Judging from this and your previous posts enquiring about various basses, you seem to be in the market for a J-type bass with about £2000 to spend? That's a massive market that encompasses everything from SX right through Fender, Bacchus on to Sadowsky, Lull and beyond to Fodera and Celinder. As you are probably finding just about every bass manufacturer/luthier offers something in J-type which can make the choice a little overwhelming... Once you are going to spend £1000 upwards you're very unlikely to get a bad bass, however you might not get the right bass for you. Unless you have disposable cash about to order without playing or you are prepared to trade your way through the basses that don't do it for you until you find "THE ONE", you are going to need to go and play some basses to figure out what appeals and what doesn't. Start by taking a day trip to London and spend some time at The Gallery. You might find what you like but even if you don't you'll have a better idea then just looking at pictures on web sites.
+1

Bass Big Muff

who knows, this could be a green muff reissue after all!
3. bump, had some interest but nothing solid yet price drop to £110 shipped including both valves and the power supply, or £100 without the Mullard, i will NOT go any lower than this
4.
I seriously can get a pick sound with my fingers. I'll try and do some sound samples, but it'll be a while before I can.
with or without nails?
5. well iv only ever owned 9 basses altogether, and currently have 2! when you fall down a 6ft hole, who gets the basses? (personally i think they should be raffled off on basschat )

8.
Don't think we've had a spangly blue one yet, so here's mine. Bought in 2000 and I haven't looked at another bass since
nice bass dude! is that sparkle paint or just metallic? if its a sparkle what colour is it? looks like metallic blue pearl but i could be wrong...
9.
depending on what 'pick' sound you're looking for but it may be worth trying out a Musicman bass or similar - I've heard those get a pick like attack with fingerstyle ? But yeah - persevere with the pick itself - a lot cheaper !
no, they don't, unless you attack with your fingers really hard and you use your nails, but thats the same with every bass i dont think you will ever get anything to sound like your using a pick unless you actually use a pick.
10.
i want this, i have the cash, i just dont know how im going to get to wales? anyone got ideas?
speedboat
11. you'll have to decide on a price mate, or you'll have limited interest. how much did you pay for it?
12.
i dont rate interparcel parcel2go are the cheapest iv come accross
i compeltly take that statement back, i got interparcel confused with another company, interparcel are in fact rather good
13. take your coat and get out
14. the mullard valve supplied with it cost me £23 on top of that, which means i spent £143 for it, and the pedal is in the same condition as it was when it left dave hall, mint. considering that im selling for £25 less than dave hall does new, without a 3 week waiting time, and the best ax7 preamp valve you can buy, id say it was a great price please pm me with any more price queries next time
15. i like it, clever name imo that red one looks lovely

Hey all!

welcome dude!
17. no worries mate, cheers
18. karma for trying to buy a girls instrument get a stingray man! and really, dont go through with that, dodgy as a nun in a brothel
19.
Yes that's exactly what I meant! If you post the serial on the EB forum, they will tell you what day it was completed Mine was completed on the 12th July 2002 and sent to Bass Northwest
indeed first thing i did when i got it, august 19th or 21st 2001, cant remember which
20. give ernie ball a quick email with the serial number, they will tell you what month it was builit in plus if you take the neck off, a date stamp can be found on the neck pocket (tis on mine anyways)
21. not as common as fenders or their copies! id like to hope my ray is the only one like it, the blue dawn finish is pretty damn rare anyways, so im fairly confident mine is the only one with a status graphite neck
22. tbh mate rather than it just being not able to hold on to gear, i think i just getting bored of effects now, im finding myself preffering my clean tone more and more. il be holding on to my stingray for a long, long time, i gurantee you that
23. not sure iv ever heard a passive wal before...how do they compare?
24. i'v decided i prefer the clean tone of my status/stingray at the moment (i used this pedal as an always on preamp), so iv been using it as a valve fuzz/distortion, but i dont really need it for that either, and at the moment im a little too short on money to have something worth £140 that i dont use that much
