SOLD

i think i rememeber this selling around the £500 mark a few months ago?? lovely bass, nice that its got the collectors vibe too, and it has one of those necks have a bump
  5. i am absolutly loving the pigtronix envelope phaser at the minute, really REALLY good pedal, but a little pricey. What are you after, subtle or extreme?? the pigtronix can do both, but if your after a more subtle filter the boomstick bottomfeeder gets good review, and i think there is one for sale in the classifieds.
  6. the newer musicman's (musicmen?) have the waxy kinda finish to them, which i aint that keen on as i find it makes the neck kinda sticky. i think you'd be lookin at late eighties/early nineties for a gloss finished neck?
  7. mike is asking if it is a vmj neck or not, why are you accusing him of saying he thinks its being sold as a fender?! fwiw i reckon its exactly what you say, a vmj neck with fender decal. It might be worth a bid if it goes no higher, but much higher and you may as well save a bit more for a geddy neck

    Ladder

  9.
Shame it's only worth about £575 now
over my dead body
  10.
Hey, bassmankev, I just spotted you also have an old VestaFire pedal and was curious as to what model it is? I've had their MDX (Digital Delay with Modulation) pedal since about the mid-80's. Aside from having to replace the switch a few years back, it's still going strong.
indeed i have! i have the vesta ovd overdrive, brilliant pedal, and for the price i got it for, right chuffed hows the delay?
  11.
hahaha I see it's deleted now eh kev? numpty! looks like nobody was that interested anyways haha [/overusageofemoticons]
not on gumtree no, but on here i had a few nibbles, in particular a trade with that flea bass with the randy inlay, but i came to my senses EDIT: i didn't delete that listing.....it was working when i clicked on it earlier and now its not, is that a massive coincedence that it has just expired now or something????

sounds like you got sent the xp100 or the wh1, the latter certainly works great with bass, never tried the xp100 but heard great things
  13.
It is feasible that someone is fastidious about looking after their gear... the assertion that if it's been played for 20 years then it has to look like crap (sorry, I mean "have heaps of mojo") seems short sighted to me.
maybe, but with fenders quality control history not being great, id feel more confident about the instrument if it had a few more battle scars. for the record i dont like mojo, and i would never buy an old bass like this as i dont see the point or benefit, but this seems suspiciously clean
  14. lol i had no idea i hadnt deleted that! for the record, that is NOT for sale!

the mind boggles i can pretty much 95% guarantee that the person that pays that much has probably never played one before, or maybe has it in their head that the guitar whammy's dont work with bass, which of course they do just as well as the bass whammy (with the exception of the wh2, which cant handle below a) and even for the tool fanboys... correct me if im wrong but the xp100 does all the bass whammy harmonies as well, plus a hell of a lot more and wah settings, and they sell for about $150....
  16. £1 a watt?? superbefull (new word)
  17.
Yeah, some people are going nuts, i think it's a case of if there's not somebody that's found their dream bass then it'll go cheap, but by the looks of it there are some people that have just really found the bass they've been looking for... Maybe, i don't know. They're worth £850 though i know that.
+1 as you said, its just the right buyer at the right time, and its exactly why stingray sellers should only reduce their prices below £600-£650 if they absolutly cannot wait any longer for the money
  18. the red pedal is a way huge red llama clone, tis nice, and gives me the killer synth sound with the pigtronix

  21. just harmless fun
  22.
Here's hoping. I'm kinda limited though as I only like natural or black. I don't fancy any of the coloured ones - maybe a Blue Dawn but they never come up. The crazy thing is that 2 days after that £531 one went this one sold for almost 200 quid more.
the prices really are all over the place, a couple of weekss ago a completly standard 3 band black/maple with a few dings sold for £850 on auction... iirc the one before that went for just short of £600, and that had a matching headstock
  23.
I was watching it too. I don't think it is that much of a bargain really - maybe if it had stayed as it did in the low 400's for days. It looks like there's a lot of work to be done stripping it back and sourcing original pre EB parts won't be easy either. Looks like he went at it with a brillo pad. Now THIS one was a bargain. I very nearly pulled the plug on it but I was put of (as I'm sure most people were) by the fact that it was his first auction on ebags. I'm still kicking myself for it now.
not much of a bargain really mate, i doubt youl have to wait long before another ray goes that cheap on ebay, theres at least once a week at the moment
  24. if that is completly original, id be very wary, as that just doesnt look like its been played, whoch isnt a good sign as far as how good a bass it is...
