A somewhat fleeting offering of my 2018 Music Man Stingray Special H 4 string. A bass has come up on here that I'm extremely keen on, this will be withdrawn on the sale of that. Absolutely no cash or trade offers. So this is a stunning example of the new StingRay Special basses, bought from Bass Direct used a few months ago. Early special so still has the lightweight swamp ash body (believe the newer models are heavier and "select hardwood" now) so is a lovely 8.5lb The finish is just incredible and not easy to come across now. The bass comes with a matte black guard as well as the standard stock b/w/b. Its also fitted with a matching D Tuner. Bass Direct ad and pics below. More available on request: Remains in the same condition as bought in, usual swirls on pickguards but thats about it. Comes with the Music Man hardcase and original E tuning key (machine only), fitted with Optima Gold Strings, which look rather splendid. I won't post this, happy to drive a reasonable distance to meet up. Generally trying to avoid house visits/collections at the mo due to Covid and vulnerable household members, so dodgy service station meet ideal. As mentioned, its only going to be available whilst the target bass is available, so recommend you act quickly if you want it

Bass the World hasn't really alleviated concerns by saying in their launch video that a lot of effects are riddled with glitches and need work. I don't know how much resource Darkglass are putting into the digital side. They promised a lot of exciting things to come when they launched the ADAM, but over a year after launch all they appear to have introduced is a noise gate simulator and 3 extra presets.

Whatever you do, do not pay by BACs or PayPal gift. PayPal goods only, volunteer to pay the fee if needed, if they say no then run a mile.
-
I mean to be fair to them, you've just described this release with that 😂
-
It's a shame if it's as it appears. When Doug was running the company, he was always adament that Darkglass wouldn't release anything that already exists in the market unless its a significant improvement or something new. I don't feel like this is something that would have qualified as that before.

Haven't had chance to check the video yet, but its a little aesthetically underwhelming. Not that it matters, but still, Darkglass tend to care about such things usually. Visually the same as any of their 500w amps.

You made me just look up the costs of a Gigrig pedalboard...absolutely insane! Still, that is a nice selection of pedals, any music to share showing it in action?

Pretty sure there's a free trial offer right now?

Honestly, Tidal's is much, much better that Spotify for me. Yesterday's daily mix I didn't even skip once!

When I heard Charlie when they first revealed it at the Camden show on the radio, I was so excited. But unfortunately it was one of only 2 or 3 funky tracks on there.

Stadium Arcadium was a frustrating release, as I feel that album condensed to a single disk would have enough variety to be really interesting, but as presented it was almost unlistenable without skipping through for me.

People generally don't like the success of others. It's quite an ugly human trait really.

RHCP write all their music through jamming, always have. I meant in the music, as opposed to them as performers. They all have a ridiculous amount of energy for their age!

Main thing your missing is that the Helix is actually a really nice design...

Ah interesting, I didn't have Scar Tissue in my head as the Californication lead. For me, BSSM is one of the best records of all time. In many ways its perfect for me. Naturally it has gone downhill from there, but Californication was a great record. As was By The Way. Stadium Arcadium was just full of filler, a real let down after much hype. If that's the route they've gone again, it'll be very disappointing. But its more because of a move away from funk and punk influences. Frusciante has evolved as a guitarist, but not in a negative way for me. Watching a live performance will show you he hasn't lost anything, he's just changed things up for new music. Mad that you don't hear progression since 1999. I would say each record since has been profoundly different, except maybe the two Josh records, which had a lot of common ground.
-
It's odd as a lead single. Their lead singes on every record I can remember have far more energy to it than this. Makes me a tad concerned about the album. Certainly agree it has Californication B Side vibes, which was Frusciante's first album back last time as well.

Love how you think he'd sit in a studio and accept the take if it was off in any way. It's his style, man! One of the most iconic styles ever recorded.

I'm lost as to why more people aren't using Tidal. I got it when it was more expensive, but now that its the same price as a lossy Spotify subscription, why stick with Spotify? Tidal has more content, more exclusive content, videos, slicker interface and of course has lossless music as standard. The daily mixes algorithm works much better on Tidal for me as well. Spotify is honestly garbage in comparison, and they've got themselves in a right pickle, promising HiFi but left it too long, and now they'll have to give it for free.

Sorry, but yuk. The headstock with that body looks terrible in my opinion. The whole package just look really cheap?
