1. the ps5 is missing by far my favourite part of the ps3....
2. i would imagine the string wouldn't be long enough due to the obvious big difference in scale length between a 6 string guitar and a 7 string bass (id assume its 35")
3. iv also got a wilkinson split coil precision pickup spare now if anyone is interested in that too, taken out of a 1 week old vintage icon v4 bass . Think id be after a crisp tenner for that.. Whatever the jazz pickups are, i will sell those for around a tenner shipped too
4. got a nice 80s JV Squier pickup in the P now, sounds great! Big improvement on the wilkinson pickup
5. no sign of anything different underneath, the only thing unique at all is the fact that one has different coloured wires, which probably means nothing: Pic of bottom: Must say these are sold as is, unless of course they dont work
6. heres a pic of the jazz pups, maybe the boxes give a clue as to what they are?
7. A high quality female neutrik XLR to mini jack cable. Very good cable for recording to computer soundcard, low noise. About £12 new. Happy to take £7shipped. cheers
8.
Really? i sold mine for £360 and i just saw one sell on ebay for around £295... you just have to pay what's sensible. Personally i wouldn't go much over £350ish
keep an eye on ebay, you would be suprised! People payin quite a lot for them every now and then! You sold yours for a good price
The market has picked up a bit now, SUBs are going for nearer £400 and Rays aren't going for sily money any more. Even when there was a lull in the market i saw a SUB with flightcase go on eBay for well over £400
Yeah, its weird the way it works sometimes.
9. recently bought a vintage precision, very happy with the build quality and playablilty, however the pickup is a weak point. Very easy to swap out for something better though, as i am doing
10. a point worth making.....people do say that SUB's are great value compared to stingrays, however in the current market, SUB's can sell for anything up to £450, whereas stingrays are selling as little as £550. I dont agree that a real stingray is worth twice that of a sub, but i do think its worth £100-200 more. IMO, of course
11. Great basses! Sounds very much like a 2 band stingray as very similar electronics are used. My first proper bass a musicman sub was, i enjoyed it. Only complaints id have is the slab body being a little uncomfortable at times, the terrible stock pickguard (you MUST replace that), and sometimes the neck could feel a little 'sticky'. Musicman stopped producing these as they cost too much to make and were too similar to stingrays....go figure
12.
Well...the scratchplate has since been returned to white. I must have been lucky with the paint stripper cos it did'nt tarnish the finish of the plastic (The painbrsh wasnt as lucky however). Managed to get the rest off the edges by shaving off with a stanley knife. I dont understand the star either... its currently covered witha sticker more suiting my tastes. It is a cracking bass, especially with the upgrades: I'll need to get a proper outdoors photo like most folk seem to have
was the black finish poorly applied? i though it looked brilliant with it black, but of course i havnt seen it in the flesh...

14.
Because they have a greater disposable income than you?
more fool them
15. tis madness really. Everyone went crazy when a member posted one of these for sale for the same price a few months ago (the one at GAK).
16.
I'm really gassing for the V1005SP (spalted maple top 5 string): It looks so nice, but seems to be in most shops for around £429+, and considering I could get a Spector Legend 6 for around £489, I'm unsure whether or not to buy it over the Legend.
whilst it may seem better value to go for the spector, consider with vintage you are getting the whole bass for the money, whereas with the spector your paying for the bass and the brand
17. ah, same make as my first amp had the 35w and 100w of these, lovely little amps. Have a bump
18. the attitude you get from alot of music shop workers when it comes to trying some gear out is enough to persuade me to nearly always buy online.
19.
Feel for you mate, real downer. Maybe post some photos and let us know what part of the world they went missing from. Hope you get them back, all the best.
Id assume Sheffield, looking at thread title...
20. Sad to hear mate. Im quite a way away in Bristol, but il keep an eye out in the local second hand music shops, just in case
21. bidder one, the origninal big bid, has never made an ebay transaction and is only bidding on this. Shill bidding? But that doesnt explain the other bidders... tis a very weird one
22. fitting a nice vintage fender pickup in my icon next week
