  1. A sensible response 👍🏻 The implication always seems to be that Darkglass and the like are more expensive than they should be, which in reality their growth in the market suggests that is entirely not the case. In this specific case, the Neural seems to be priced very competitively in comparison to its main rivals, so again is not expensive for what it is. Of course, it’s expensive in general, but that’s just the level we are now at for the kind of gear you can get now. If it’s not affordable , look at Helix. I am sure there are Zoom users that find the Helix expensive too, and that’s fine. Different markets. Rickenbacker is an example of an eye wateringly expensive product 😉
  2. Is it though? Always the default response to anything Doug is involved with, but this is in direct competition with Fractal and Kemper and it’s cheaper than both?
  3. I am confident he will, Darkglass usually ship out a fortnight or less after an announcement, so I am sure he has got the timing right on this if he's giving it nine months. Also, 1000 people have just paid a £170 refundable deposit on £1370 of gear, there will sadly almost certainly be dropouts. Saying that, Tier 2 (November shipment) is filling up from what I hear as well...
  4. It's crazy, really. Technically, first bit of hardware this company has made, no demos, no real sound samples and they have made 200K in deposits in a weekend. Seems Doug wasn't content with dominating the bass effects world! Long nine months await...
  5. It’s a screenshot of a video, it’s not BS 😂 oh, and pre-ordered. Gulp.
  6. I've been itching to tell people about this for so long! Doug has dedicated his life to this for two years, it looks incredible. The idea of going full digital is scary, but this just looks fantastic and the price is fantastic. Who knew i'd be a fan, eh? It's only usually Darkglass stuff I like..... 😉
  7. Potentially interested in the WH-1, pictures??
  8. What a pair... Still can’t get over the finish on the new one, it’s just perfect!
  9. Have another. Not sorry.
  10. That packaging is unbelievable! But wow, what a bass for the money it seems, where did you get it?
  11. £2349. That’s the very base level cost of a new Alpher, before any of the extras associated with topwoods/electronics etc. Mine is insured for around £4.5k to replace new. £1k for this instrument is CRAZY. Buy it before he comes to his senses! Edit To add a bit of meat to the bone, I used their online tool to spec up this bass to order now, it would be £3,899.
  12. They attach by quick release plates sold by temple audio. Or, you can just use Velcro like any other board I guess! This is listed on eBay and already has bids over the selling price here, so this is effectively sold pending.
  13. Ohhhh I saw that today and had palpitations, it looks STUNNING
  14. Gulp. And I moaned about paying £3.50 each for the quick release plates for Temple Audio boards...
  15. Wow, I shudder to think how much they may cost!
  16. Why indeed! The tuner was on the board before the Shure, and I am using the second output of the tuner to feed a clean signal to the key input of the noise gate. If I sold the tuner, I’d need to pick up a splitter box and it would cost me as much for a decent one. So the tuner stays for now. Also, if my wireless was to fail mid gig, the Shure unit is rendered useless as it has no cable input, so having the boss means I still have a tuner and a way of muting my signal, should I need it.
  17. Amazing value at £800, congrats!!
  18. Responding to an enquiry that has since gone quiet, we're looking at about £20 more if anyone wants these shipped to Europe.
  19. Here’s my sound board 🙂 Final for the time being, too neat to mess it up 😂
  20. Mesa Boogie D800 Excellent condition, light use, still have the original box and gig bag. Excellent Class D head, weighs nothing, takes up hardly any space and has a ton of heft. This was the end result for me after trying most Class D heads out there (Darkglass/Aguilar/Markbass/GK and others). No longer using a backline so surplus to requirements, along with the Barefaced cabs (combo deals possible!) Better pics up at the weekend but its as you'd expect. Cheapest in the UK seem to be around the £999 mark now, but Ill do this for £650 shipped in the UK.
  21. Power supply gone, just the temple audio board left 🙂
  22. Since we’re posting Alpher pics, any excuse...
