1. some people cant play 5 strings properly and get confused with muting the strings etc, hence why it may not appear to sound as good. A competant player would not say that one sounded better than the other, just that the 5 string with the low b/high c is more flexible. Im not a competant player, so i say 5 is better
2. +1 for passive basses and ashdown amps il add £2000 + instruments and fender copies (sadowsky particularly)
3. bump, some interest but thats about it £40 shipped, i may still sell the vesta if someone wants them both, if so £65 shipped
4. im not bothered now tbh, the bass didnt get damaged in transit so it was all good, of course would have been a completly different story had it been damaged in transit...
5.
You’ve got to read all the T&C’s mate – a lot of couriers don’t insure musical instruments over about £150 but they’ll happily take your cash for it. If you’re giving APC a -1 for this, then realistically a -1 should go to all couriers who don’t insure musical instruments cos they’ll all be happy to take the cash and not provide the insurance.
i dealed with them at their depot. i was asked the contents of the package, and i replied bass in a hardcase, he then asked did i want insurance, and i said yeah, its worth £700, so he said itd be insured for £1000 for £xx (cant remember). Whether i read t&c or not, i dont think that is acceptable.
6. i think iv already said this, but since there doesnt appear to be any negative for apc, they are gettin a -1 from me, sold me £1000 insurance for my bass, and i later found out they didnt insure instruments!
7. someone in surrey should snap this up, cant go much wrong for that price

Muse Bass Sound

im pretty sure muscle museum is the bass line and a piano, the bassline being heavily compressed as tom said, with a nice bit of overdrive in the chorus
10.
Rough guide, my personal opinion, worst at the top: Affinity Standard Artist* Deluxe* CV* VM* *All roughly on par with each other Rough guide mind you, individual models may vary
thats why its always best to try several of each type before buying one of them, some vm's could be dogs, and some afinity's could be swans, ya just dont know
11. il trade you for this 2 birds with one stone

13.
The bass market is very fluid. You can get some stonking bargains and then see some basses sell for more than you'd think. - It's just the timing/luck of you selling what someone else has suddenly got massive GAS for.
+1, a few months ago a completly standard black/rosewood stingray 3eq sold for £850 BIN, whilst the next one i saw of the same model sold for £510, its all about the right buyer at the right time. Anyone wanting to sell their 'ray id advise unless they need quick money NOT to lower their price without giving it a good few weeks on here or ebay, chances are you might get more than you think
