Chino from Seerkind (sings in my band) loves his muff but it doesn't agree with actives.
big muffs work absolutly fine with active basses, no issues at all with the 4 different versions iv owned with several active basses
2.
So brilliant you flirt with selling yours every 2 weeks?
perhaps you didnt enjoy the full student experience
3. well bristol is seen as the 'captial' of the southwest, along with maybe plymouth, so those two places would be the easiest to get to, and since bristol is in reachable distance of midlands people too, id say bristol. If its not in bristol, unless theres a mainline train station chances are i wont be able to come, same reason i couldnt make it to the SE bass bash
4. if its in bristol i will certainly be coming and il be bringing along my stati-ray and a couple of pedals. Pending how close it is to me i might be able to bring the blx amp, but thats unlikely
5. indeed Rehearsal Studios Two units for hire, Monday to Saturday 11am - 11pm Good size - 20 ft x 20 ft Daytime: minimum hire - 2 hours Evening: fixed session - 7 - 11pm Facilities include :- PA for vocals Optional drum kit Amps for hire i read that as two 20ft by 20ft rooms, reckon thats big enough?? hmm
6. does anyone know how big the DBM practice room is on gloucester road, bristol?
7. the valenti is a good offer, why dont you ask him if he will ship the bass to you first, and you send the ray once you have recieved. I think its fair enough really!
8.
I still have this is anyone's interested:-
dude wtf??
9.
There is no such place as Avon!
avon pretty much doesnt exist anymore, bristol is a county on its own
10.
DBM on Gloucester Rd, the Drum bit is opposite teh Texaco at the Somerville road junction, the guitar bit is 100 yards north of that on the right. 300 yards south of that, opposite The Prom music bar is a place that sells used basses, amps, cabs, effects, mics and stuff (and load of disco stuff). Not cut price but their stuff tends to be on the "beginners" side. Hand holding may be difficult to find in a shop so signing up for some lessons is the best way to go .. most tutors also know of gear for sale by their students upgrading so a call to a few may resolve things. The Folk House on Park Street has some courses, they used to do a blues workshop course where a bass player could go alongside 6 stringers, etc http://www.bristolfolkhouse.co.uk/index.html There's probably other adult education courses that may work for your friend. Also have a trawl round the Bristol Rocks Website http://www.bristolrock.co.uk/ Loads of stuff there. That should keep them busy for a bit.
dbm is just one combined shop now
11. the aesthetics of a bass are pretty much on a par with its playability when im looking to buy. I dont care how good it sounds, i aint playing something that looks like its just come out of a curry eating alcoholic gorilla's arse as far as tone goes, all in the fingers and what is amplifying it.
12. just for those who are currency illiterate, that comes to about £2174 at todays exchange rate, + whatever shipping charge it might be (no idea from europe)
13. top of gloucestshire to lands end is all the south west, and im fairly sure its the biggest area in england
14. imagine if that had black body n neck binding....
15.
Was it a Wal then...?
indeed it was i think it was a ray 5 on a few tracks, but a ray 4 did not appear on the album
16. such a shame, blue pearl is beautiful in the flesh too just dont get the market, its all over the place pity he had to make the bssm comment though.......
17. good for you mate, these are worth every penny
18. this guy holds the record for the greatest comeback to someone questioning the originality of a bass, dude you seem like a legend come back
19.
Does anyone know if the Signal Pad could possibly be used with active basses, to make active-unfriendly fuzz pedals usable?
it only adjusts the volume of the signal. Volume has nothing to do with why active basses f*** up fuzzes, its all about the low impedance they have, and this unit does not raise impedance, so unfortunatly no, this wouldnt work for that
20. dont get me started on CSI. NEVER ask a real forensic scientist what they think of CSI...... if i get pedantic, switch the light on or drawing the curtains would disturb the scene, and possibly could disturb evidence the crime scene lights are brilliant for finding various types of liquids too.....
21.
Bring up the advanced edit option and click on the manage poll option and have a fiddle with that. If still no joy would you want me to start another thread with one?
btw, dont wanna start a mass debate (say that as one word ), but i nearly spat my guinness out reading your under avatar bit
22. my peavey grind and the contraversial P were both a little quieter when slapped, but my SUB was louder too
