1. the mullard valve supplied with it cost me £23 on top of that, which means i spent £143 for it, and the pedal is in the same condition as it was when it left dave hall, mint. considering that im selling for £25 less than dave hall does new, without a 3 week waiting time, and the best ax7 preamp valve you can buy, id say it was a great price please pm me with any more price queries next time
2. i like it, clever name imo that red one looks lovely
3. karma for trying to buy a girls instrument get a stingray man! and really, dont go through with that, dodgy as a nun in a brothel
4.
Yes that's exactly what I meant! If you post the serial on the EB forum, they will tell you what day it was completed Mine was completed on the 12th July 2002 and sent to Bass Northwest
indeed first thing i did when i got it, august 19th or 21st 2001, cant remember which
5. give ernie ball a quick email with the serial number, they will tell you what month it was builit in plus if you take the neck off, a date stamp can be found on the neck pocket (tis on mine anyways)
6. not as common as fenders or their copies! id like to hope my ray is the only one like it, the blue dawn finish is pretty damn rare anyways, so im fairly confident mine is the only one with a status graphite neck
7. tbh mate rather than it just being not able to hold on to gear, i think i just getting bored of effects now, im finding myself preffering my clean tone more and more. il be holding on to my stingray for a long, long time, i gurantee you that
8. not sure iv ever heard a passive wal before...how do they compare?
9. i'v decided i prefer the clean tone of my status/stingray at the moment (i used this pedal as an always on preamp), so iv been using it as a valve fuzz/distortion, but i dont really need it for that either, and at the moment im a little too short on money to have something worth £140 that i dont use that much
10. i talked about it in the review its a lower gain sound than the EH, sounds far better than the eh imo, bottom end is very well defined, and its not as sparkly as the eh is, which is definatly a plus from me. the valve just has more character and every note rings crystal clear basically the best way i can describe the difference is that the EH just sounds 'cheap' next to the mullard. turning up the gain it goes into a valve distortion quite nicely, thats how im currently using it now, but i dont really need that sound, hence the sale
11. get over to the introductions forum and make a new thread tellin us a bit about you and what you play iv been playing 2 years, and just in case you didn't realise it was me who linked you to here
12. is there any chance of bass sound samples of the android?
13. well my dha is up for sale now too, so i might be level with ya soon~!
14. an replied a crowther prunes n custard would be a trade id be interested in, anyone got one?
15. £600-£650 in the current market i reckon, could be wrong though... pics would help
16. iv decided that in my major cutdown of effects gear that this is the latest pedal to get the chop. It is a fantastic unit, which creates lovely valve tones and crunch and with the 3 band eq with mid Q control its very versitle read my full review of it here, as well as a picture: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=21764 basically selling as i think im moving more towards solid state sounds again (i used this as an always on preamp rather than an effect), and i don't use it for the high gain sounds it can produce. At the moment it is loaded with the Mullard 12ax7 tube in good condition, plenty of life left in it, im sure you all know about this probably being the best 12ax7 ever made, and can only be bought on ebay for £20+. il also include with the sale the orignal electro harmonix 12ax7 that came standard with the pedal. I think dave sells these £145 new, so my price will be [s]£120 shipped[/s] Now £110 shipped including BOTH valves. if you dont want the mullard (for whatever crazy reason ) and are happy with just the electro harmonix tube, i will sell for [s]£110 shipped[/s] now £100 shipped very much interested in trades, something synthy or a high end fuzz i would be interested in, certainly nothing subtle let me know
17. i want commission if this sells hang around jimmy, its a good place to be
18. i could possibly make it down, pending uni stuff, but id be comin by train so i wouldnt be able to bring and amp, probably just my 'ray
19. check my sig, thats pretty much it, just 3 measly pedals! meh, im so happy with my status/stingray at the moment i dont need effects
20. have a look at this: http://www.garywillis.com/pages/bass/bassm...etupmanual.html totally understand if your nervous about adjusting the truss rod, but this guide breaks it down nicely, and will save you the £££'s have a read
