1. as far as i know, its filled with foam of some sort. im pretty much 100% theres no wood involved i think if anyone is thinking of modding it to 6 bolt, they should contact rob for his opinion, he knows best! otherwise, 4 bolt owners buy it !
2. im just imagining putting a graphite neck on that.....nice thoughts how comes you want to sell it?? dont like fivers or just dont like stingrays?!
3. id love this, i gunna find it very hard to resist once my loan is in, but i imagine it would be sold in 3 weeks time!
4. iirc i think the area which you drill into is specially reinforced so that this wouldnt be a problem....
5. iv gotta say, i do still like it, just a pity its a sterling not a stingray!
6. this is a brilliant chance to turn your stingray into a proper high end super bass, the difference is fantastic! anyone who has a 4 bolt stingray should strongly consider it, i guess it maybe could be modified to 6 bolt? although i dont know id say somewere around £200-£250 would be a good price
7.
Checkout post #26 http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...8218&page=2
now you see i dont like those samples, i dont think the odb-3 works very well with the sansamp, sounds quite brittle and too much high end, however there are 2 samples that doesnt use the sansamp, 3rd from last and last, which i like a lot, 2nd one particularly isnt far off how i use mine

13. this is an over-rated thread, since when has behringer been over-rated??
14. personally i dont think id ever spend upwards of £500 on a peavey bass of any sort have a look at toby pro's, shockwave off the forum may be selling a shuker 6 string for around £700 ish in the near future

How do I get this tone
LOL here we go gain... IMO The PD7 is the best you can buy for that kind of price. That's some PHAT, punchy, LOW-mid-rich distortion. I think you need to buy a bigger combo. Downsides are it kills the dynamics a bit (sounds overly compressed). The Distortion setting is very good, the Overdrive setting is ok but the Attack setting is useless. I think neither the PD7 or the ODB-3 lose low end. However, the ODB-3 ADDS high end, so maybe that's why people have that impression. But all this is irrelevant to the topic at hand, as I don't think you can get even closer to that tone with any of them...
we obviously have VERY different opinions when it comes to distortion, i think we should leave it at that! after having a more closer listen, i think im inclined to agree its a sansamp, but still think that the fact that its a p pickup is key to that tone
17. +1 for TNT and for Parceline DPD, sent and recieved with both of these couriers recently, latter via interparcel, and they were very quick and efficient, DPD delivered a bass minimal fuss to ireland very quickly
18. if thats a genuine musicman pickup, theres no way that was factory installed if not, then interesting, but too expensive
19. point is, you need to try them both, and make your own conclusions
20. indeed it is. and remember it has mullards in it, which would set you back a fair bit alone
21. suprised nobody has gone for this, i think its quite attractive bump
22. oof, an x blender, man i wish i still had my effects board to use with this
23. aye, not too bad a price, looks like a decent bass
