1. what are you tryin to do with it?? do you know how to use a limiter?? i have also just bought one, n it works perfect as a very transparant limiter. i like the enhancer around 9 o clock for a tiny bit extra bite, any further and yeah you get hiss, but unless you have got a high treble amp (your a bassist, why would you) theres practically no hiss at lower settings. if you have played around with the knobs and have no effect, then theres something up with it. the enhancer is pretty extreme at max settings, not in a good way either, but used sparingly its great. i use the limiter to tame the volume boost i get from runnin a fuzz into my filter, works great.
2. i'd happily lend out cabs to people i trust (if i had any cabs), and maybe people i dont know with a suitable deposit, but i wont lend my amp or effect to anyone and NEVER my bass
3.
I was speaking to Martin about this today and its not just another valve overdrive pedal (as it uses a different tube type as mentioned above all the others are 12ax7 designs?), it doubles up as a power supply as well and apparently can do anything from cleanish to better than big muff sounds to full on fuzzzzzzzzz, if I had the cash I'd give it a whirl as Martin's work is top notch, I've tried one of the gremlins and realy liked it and he's fixed up a few pedals fr me as well.
im sure its a great pedal, but if you consider the likes of dha and owen electronics are very similar in that its very difficult to try before you buy. For the kinda money owen are asking you can get the top range dha valve pedal, which when you compare features appears far better value for money straight off. i think if they knocked it down to £199 they'd more than make up for it with extra sales

Colours!

blue dawn is my fave finish off all time, no bias there other than that, cant beat a good black or white finish, natural and sunburst are deal breakers for me

Boss GT10B
I was gonna buy a Boss GT as I used to own a Boss SE-70 back in the day I recently purchased the Zoom B9 1ut and tbh I love it but then again everyone has their own taste /way of working hope this sheds some light on it for you , all the best .
whats the zoom like? think your the first person i know who has one

Boss GT10B

i did love my gt6b, but i guess i just craved analog sound which is why i sold mine....but then bought a b2.1u to join my other effects a few months later ...but now thats sold too and my board currently is 100% analog id recommend you dont buy the gt10b unless theres a feature that you like about it over the gt6b. i cant imagine the quality of effects withh be that different. if you wanted the latest large multi effect, i would certainly look at the new Zoom b9.1ut or whatever its called, looks the mutts nuts
8. iv wanted this ever since i saw a picture of it in gear porn, i hope it sells to a well established member on here so it stays in the community!
9.
Sounds cool. Do you not miss a wah? I couldn't live without a wah pedal. Maybe you should try an XP-100? I'd lend mine to you if you were closer.
the xp-100 is the whammy i would buy if i were to buy one again, since i cant afford a wh1 and the other two just wernt that good im preffering envelope filter tones at the moment, if i wanted to i could get the pigtronix modified so that i had some more expression pedals for different paramaters, like the sensitivity or resonance, which is cool but im all spent out at the moment so thatl have to wait
10.
Why not? What wah is it Kev? And what's that DOD-alike OD? Get a whammy for your octave, it'll be more fun.
when i buy whammys i always end up selling them! iv had the wh1, wh2 and wh4 and sold them all for one reason or t'other it aint a wah, its a expression pedal for the pigtronix, built like a brick shithouse and weighs about twice the pedal! the overdrive is a rare metal japanese overdrive made by vesta fire, brilliant pedal, flimsy footswitch but good bypass and sounds superb, very effective flexible eq on it too, zero low end loss with the bass knob at 3:00 or beyond
11. because its compeltly transparant, noiseless, and perfectly effective limiter for what i need, plastic case wont bother me as it will be always on so will never be stomped on, so why spend more? for comparison, the boss limiter colours the sound more than this, to my ears the behringer doesnt change tone whatsoever
12. complete for now i think although an octaver would give me the phattest synth tone everrrrrr.....
13. thatl just be the sound of that active bass, not the fact that its active
14. hmmm, i dont see how anyone would have beaten you unless they were REALLY quick at emailing him
15.
Hey Dude, Yeah, I remember the Russian muff wasnt too keen on actives either. At the time I was looking for a new fuzz though (when I saw the Bass BM), I found another fuzz that blew my mind, the Earthbound Effects Supercollider which I'm currently waiting on... It's finished and coming my way this week. That pedal will complete my board, when I have it, I'll post some pics of the completed board.
have to totally disagree there, iv had all the russian muff varieties, and they all work great with active basses
16.
Here's a link to a Mu-tron III if it helps.
id recommend a qtron over that, the haz lab reissues have a bad reputation, dont bother unless its the real thing
17. why are all 3 identical threads on this subject active let us know what his reply to that is wayne
18. yeah i had one for a while...to be honest i can't really remember, i think there was no loss of low end im not sure, nice sounding light overdrive though, nice and versitle eq, i think you better try one first though
19. this has so come up at the wrong time
20. to be honest, i quite like it, i love quirky stuff, but there is no way in hell he will get anything greater than £450-£500 for it, you paint a stagg like that, not a bloody stingray!
21. good effort guys, lets get this thread moving, if enough samples get posted i may edit the original post so all the samples are at the top
22. hey dude, the hondo one for £50 is the one with the black pickguard right?? that fact that your in bristol makes that very tempting, hows the action?
