Don't think I'd ever pay more than £40 odd for a knockoff like this. At £100 or whatever the landed price would end up being, thats 2nd hand B3K money for something that could be utter utter rubbish.
  2. It’s interesting how many struggle with the ADAM. It take a long time to figure out how to get the most from it, hated the distortions at first. But now I have it’s the most important pedal on my board. Do wonder how much being told it’s digital influences subconscious opinion on it, I can’t hear it sounds digital at all, but it’s too high gain as standard even with the update. But I agree, the vintage is definitely on its own in the Darkglass range for those warm tones.
  3. How about I cause some more confusion for you…consider the Darkglass ADAM 😉
  4. Wouldn't the Ultra just give you everything, rather than needing a separate IR loader pedal and tone shaper?
  5. Would love that argument with a soundguy! My word, I'd go full diva. If all venues are likely to have PA support and you use IEMs (or are happy to rely on stage monitors; again depends on the venues!) then the Vintage Ultra would suit you just fine. Sure it doesn't have compression, but dirt adds enough compression on its own, and if you find the clean lacking you can always grab a comp too? Still not a pedalboard. If you don't use IEMs and/or there is a good chance a venue won't have PA support, if you can afford it go for the amp. Don't worry about reliability too much, sure its a vocal minority and darkglass customer services is honestly second to none, they usually ship out a replacement before they even receive the faulty one back, next day UPS.

    Drop C#

Experiment with different 4 string gauges, basically! Standard super heavy sets with a 115 may be fine for you, I use a .120 for drop B but I prefer lighter strings. Its all personal preference really.
  7. One more sub and we hit 100! If someone could oblige 😂🏻

This is a proper grower. Listened to it again and it's damned fine I have to say. Awaiting more with keen interest.

  10. Gimme a link and I’ll get sub’d up too buddy 👍🏻
  11. My band are releasing music on Friday and I would REALLY appreciate basschatter support! Thread here: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/453821-awaken-eternity-progressive-metal-new-single/

  12. So my little band is releasing its debut single and music video on Friday! The track will be available to stream from midnight and the video premiere’s at 5pm. If it sounds like your thing, I would LOVE if you could presave the Spotify track and Subscribe to the YouTube channel on the links below. 20 seconds or so of your time would help us a lot! https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/awakeneternity/serenity
  13. mmmm. Darkglass as a company certainly ended my search for bass overdrive/distortion, however I can't help but buy every new circuit they release... Otherwise, I rarely get stopped in my tracks, GAS forever haunting.
  14. Have to admit, the passive natural full scale with black hardware is a classy looking bass.
  15. The Adam, along with the Boss ES-5 and midi, is the heart of my pedalboard now. I use all 6 presets for different basses, different EQs for certain pedals, different distortion modes etc. My only issue at the moment is the noise gate. Being last in line with no key input, I’m finding it needs to be at different levels for clean and distorted to be tight, and at present it’s only a global plugin. Hopefully it will be updated to be assignable per preset on the next update, as its hard to use as it is.
  16. Tons of instruments for sale at the moment buddy, hope all is well? Lovely bass.
  17. Lovely Rockbass, they're so much better than they used to be now, fantastic value for money. GLWTS
  18. Absolutely love the Alpha Omicron, best/most complete small form Darkglass pedal.
  19. I actually really enjoyed the prototype model I played at the Guitar show, it played really nicely and finish was good. The two I subsequently tried at guitarguitar in Birmingham were not good at all, poor QC and generally didn't feel great to play.
  20. There seems to be very, very few about. Forever intrigued by the decision to hit the market at that price point. If they were £1k to £1.5k less (still not cheap given their manufacturing and apparent QC), I think it would be a very different story, and we could see premium models out etc.
  21. What an interesting bit of figuring, never seen a dirty blonde quite like that, almost flamed in the middle and burl top/bottom. Lovely. Nice bass. Had a 4 string model a while back, back pickup is brilliant. Sounds nothing like a Thumb bass, which is preferable for some!
  22. Another new Ray! So what’s sets this apart from the Stingray classic? Passive pre and ramp?
  23. Honestly, if I saw that before this thread, I'd have thought someone was taking the mick out of my band's level of support.
  24. Stunning bass and amazing price!! Good luck with the sale
