1. i very much like that, iv emailed him anyways...
2. i certainly wood (), i would find it very useful, especially on jazz type basses fwiw, im a fingerer and a slapper (no twists please!)
3. oh yess, i do have a little chuckle when i see the occasional patch on a student on the dance floor when im working behind the bar even funnier if it wasnt there earlier in the night
4. exxxxxxxactly
5. don't buy anything new until you have sold something to the same/greater amount although thats not really a new year resolution, iv been doing that since september...
6.
You're all talking bollox. It's an official ltd edition release of a head Ampeg made as Gene Simmons signature model. He didn't 'personally' sign it, but it is a printed facsimile of an autograph he did for them. I wouldn't buy it though.... it's just a normal Ampeg with a slightly different frontage....
we arnt on about the amp, im on about the bass link posted in the first post.... the amp pic was for comparing signatures
7. don't quote me, but i would image if they are blade magnets as you said, there will be no problem
8. if you have a cash offer dont hold back i'd just rather not part with this bass until i know i have another.
9.
What and have Kev and the other price nazi's jump down my throat saying they saw one in a gutter recently with a £20 price tag on it. I think not
please tell me when i last critisized anyone about having a high price, im most intrigued
10. the effort put into that listing is pathetic.
11.
The muff is famed for it. Chino from Seerkind (sings in my band) loves his muff but it doesn't agree with actives.
big muffs work absolutly fine with active basses, no issues at all with the 4 different versions iv owned with several active basses
12.
So brilliant you flirt with selling yours every 2 weeks?
perhaps you didnt enjoy the full student experience
13. ray 5's are brilliant, you wont look back
14. well bristol is seen as the 'captial' of the southwest, along with maybe plymouth, so those two places would be the easiest to get to, and since bristol is in reachable distance of midlands people too, id say bristol. If its not in bristol, unless theres a mainline train station chances are i wont be able to come, same reason i couldnt make it to the SE bass bash
15. oh deary, deary me.
16. if its in bristol i will certainly be coming and il be bringing along my stati-ray and a couple of pedals. Pending how close it is to me i might be able to bring the blx amp, but thats unlikely
17. indeed Rehearsal Studios Two units for hire, Monday to Saturday 11am - 11pm Good size - 20 ft x 20 ft Daytime: minimum hire - 2 hours Evening: fixed session - 7 - 11pm Facilities include :- PA for vocals Optional drum kit Amps for hire i read that as two 20ft by 20ft rooms, reckon thats big enough?? hmm
18. does anyone know how big the DBM practice room is on gloucester road, bristol?
19. the valenti is a good offer, why dont you ask him if he will ship the bass to you first, and you send the ray once you have recieved. I think its fair enough really!
20.
I still have this is anyone's interested:-
dude wtf??
21. what stingray models arn't made with ash??
22.
There is no such place as Avon!
avon pretty much doesnt exist anymore, bristol is a county on its own
23.
DBM on Gloucester Rd, the Drum bit is opposite teh Texaco at the Somerville road junction, the guitar bit is 100 yards north of that on the right. 300 yards south of that, opposite The Prom music bar is a place that sells used basses, amps, cabs, effects, mics and stuff (and load of disco stuff). Not cut price but their stuff tends to be on the "beginners" side. Hand holding may be difficult to find in a shop so signing up for some lessons is the best way to go .. most tutors also know of gear for sale by their students upgrading so a call to a few may resolve things. The Folk House on Park Street has some courses, they used to do a blues workshop course where a bass player could go alongside 6 stringers, etc http://www.bristolfolkhouse.co.uk/index.html There's probably other adult education courses that may work for your friend. Also have a trawl round the Bristol Rocks Website http://www.bristolrock.co.uk/ Loads of stuff there. That should keep them busy for a bit.
dbm is just one combined shop now
24. the aesthetics of a bass are pretty much on a par with its playability when im looking to buy. I dont care how good it sounds, i aint playing something that looks like its just come out of a curry eating alcoholic gorilla's arse as far as tone goes, all in the fingers and what is amplifying it.
25. just for those who are currency illiterate, that comes to about £2174 at todays exchange rate, + whatever shipping charge it might be (no idea from europe)
