  1. My two orders from Germany took approx two weeks so sounds about right. Although most of the hold up on mine was actually in Germany, if the tracking is to be believed. Both were delivered within 48 hours of hitting Stanford.
  2. Yup, changed to coincide with the Ex VAT prices above that price point. So, technically, Thomann is never free delivery any more, as instead of delivery you'll be paying handling charges.
  3. Magnificent. One of very few Fender models I've owned that I sorely regret selling. What's the story behind the new body?? Seems like a very good price all things considered, best of luck with the sale!
  4. Lovely!! I tried to buy the black one of this series, however it must have been within a few days of me raising the cash that some other bugger bought it!
  5. Beast of a bass. Can I ask what is custom about it? Aside from the 24th fret inlay, it looks like a stock Thumb bass of the time, albeit with modified preamp post-factory?
  6. I’m never any good at filming myself, but I’ll try to stick up videos on my IG channel at some point, if I can stand it! 😅 I prefer just to take pretty pictures 😉
  7. The Multiband compressor is actually fixed right now in the clean sidechain, but they’ve hinted at that being changed somewhere down the line. It’s the Nolly signature aspect, ie he’s designed it as he would set a bass in the studio. The pedal otherwise has a FET compressor at the start of its internal chain, which the compression amount and ratios can be controlled by the knobs/rotary footswitches. The manual is worth a read, it’s difficult to explain the signal chain without the pictures! But pretty much all aspects of it are pretty different from what Darkglass have released before. The number of presets is a limitation, as I already have ideas for way more than 3 but then again I personally don’t and won’t use a midi controller, so I’d be relying on the foot switches anyway. But right now I’m actually really interested in how flexible the firmware actually is. It’s been hinted that the launch version just skims the surface of what it can do in the future, so who knows what may be possible. 127 or whatever the number is midi presets may well be on the cards, particularly as the LEDS can be manipulated to show the number, as the tuner function shows.
  8. I have to say, I've never looked at the PSA before, but checking it out on the website, it seems to bear very little resemblance? No recording interface, no compressor or multiband compressor circuit, no IR loader? Does it even have a headphone out, or any kind of aux in, bluetooth or otherwise? It just seems to be an updated programmable drive pedal with additional midi control (a feature I forgot to mention about the ADAM, albeit by TRS)? And its only £100 or so less? Sorry if I'm missing something!! I'm really unfamiliar with the current Tech 21 range.
  9. Almost all your points are, again, applicable to all other builders like EBBM, and yet price rises haven't been seen anything like it elsewhere. They also don't address the huge rise in the UK and not so huge rise anywhere else (yet), which should have nothing to do with Brexit. You clearly fall comfortably into the "defend" category of players I mentioned earlier and that's fair enough, I have similar loyalties to a couple of brands, but the points being raised are very valid, and they are going to hurt EBBM's sales unless they provide an explanation. Standard Musicman Stingray basses are not £3k instruments, they just aren't, at the spec they are a built to. You can get a custom bass for that money.
  10. Well, mine arrived at the end of last week. Been some significant delays in the UK distributor getting stock but I think they'll come through shortly as new batches are leaving the factory. In short, its fantastic. It easily has the nicest clean section of any preamp they have made, lots of magic going on under the hood in the clean sidechain. The distortion engines start at a pretty high gain really and go up to a really fuzz/synthy distortion when mode 5 is cranked, but Darkglass are bringing in a firmware update to allow for lower gain in the very near future to improve the range and allow lower gain. There is quite an array of sounds you can get from each engine, and happy to say that there is a LOT more than Nolly tones you get in it, and a huge part of the tone you hear in the demo is indeed the Dingwall character shining blindingly through. It's very sensitive to what goes in, and my Warwick/Alpher sound nothing like the Nolly demos through it. The compressor feels very similar to the FET mode in the Hyper Luminal, which in turn feels similar to the Cali76 compressor style, works really well. It's £469, so a good £70+ more than the previous Ultra pedals, but when you consider that you get:- Compressor pedal with adjustable ratios etc Five distortion engines, which cover a lot more ground than any previous Darkglass circuit Three presets, with audition mode/stage mode Five IRs on board and switchable A tuner (which actually works really well, suprisingly) A fully functional multichannel audio interface over USB-C Bluetooth connectivity to send music in and allows control over aspects of the pedal, including IRs. Headphone Amp ...well, it covers the ground of at least three other pedals in the Darkglass range alone, and I can't name another single box solution like this that does so much. It's an outstanding unit. Huge Shock - Kev likes a Darkglass pedal. But honestly, even if you forget about the distortion side of the pedal for a second, its such a capable unit.
  11. Yeah, sorry that's what I mean by lower grade, and wood with less attractive grain is almost always cheaper to buy, and therefore use.
  12. Which is usually a sign of a lower grade of wood. To catch up, we are at heavier, lower quality woods being used than the last runs, and they're being sold for around £800 or more more?
  13. Ah, they’re sold by weight then, maybe? 🤔 🤔
  14. That’s fine, you just ran it at 9V instead and it was identical! Save yourself a few hundred quid and buy the TX! 😁
  15. Not too worried if it does to be honest, I have a more than adequate audit trail to show that Musik Productiv would need to reimburse all costs, would just be a faff!
  16. The biggest clue is that, generally speaking if not in your specific situation, the cost of most things listed on Thomann has just dropped 20%, and will be approx 20% less than the UK price. You would think that would prompt the thought process of why a little, particularly if theyre no stranger to Thomann. By the way, 5 days now since I received my Musik-Productiv order that charged a price including all VAT/Duty, and no letter requesting any money from UPS yet...
  17. Nice board, may want to get some filter sounds on it though.
  18. I don't know, to me the excluding VAT warning jumps out at me, and I'm sure it warns you in the checkout too. I don't really buy this "surprise" thing, as without putting in bold on the page UK BUYERS YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY MORE, I don't know what else shops can do.
  19. Thomann are listing Ex VAT, so that £499 and £511 will be 20% more, before considering duty/handling.
  20. Why would you say that? I haven’t seen a boss board for a longggg time.
  21. It appears that Andertons, whilst they do for some instruments, don't put up actual pictures for the Stingrays they stock, with the serial number etc. So its difficult to tell, but if its still listed on their website, I find it highly unlikely the last time they sold one it was built three years ago. How about this one https://www.andertons.co.uk/music-man-stingray-charcoal-sparkle-roasted-maple-ebony-black-pickguard Pretty special looking Stingray in my eyes, available for preorder now but does not appear to be part of the 2021 run as its available sooner, and its £1,999 (not reduced)?
  22. Walk me through these two? https://www.andertons.co.uk/music-man-stingray-dropped-copper-roasted-maple-maple-white-pickguard £1,899. https://www.andertons.co.uk/music-man-stingray-special-snowy-night-roasted-maple-maple-matching-headstock-white-pg-chrome-hardware £2,999. Bear in mind I have very little knowledge of the current Stingray range, but all I see here are two basses identified as Stingray Specials, in unique finishes, one 2020 (presumably) and the other 2021, and an £1,100 price increase (£900 if you take the price before discount, which would be fairer).
  23. On that basis, presumably we will see identical rises in Europe? Ill keep an eye out for them, but as already mentioned, other brands will suffer the exact same increases, yet these increases haven't been seen elsewhere, yet. But we shall see. I'm not sure why you keep talking about old prices, there have been comments in this thread showing live listings that are still on Andertons now, showing an £800 or so difference older stock and the upcoming stock. I don't think anything highlights the difference better than that....
  24. https://reverb.com/uk/p/origin-effects-cali76-tx-limiting-amplifier?hfid=38296310&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1726164661&utm_content=campaignid=1726164661_adgroupid=70264195649_productpartitionid=973400953367=merchantid=242570462_productid=38296310_keyword=_device=c_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=391637461803&gclid=CjwKCAiA9bmABhBbEiwASb35V8pQmhSibiZ3C2cNbloLRTCuV-hyHb5OD0xafIqrDreQgyPre4T7FBoCoRgQAvD_BwE And the £950 Bass Gallery one was a standard? 😂
  25. Insane!! The CB nails the tone of the big box non-transformer version comfortably, having owned both I can't think why someone would spend 4 times more and sacrifice all the board space for the big one. They're the same! Transformer ones are different and they do sound different for sure, but still. Silly money.
