Stingray 5

i think id go for chrome knobs as well you big puff
4. i walked into reverb last week whilst staff were engaging in a bit of football with what looked like a pack of strap locks...
5. id go for reverb with plenty of modes, a phaser which has plenty of options to make it sound chorusy and what not, and delay
6.
Anyone fancy a Yamaha Nathan East BBII 5 string Bass finished in stunning white. Looking for £800 which i think is a fair price. E-mail me if you wish more info and photos. I am basd in the UK. Bass comes with hard case. Holiday to pay for so rushed sale haha
i don't understand what confusion there was tbh, he was asking for £800, not even offers around, just a straight up price of £800 unless iv missed something?
7. in my hugggggggge 2 years of playing i have owned: Fender Squier standard jazz bass: nice enough bass, cant remember much of it, only took me 2 months to reaslise i wanted something active Musicman SUB 4: i LOVED this bass, i basically learned using it, had it for about 18 months, looked dynamite with black on black and rosewood neck Peavey Grind 6: my first 6 strings, thought id give it a go! great bass for the money, sold it last week to fund another bass. OLP MM3: i owned this very briefly, nice enough bass, sounded okay but just felt a bit cheap, stingray's shouldnt be passive 'Contreversial' Fender customised PJ bass: yep you know the one... aggy preamp with emg's, looked fantastic, but i think i always preffered the way it looked to the way it sounded, still a great bass. Hudson PBS 6: FANTASTIC active string bass. i LOVE it so much, and im probably going to buy the 5 string version again when i have the cash. brilliant bass to play, very light and the spalt maple is fantastic! gutted i had to sell it for funds. Westfield Jazz Bass: My first project, bough it to mod the hell out of it! i replaced the neck, pickups, bridge and knobs, and added a pickup cover, it sounded and looked great! but againnnn passive jazzes i dont think are for me Musicman Stingray 5 'Blue Dawn': My baby, easily the best bass out of the lot, the finish is just gorgeous, and it sounds superb combined with my dave hall pedal and a bit of zoom reverb, superb, will take something very special to make me sell this! Status-Graphite Energy 4: my latest acquisition, bit of a bargain from ebay, needs a bit of a service on the electronics, but other than that its a lovely bass, very comfortable and nice to play, and the LED's just top off the look! thats quite alot for 2 years, isnt it........
8. lol the zoom has a usb output for recording, no excuse
9. where do some of you younger guys get the money from! when i was 16, the idea of me being able to afford a stingray bass was hillarious! although i didnt start playin bass til 2 years later...
10. tbh, whether the bass is worth £900 or not, listing it at £800 and adding £100 on because lots of people wanted to buy it IS greed im afraid, unless someone advised you to raise your price which would be acceptable, but just raising the price to see how much you could get is greed, if you wanted to sell at £800 you should have just sold it to the first person who offered IMO
11. if not, now the time to buy statii people!
12. cheers for comments guys
13. yeah iv just tried that n i just dont like it, horses for courses i guess!
14. how though?? im guessing you use it with attack off, but all i get is a very dull fuzz sound with far too much high mids and just generally lofi sounding
15.
Aint bumped in a while, so BUMP. Got offered £750 + Postage for the bongo but I didnt fancy shipping to Berlin. have I over priced these or is noone interested?
why didnt you got for that?? shipping to europe is easy, and he would be payin it anyways!
16. we all think that nah im very happy with my 2 basses, im sure once i get the pre working properly in the status il be delighted with it, but with a bit of zoom b2 eq'ing iv got it sounding pretty sweet even now. i wont be gettin a new bass anytime soon ,wont stop me lookin tho!
17.
Bless! I can never own more than one fretted comfortably, one always gets played more and ends up getting the chop. My #1 has seen off about 6 other so far! Enjoy it and enjoy playing on it now you are GAS free!
come on now, lets not be silly

20. seriously mate theres no need to worry about it
21. i know how to solder, its just im careless and iv damaged circuit boards in the past, and id rather just leave it. il probably get this and my stingray all serviced n that when my loan comes through. just finished setting up the bass, i imagine the neck will settle quite fast with the graphite in it n all, bass plays great, il try n get some photo's up soon! watch out in gear porn
22. well i cant afford to get it fixed so itl have to remain as it is til september the notch in the brass nut for the d strings is too large, but because the neck has a zero fret it doesnt seem to be causing any problems, looking at the fret wear at the d on the zero fret it looks like its been like that for sometime. but yeah the bass plays great, just tweaking the truss rod and action now, i like it led's are funky too. hopefully this will be a simple fix and il have a cracking bass for £200 seller is a good guy too, emailed him about the problem before i discovered that it was loose, and he offered to give me money back which i thought was sound of him. i of course refused as if it is just a loose or damaged pot, its parcelforce i have to blame. he swears it worked fine before he sent it, good enough for me
