Snob! SansAmp or Hyperdrive?
haha! i have two pedals, a boss and a zoom, i am one of the least snobby effects people in this forum!! behringer do great effects, but their overdrive effect is just sh*te, which is what i was reffering to
  4. from the sounds samples iv heard, id rather have a black muff tbh, but iv never tried it i may have a bash at recording some samples of the odb-3 to show how good a pedal it is tomorrow, although my laptops sound card cant handle distortion so this could pose a problem
Are you saying that I need to overdrive a valve amp to get that sound then? My Laney B1 has valve and FET preamp stages that can be used in exclusion or blended. The valve section has a DRIVE and a GAIN control. Increasing the drive does introduce distortion but, by my ears, it's not a very pleasant distortion
i think what i mean is, for that tone, itd have to be a passive p bass running into a generic bass overdrive/distortion, its nothing special, but i think you wouldnt get the tone unless you had a precision pickup. i could be wrong, it is a VERY short little section
Go for an Ibanez pd7 bass overdrive pedal, you can dial in distortion or overdrive without dumping the bass out of your sound as is a problem with the Boss overdrive ODB3 pedal. Plugging it into a guitar metal zone pedal you'll also lose the bass so Ibanez is your best bet.
are you kidding me??? iv owned both, at the same time, and the bottom end of the odb-3 is just far better and more defined than the pd7, which sounds like a behringer in comparison imo. how can you say that it 'dumps the bass out of your sound' when it has a wet/dry blend AND a low eq boost?! the pd7 definatly wasnt for me, i found the distortion to be too high middy, which i hate, but of course one man's carragher is another man's ferdinand...

just sounds like a regular overdriven P sound
  8. in the order you said them, but you can interchange the hyperdrive and the wah depending on what sound your after, they produce very different sounds, both are awesome for different things. As an eq and amp model, id always have the zoom last, just makes sense, and plus you can headphone jam and use the drum machine and stuff without the other effects getting in the way
  9. upload the sample as an attachment on this forum using the attachements function, let basschat host it
  10. soo close to having a desired bass..... currently in envy of outoplayjazz's 5 string S2 with maple/graphite neck, stunning
  11.
What do you think is a fair price then?
for me, a tenner, but somebody who needs it for a spare speaker they have or sumit, i guess around 40 or 50. its just a bit of cheap wood with an ashdown logo on it.
  12. that red passion in 5 string would be dangorous for my health...
  13. you've not butchered your red sub??

  15.
It is a nice player admitedly, but Im just bitter over the fact I was blatantly lied to in this auction, its not a sterling pickup, theres no third dummy coil, its just a standard olp bass. Not wanting to start sounding paranoid here, but Im wondering , because it took him several days after auction until he shipped it, if the guy was unhappy with the low amount it sold for and took the sterling pup out and banged the old one back in. Anyways watch this space for any news
that could be exactly what he did, very interesting, keep up updated!
  16. OLP body sold on ebay for £72, missed out on a bargain guys stagg is still available for pickup only
  17. 10%, just wow. doesnt really bother me as i always sell for more than i think its worth on ebay to pay for the fees, but damn

possibly, i'l have a look throught the manual again... edit: looks like you can't do it, which makes little sense to me tbh, and the external exp pedal can only work as a volume pedal
