I actually really enjoyed the prototype model I played at the Guitar show, it played really nicely and finish was good. The two I subsequently tried at guitarguitar in Birmingham were not good at all, poor QC and generally didn't feel great to play.

There seems to be very, very few about. Forever intrigued by the decision to hit the market at that price point. If they were £1k to £1.5k less (still not cheap given their manufacturing and apparent QC), I think it would be a very different story, and we could see premium models out etc.

What an interesting bit of figuring, never seen a dirty blonde quite like that, almost flamed in the middle and burl top/bottom. Lovely. Nice bass. Had a 4 string model a while back, back pickup is brilliant. Sounds nothing like a Thumb bass, which is preferable for some!

Another new Ray! So what’s sets this apart from the Stingray classic? Passive pre and ramp?

Honestly, if I saw that before this thread, I'd have thought someone was taking the mick out of my band's level of support.

Temple Audio is what you’re looking for. I moved back to Velcro though. The pads are an absolute nightmare to remove from pedals once stuck. The boards aren’t very sturdy feeling either.

Oo, talk me through the Collider and Nemesis combo? Would have thought the Ventris would be a more obvious choice to pair with the Nemesis, if the Collider wasn't enough alone? Killer board though buddy!

I used a Bottle Rocket for years, loved it but far too large a footprint and didn't do enough that non-valve pedals didn't already do. Can't say I've tried one of those, looks even bigger! What valves are you running?

Pete Wentz Squier for £1800 anyone?
Kev replied to Richard Jinman's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Last year one of these was on Reverb for £350, I thought it was overpriced. What did I miss? -
Have to say, grabbing an ES-5 has been wonderful. Something quite glorious about not having to worry about where a pedal goes on your pedalboard, or playing the endless cable roundabout testing various orders.

So, Parcelforce steal parcels? Where in conditions of service do Parcelforce tell you that they will claim property when the label falls off, without making EVERY effort to identify who it may belong to, which they would have very quickly identified upon opening? Absolutely shocking stuff.

Where did the money from the auction sale go to? Charity, Peacocks back pocket, parcelforce's back pocket or somewhere else? This is bizarre.

Ah I just commented on this on YT! But yeah to repeat, wenge's depth, smoothness and richness in the low end and low mids wins out, amazing to hear the differences. Blind test, I'd have thought the Ovangkol was a bolt on! (I know you have another vid showcasing that difference too!)

Have Spector yet commented formally on the problem? Sounds like a recall job if the pickups are not fit for purpose for lower tuning, if that is what this is, especially given the marketing relating to the 37" B, although its odd its never come up for other basses using these pickups.

You may be better off just grabbing a phaser that has a volume control or doesn't have the same level of drop? I don't particularly remember the Phase 90 being too unique amongst phasers. Although I'd double check meter readings etc to measure the apparent drop, as ears can be deceiving due to their nature.

Yeah, really hope he waived any fee when he just gave the broken bass back?! Glad it's getting somewhere now, but fill in the massive blank for me; what on earth caused three preamps to break?? I have been using preamps in basses for 15 years and have never had one fail.

Another little update. Sold my Alpha Omega pedal last year when 90% of the board went in anticipation of a Quad Cortex purchase, but when life stopped that from happening, i've been able to slowly rebuild. Don't need the ultra version anymore, this does just fine!

This is a vintage original Microtubes B3K, made in Finland circa 2010. #285th ever built, and this one was actually built by Doug Castro himself, as signed on the circuit board! This is the original blackfaced B3K, back when they were built in small quantities before production moved to the US. Pedal is in great working and cosmetic condition for its age, just a little letter wear here and there as the pics show and some dual lock on the bottom, sounds fantastic, just something about these old once. Marvelous units! I'd love to hang on to this for sentimental reasons, and I bet it's value as a classic pedal will only rise, but it's not really getting used and has now been kicked off the board by a AO, which suits what I need more. Includes 48 courier. Cheers!

Good choice on the date ranges you're going for, maybe go a little further and go 2013 onwards so you get the wonderful wenge necks.
