  1. No product? All 2,000 preorders and initial dealer orders are fully built, they have dozens out for final software testing before shipping end of next month. I think it’s actually a pretty good idea to release this in advance, given how complex and new it is.
  2. Pretty well balanced! Most of the neck dive issues you hear about with Thumb basses relate to the BO models in my experience. This is my 4th NT and they’ve all balanced nicely 🙂. Definitely try before you buy though, Thumbs tend to me marmite basses to some. I love them 😍
  3. Amazing pedal, I likened the original to a boost pedal that sounds like a B3K without any actual distortion with the character cranked. The new version does this too, plus a whole lot more with the extensive mid controls and treble/bass. I used the Character set to about 11 o clock, It just makes everything sound better with it on, be it clean, distortion etc. Wonderful little unit and a perfectly capable stripped down master preamp. Features Clean Harmonic-Excitation Preamp Boost control - +/- 20 dB cut/boost 3 band Active EQ with Parametric Mid Character control - allows blending in the perfect amount of the tone-shaping circuitry Made in Finland Powered by regular 9V PSU (9V DC, centre -, 2,1 mm, ~30 mA current draw) It's only three months old and (as you can imagine!) it hasn't been gigged, or even stepped on with a shoe. Bar a bit of dual lock on the bottom, in As New condition with box etc. Price includes UK shipped. Sorry, Brexit means no EU shipping right now! More photos on request (yes, that actually is a photo of it, I spend more time editing images for instagram than I do playing it seems.....)

  4. Best to double check the bass and mids too... Lovely bass!
  5. The Darkglass Ultra pedals have incredible clean sections, and a lot of people use them as a master preamp for just that. It does entirely depend on what music you’re making really. If I used clean bass in my particular metal band, I would be completely lost in the mix behind two 7 string guitars and a heavy synth track. The drive gives the bass the oomf to cut through the mix in a way that it needs to, whilst continuing to provide the low end anchor for the tracks. The Darkglass X Ultra excels at this task, I’ve never heard a low end like it!
  6. Have to say, I don't remember seeing a neck fitting so bad that there is a gap at the bottom, as well as the side. Wow.
  7. Don't get Prize Draw confused with a Raffle; Raffles are lawful when the beneficiary of the lottery is a charity, which in this case it is 100%. I don't think you need a license either, unless it reaches a Threshold, which is definitely some way above what Chris will get here. Have full faith that Alpher will know exactly what they are doing
  8. Amazing thing for Chris and Alex to do, and the mini-Makos are lovely little basses as well!

    Hi Guys

Welcome! Looks like you have a trio of keepers there!
  10. It appears Thomann adding UK VAT to any order up to £135 in line with the new rules, after which they are selling ex-vat. Interesting contrast with Musik Productiv. I have orders in with both, so we shall see what happens!
  11. Ah man, that’s gorgeous as well, what a shame. Very unique though, so it’s going to stand out like a sore thumb, do all you can to make it too hot to move! Hopefully in terms of cost you’re okay there and the luthier sent it fully insured? Either way, if you did commission the build, you haven’t received it so ultimately it’s going to be the seller that loses out financially if it’s gone.
  12. Voodoo Lab Digital Pedal Power supply. Excellent high quality power supply, with 6 outputs across 4 isolated sections as follows:- 1 x 400ma isolated ouput 1 x 400ma isolated ouput 1 x 9v + 12v Twin outputs 400ma total 1 x 9v + 12v Twin outputs 400ma total Huge amount of juice for the money. Comes with all its cables and original box. Power Supply unit itself has dual lock attached and a bit of residue at the bottom, bit scruffy underneath but in great condition and functions as-new. Pic below for reference. These retail for £140 or so but for a quick sale I'm just after £75 for this. It's this one: https://www.gak.co.uk/en/voodoo-labs-pedal-power-digital-pedal-board-power-supply/98543?gclid=Cj0KCQiArvX_BRCyARIsAKsnTxOSmuo6yMjGwwjLH8qJRQwsM_FLR5nMabgWJ2F5vBE3UaYfQjKhVKgaAvAnEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Will ship by 48h courier.
  13. Okay, so I took the plunge and ordered with Musik-Productive, with prices listed as including Tax and Custom Fees. Confirmation email received, and itemised on it is a separate figure (within the total) for “Import Duties”. So, it looks like they’re right, and they’re using UPS as a customs broker? Proof is in the pudding (whether I get a bill from UPS or not), we’ll see!
  14. Can not, or should not? Not the same in these circumstances I shouldn’t think, if the right paperwork isn’t prepared.
  15. You misunderstood, I meant when you bought it was irrelevant to whether or not your paid VAT again or not. Could have backordered in November and it still would have cost you more if it hit the border after 1/1. It must have come up for a lot of people, unless they were just sending ones back that were marked as EU , as they wouldn’t have the right papers.
  16. their response...
  17. Wonder when it passed through customs? As it’s irrelevant when you order it, it would have been when it arrived in the country?
  18. I always shop local wherever possible, check back to read why I’m looking not to this time. 🙂
  19. That's what I expected, but alas I got all the way to the end, it is very much charging the inc VAT price. As I say, I';ve emailed them to ask but no response yet.
  20. Yeah I get the ones that are doing that, Musik Productiv was one of them in December, but they have now changed to say they are shipping, but slower. Their website works for other countries, ie selecting Turkey results in a ex vat price and a warning about customs... it’s very odd
  21. So what are every other shop other than Thomann that I can see playing at? They are allowing you to pay the inc vat price, and a lot of them have been updated to contain notices about 1/1 onwards, so its not a matter of it not just being updated?
  22. I’m sure UPS are?
  23. Well this is it, surely the store can’t include VAT in the selling price, and then be invoiced the VAT at customs?? That’s what I don’t understand, surely it should be either ex vat, or inc vat and they pay importation costs through their contract with UPS? I’ve asked them but no response yet, but right answer can’t be VAT is paid twice by the consumer. Context on this is they have stock of something I want that UK dealers aren’t expecting a shipment of until next month, hence the dilemma about to whether to order or not.
  24. Apologies if covered, but Musik Productiv still list all the prices inc VAT, and a header on their website seems to suggest that UPS handle customs clearance, implying that effectively other than paperworks and slower shipping, nothing has really changed. Is this true?
