5.
Thanks, it's a fine looking bass, very tempting !. Does anyone know if I'd have to pay import tax on bringing this into the UK ?.
isnt norway in the EU?? if so, you'l pay no import tax
6. fenders are poo
7.
If the 4 bolt holes don't line up you'll encounter the same uncertainty as with a 6 bolt neck. If the neck heel is filled with solid MDF as I suspect it might be then its not going to be a big deal. Just get some wood filler or epoxy putty and fill the holes.
i dont think it is mdf, but anyways we need to stop speculating!! if anyone wants to know, give rob an email, he's a great guy BUMP, lets get this bass neck sold
8.
- stereo jacks get used in guitars for two reasons: to carry two separate signals (rarely), or to turn on the power to active electronics (much more common). If neither of those apply to you, then a mono jack is fine. If you have only a stereo jack to hand, wire up the tip and sleeve only, skip the ring (middle) contact. - you need only the controls that do the functions you're going to use - so if you use a volume pedal, and change tone through effects, then you could do without any in-bass controls at all. Sod's Law still applies, however...
ha, i didnt know thats what stereo jacks were for, makes sense really, learn something knew every day
9. if your mp3 player isn't wma compatible, then thatl be the problem. anything windows media player syncs to a mp3 player is converted to wma first
10. as far as i know, its filled with foam of some sort. im pretty much 100% theres no wood involved i think if anyone is thinking of modding it to 6 bolt, they should contact rob for his opinion, he knows best! otherwise, 4 bolt owners buy it !
11. im just imagining putting a graphite neck on that.....nice thoughts how comes you want to sell it?? dont like fivers or just dont like stingrays?!
12. id love this, i gunna find it very hard to resist once my loan is in, but i imagine it would be sold in 3 weeks time!
13. iirc i think the area which you drill into is specially reinforced so that this wouldnt be a problem....
14. iv gotta say, i do still like it, just a pity its a sterling not a stingray!
15. this is a brilliant chance to turn your stingray into a proper high end super bass, the difference is fantastic! anyone who has a 4 bolt stingray should strongly consider it, i guess it maybe could be modified to 6 bolt? although i dont know id say somewere around £200-£250 would be a good price
16.
Checkout post #26 http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...8218&page=2
now you see i dont like those samples, i dont think the odb-3 works very well with the sansamp, sounds quite brittle and too much high end, however there are 2 samples that doesnt use the sansamp, 3rd from last and last, which i like a lot, 2nd one particularly isnt far off how i use mine
17.
not so cheap yamaha guitars.........just stick with making keyboards or pianos!
+1
18.
Would you accept £300 cash for your Cort Funkmachine II? and I can pick it up. Regards Joe
brilliant offer, if you want it sold dont turn it down!

20. i just use my normal 2 fingers when i play that song
21. welcome! you'll find this place ultimatly better than that other 'forum' talkbass, i hate it over there, i once got an official warning for saying 'sh*t' in a post, wtf!
22. this is an over-rated thread, since when has behringer been over-rated??
23. personally i dont think id ever spend upwards of £500 on a peavey bass of any sort have a look at toby pro's, shockwave off the forum may be selling a shuker 6 string for around £700 ish in the near future

How do I get this tone
LOL here we go gain... IMO The PD7 is the best you can buy for that kind of price. That's some PHAT, punchy, LOW-mid-rich distortion. I think you need to buy a bigger combo. Downsides are it kills the dynamics a bit (sounds overly compressed). The Distortion setting is very good, the Overdrive setting is ok but the Attack setting is useless. I think neither the PD7 or the ODB-3 lose low end. However, the ODB-3 ADDS high end, so maybe that's why people have that impression. But all this is irrelevant to the topic at hand, as I don't think you can get even closer to that tone with any of them...
we obviously have VERY different opinions when it comes to distortion, i think we should leave it at that! after having a more closer listen, i think im inclined to agree its a sansamp, but still think that the fact that its a p pickup is key to that tone
