Neck wood could be one factor, Warwicks are often described as having growl in abundance and feature hard dense woods such as wegne and laminate construction. This also gives a very stiff neck ( My dolphin suffered from too little neck bow when using .100's) so perhaps the stiffness of the neck is more of a factor than the material, perhaps people with experiance of carbon necks might shed some light on this.
My stingray has more growl with its carbon neck than it did with its maple neck
2. yeah tis a little odd...obviously no questioning it is a wal though
3. if anyone has a couple spare, it would be muchos appreciated
4. humbuckers? close together pickups? pickups nearer bridge than the neck?? Guessing really, but i imagine they might be valid points...

7. this is giving me a real headache! i came very close to buying a black/rosewood one a while ago, and this has come at just the right time really, but then again that ovation magnum dangerboy is selling is also very, very tempting, hmmmm!
8.
Sorry, but what can Fender, or anyone else, do to a bass to make it worth nearly £2000?
also a good question

AMT Slap Bass

the member on here Higgie has tried one before and says its not bad, but nothing particularly special, which puts me off a little as he knows his gear! But i await a nice review agoulding! and sound samples
10. btw this might be of interest http://www.ovationtribute.com/Catalogues/M...r%20Manual.html
11. any way you could do sound samples? interested in hearing it
12. il be having one of those rockbass $$ if the price is right, look great
13. multi effect pedals in general, alot of boutique pedal snobs wouldnt even consider buyin digital multi effects, but some are in fact fantastic, the best value one imo is the zoom b2.1u, fantastic for the money. and from what iv heard from Ped the V-Bass is brilliant!
14. i dont think anyone in the world could stand on stage with that and not look cool, just wow
15. i really, really like that, let us know what you make out of it! If its oak, it will be heavy, but that wouldnt bother me as thats just cool

AMT Slap Bass

please do, iv been looking at this being very tempted to buy, but i think it costs a little too much for me to take a shot in the dark. Its basically a normal compressor with a drive knob, if you crank the drive to max you get a dirty overdriven tone from what iv heard, sounds fantastic
17.
Zoom 506ii pedal for me. Multi effects pedal, loads & loads of patches that could easily be customised & saved & it also had a built in tuner. Granted the sounds it could produce weren't that good quality wise but for a relatively inexpensive pedal it was great for a newbie experimenting with different bass sounds for the first time.
+1 Behringer compressor pedals, they are all great and equal the boss equivilants

help needed

yeah i think its as i originally said, its just the way the pedal is. By the sounds of things your bass has plenty of output so that shouldnt be a problem. Maybe a digital octaver is more up your street hell id even take a trade for the red llama
19. very true, although tbh it doesnt take too much effort just to check out the location on google maps seperatly anyways, thats what i always do
20. i have mine at about 2.5mm, which i guess is low-medium, and i wouldnt want it any lower or higher, im too aggressive for it to be lower but i like the action as low as my technique will allow
21. "This 21 fret, 34" scale neck is straight, and the action is great! (Action and playability are subjective. You should always expect to set up a guitar to your personal specifications!)" roughly translate to english from american: "I am a big fan of nice high action, and the bow in this neck pulls it off!"
22. nice to see 2 new designs, but i wont be interested in either. I agree that the stealth ray does look like something olp would have brought out...
