2. my buckle roughly touches my bass just below the neck plate, which is perfect for me
3. 4.5k for a wal... man i wish i was older and bought several of these in the 80's, id be bloody rich!!
4. this question or similar is asked so many times, and the answer will always be the same. You need to try it before you buy one, as with any fender bass. I find fenders vary too much to say one particular model is 'better' than another. Im sure several owners of mims have tried US basses and preffered their own, and visa versa, just as im sure people who own cij/mif basses think theirs blows all others out the water. I think im right in saying that all fenders really benefit from a good setup? Perhaps when properly set up US basses are the better bass and worth the extra money, however if that is the case i am yet to play a 'properly set up' us fender
5. the pics arnt visible anymore, they have been moved or deleted??
6. Oh. My. God. what are people on how can plywood be worth this much
7. Sorry, i just don't understand why he is playing a bass rather than a guitar.
8. Old skool japanese distortion pedal. Produces some nice subtle fuzzy grit to all out balls to the wall fuzz. The 3 band eq on the pedal makes it very flexible, and with the low eq boosted, there is no low end loss whatsoever. A very, very good pedal which you dont see very often. The footswitch is a bit flappy, but it works just fine. Solid metal construction. im after a more overdriven tone rather than fuzz, so im looking to sell or trade this for a bass overdrive. Im not interested in a fuzz or high gain distortions, just an overdrive. Cash price would be £30 shipped, but i would prefer to trade (with cash likely coming your way) cheers its the black pedal in the centre of the pic:

Aria STB-GT5
I have an STB-GT 4 which is my favourite bit of non-JapCrap at the moment: Got it off Ebay for just over a ton, second-hand but in absolutely brand new condition. Setup was pretty rotten when I got it - probably why it was for sale if the original owner was a beginner - but it didn't take much sorting out, and now it's a pretty sweet player. There were a couple of rough fret-ends up the dusty end, but a few seconds with a file fixed that, and it's a really nice neck, quite a Jazz-like feel but not at all cramped. The battery box is a bit flimsy - I tape mine shut when gigging because it has a tendency to spring open if you move about too much, so I might eventually replace it with a more robust one. Other than that it's hard to fault for the money, and well, look at it - it's gorgeous! Jon.
yeah iv noticed that about the battery box, and taped it shut too but yeah its a really cool bass. I was tempted to go for the blue, but the black i thought looked better, and i wanted a 5 string. The B is brilliant, certainly as good as the stingrays i reckon, which i definatly didnt expect, and iv still not found any finishing flaws also managed to have a play at louder volume now, and it sounds really good, like a stingrays but with more mids, very nice

Aria STB-GT5

i got it for £220 including saturday shipping, which i thought was fair at the time, and now that iv seen and played it in real life i can say its very fair String spacing feels the same as my stingray, so id imagine 17.5mm?

Aria STB-GT5

well i just recieved one of these babies in the post very early this morning (damn parcelforce) At the moment i am very impressed. The finish is flawless, and does not make me think of a low-mid end instrument. The neck has a gloss finish all over very well applied and feels great, and the inlays are just beautiful. Everything seems to be put together real well, the only complaint i have is that the battery cover is a bit flimsy on the back, but other than that, no complaints whatsoever. Obviously iv only been able to play it through headphones at this time on a saturday, but it sound very nice, preamp isnt noisy at all and the pickup seems very decent indeed. The bass has come with a pretty good set up on it, not sure whether this is the factory setup or whether the shop i bought it from has set it up, all i had to do was lower the bridge saddles by 1/4 turn and raise the pickup slightly and it was ready to play! Think the highlight at the moment though is the neck, it feels real good I might try n get some decent pics up in gear porn later on if i have the time. Okay, its not my status stingray, but its certainly impressed me .
12.
In my defence: 1. I still have a '78 2. I now have a real man's bass (Telecaster). Moving from P to T is the the low-end equivalent of a move from from Jen to Angelina C
more like sarah palin to anne widdecomb
13. it was offers over £280, which is a great price
14. £899 for a couple of stingray 4's.... http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/product-detail.asp?prod=3383 typical soundcontrol/reverb f*** up in terms of pictures not matching description, but certainly worth checking out
15.
very individual bass but defianetly not worth the money http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Electric-BASS-...1QQcmdZViewItem
wow, officially the worst looking bass i have ever seen, i cant imagine how any normal person could like that, for any type of music
16.
Check it out
wow, the squier jazz has a much nice tone than the custom shop
17. Jon came round today to pick up my status graphite stingray neck, nice an easy, top bloke!
18. if they didnt have art prices, id like them. But at the prices he charges, its just a bit silly
19. i was expecting them to be more than that, i thought i liked the black the best, but that sunburst one looks gorgoeus, such a massive improvment on the standard epi model
20.
Was it the blue ish colour one??? No pics as i dont have it till Friday!
is it the same colour as this one: If so yeah its probably the same one
21.
thanks T if it was a 4 i would be more pleased..and keep it the build is solid and the paint..although not razz a matazz....is top notch as for the tone variations..endless looking for a good jazz cheers
i so agree with that, you get alot of people saying stingrays are one trick ponys, that may be true with a 4 string but the stingray 5's have got all kinds of tones available with the pickup switching and the 3 band eq. Brilliant bass, and yours looks a very nice example, have a bump
22.
I've just bought it for £999 as a stop gap before i decide on my next bass!! Cheers Matt
The same one i played?? If so, nice one mate, i really enjoyed playing it
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Tja6_h4lT6A - pretty much that, but that sound isnt entirely chorus, he has quite a trebly middy sound anyway (not sure if he plays with a pick on this one too), but thats a pretty good example
thats a old boss flanger isnt it?? i didnt think he used chorus
