  1. Wonder when it passed through customs? As it’s irrelevant when you order it, it would have been when it arrived in the country?
  2. I always shop local wherever possible, check back to read why I’m looking not to this time. 🙂
  3. That's what I expected, but alas I got all the way to the end, it is very much charging the inc VAT price. As I say, I';ve emailed them to ask but no response yet.
  4. Yeah I get the ones that are doing that, Musik Productiv was one of them in December, but they have now changed to say they are shipping, but slower. Their website works for other countries, ie selecting Turkey results in a ex vat price and a warning about customs... it’s very odd
  5. So what are every other shop other than Thomann that I can see playing at? They are allowing you to pay the inc vat price, and a lot of them have been updated to contain notices about 1/1 onwards, so its not a matter of it not just being updated?
  6. Well this is it, surely the store can’t include VAT in the selling price, and then be invoiced the VAT at customs?? That’s what I don’t understand, surely it should be either ex vat, or inc vat and they pay importation costs through their contract with UPS? I’ve asked them but no response yet, but right answer can’t be VAT is paid twice by the consumer. Context on this is they have stock of something I want that UK dealers aren’t expecting a shipment of until next month, hence the dilemma about to whether to order or not.
  7. Apologies if covered, but Musik Productiv still list all the prices inc VAT, and a header on their website seems to suggest that UPS handle customs clearance, implying that effectively other than paperworks and slower shipping, nothing has really changed. Is this true?
  8. Got a nice couple of shots in good light this morning, grain on this bass is unreal... 😁 https://www.instagram.com/p/CJbN_bBMB05/?igshid=1fpjx9s23j4nv
  9. Ah okay. The famous e-cheque... Apologies for stating the obvious but let it serve as reminder to all, please don’t use PayPal Gift or BACs unless you know and wholly trust the person you’re dealing with. If they insist on it, run a mile. Offer to pay the 4% PayPal fee to cover yourself, it’s worth it and the seller has no justifiable reason to say no to that, unless they don’t want you to have that protection.
  10. How does a PayPal refund even fail, out of interest? Lack of funds in the account? I always thought PayPal protected the buyer, or have these been gift payments made to him?
  11. Best: without doubt my Masterbuilt Warwick Thumb NT. Most expensive bass I’ve bought in years but it’s a masterpiece of an instrument and worth every penny. Worst? Well it was a very quiet year for new purchases really, so wouldn’t really be fair to give the worst title to anything.

    Withdrawn

Seriously wish I was the owner of this bass. It’s just wonderful.
  13. Worth bearing in mind that 500ma will be an over estimate based on the pedal being pushed to the Max (all lights on, used as an interface etc). In normal use, I doubt you’ll need that much juice.
  14. Don’t worry, provided that no one takes things too far with their comments, this thread isn’t going anywhere.
  15. I am sure no one means him any true harm, I’m sure everyone just wants to make sure that as many people as possible know what he has done, and help those who he has taken money from, which is a number sadly increasing all the time it seems. Try not to be personal, folks, the facts are damning enough 👍🏻
  16. Oh, and it’s good to see that the distortion can be turned off, as opposed to blended out, so you can in fact have IR on clean, just not on the multiband compression side. Odd that Nolly didn’t mention that in his walkthrough, but I guess he’s pushing his idea that you don’t need one.
  17. I think this unit has so much potential. The three demos so far have been sufficiently different from one another to get me really excited about what can be coaxed out of it. Nathan is probably my fave demoer on YT, he really knows how to give people a feel for what he reviews.
  18. I wouldn't worry too much about his idle legal threats. Unless you've lied to the good people of Basschat, you've been nothing but factual so not sure where he thinks he can go with it. I do recognise this daughter posting things story from another recent Facebook sale story, although I was actually on his side as I recall in an argument that broke out! I think the buyer posted about him being a conman as he hadn't received the item, but it was less than a week after buying it, which seemed in isolation a bit OTT, and the seller had provided them with a tracking number that showed he had just posted it a few days later than he said. Don't remember seeing the outcome, but I'm now wondering if it is the same guy posting stuff to himself?
  19. You can get a decent TV too. But if you don't need a new TV, probably isn't relevant? 😂
  20. It isn’t so much the block appearance that is helix-esque that’s really nice (it’s common sense really) but just how it all seems to work seemlessley with that touch screen display. All seems really intuitive. The helix isn’t really a comparison is it? I didn’t think the helix could capture amps/pedals?
  21. Coming from someone who has no experience with Helix/Fractal/Kemper, this thing is mind blowing. Just seeing that preset put together from scratch, it seems brilliant. I imagine it’s not quite as mind blowing for those who are used to these types of units, but the form factor and sleek UI of this seem to be absolute winners, before even taking into account its capture tool, which seems to be indistinguishable from the real thing in the guitar demos I’ve seen. We just need a bass demo!

    Barefaced Machinist

I'm sure he wouldn't be that tacky.
