like that in the thread, i don't see why members can't suggest more realistic prices here too.
25. im sure you'll get more interesting in the rickenbacker if you give a price i don't even know what 'commensurate' means...
