Missed this, lovely! That Buckeye is one of my favourite basses from the Alpher boys, I love the figuring 🥰 (blue is great too!)

Mesa D800. Ignore the power ratings of the One10’s, they are more than capable of handling a 800w Class D without any problems at all.
-
Depends really. The Shure transmitter has a replaceable lithium battery, and id always look for that rather than have a finite system.
-
Can testify that two One10’s are a great thing indeed. More than enough low end and volume for most small/medium gigs. I use them without PA support in a function band and have to turn down during soundcheck! I wouldn’t try a rock/metal gig without a PA but then again I would try a 2x12 setup in the same circumstances either. My recommendation is nothing to do with the fact I am selling a pair...😉

That’s crazy if that’s true, it’s certainly a reason In principle why I wouldn’t consider that system. Only one reason Boss made that decision... I ended up investing more and grabbed the Shure pedal unit, which has performed admirably so far. Still, it’s expensive and it does have a belt pack, albeit a solid metal type with a good clip. The Boss looked to be a great option, does the Line 6 equivalent have the same restriction?

I have two of the limited edition run of the Barefaced Tweedy One 10 cabs I am considering selling. These are the ones with the tweed tolex, grill cloth and the "genuine faux" leather handles. Very nice cabs, classy upgrades and sound huge. No joke, I hear more lows from these two than the Ampeg fridge in our rehearsal room. Seriously. Ill get better pics later but looks like below, in great condition with no dings/dents to note. It is suffering from the sadly common tolex peeling/shrinkage at the back, only minor peeling/shrinkage and Alex has assured me he will retolex the cabs when he finds a glue for the tweed covering that he is confident won't fail. It probably isn't worth the effort of sending back to them anyway! £469 new but due to the cosmetics ill let them go for £700 £650 the pair, would rather sell as a pair but can split to £350. No covers on these.

First up, Temple Audio Duo 24. The paint has flaked off in a number of places and been touched up to “improve” the appearance, bubbling a bit in other places, sticker at the front covering the worst patch. It’s been gigged 🙂 I’ve taken a few pics to give you an idea of its condition but it’s definitely a bit beat up. However, other than aesthetics it’s in perfect working order, just look a little rough up close. Cover it with pedals though and it looks fine... In box but no bag (they don’t come with any new). £38 £30 shipped. Next up, a Caline effects power supply. This unit is a budget power brick that is branded with various different manufactures. It’s actually brilliant for its price; it has 7 100ma 9V power outlets, an additional high current 500ma outlet, a 12v and an 18v outlet. Really bright blue leds too that look great under a pedalboard, but can turn off if you don’t like them! It’s marketed as fully isolated; I don’t believe it can be for the price, but I’ve never had any noise and each outlet does have its own circuit breaker at least so if one goes you don’t lose the board. I powered a full board (above) with it with no issues. Great if you’re on a budget! No box, but comes with 7 centre negative (standard) leads, one of those 1/8th inch adaptors and it’s 18v wall wart. £SOLD if you wanted both I’ll save postage so I’ll do it a bit cheaper. cheers!

Interesting, I was about to buy a line 6 and then saw this Boss unit. How do they compare, compactness aside??
-
Love my Nemesis, this seems to take a away a few of the really cool noise making delay models, but seems like a great compromise for the price.

Aye, she’s in Drop B and it’s 34”, sounds huge 😉 Worth considering if you don’t use the G much, depends on what you play really. My Ibby is in B standard so I use that with one of my originals and the function band, whereas the Alpher is being used in my other originals Remember though, it isn’t just the strings that need changing, your nut may need altering too, and the drop in tension you’ll get (B much lower tension than G) will mean your truss will need a little adjustment.
-
Fine praise indeed and I can echo all of the above regarding their customer service! Best in the biz, a cut above! Have some more eye candy...

😂 Ah well, fortunately it’s an amazing bass that looks crazy cool and sounds like the lovechild of a Thumb NT5 and a Dingwall NG2 - it’s worth it. I’ll check back in here if the bass “changes colour” over the next few months! 😉
-
Yes! Chris’s idea, really suits the low tuning I have on this bass (Drop B). The original refinish? Yeah, I don’t know exactly why it ended up being stained the darker blue but it was Chris that did it, it was just a messy situation. I’ve bought a load of drama with this bass too 😂
-
There is a very long story attached but basically the (honestly a bit rubbish) darker blue was a refinish. Chris at Alpher took the instrument back from the second owner of the bass and completely renovated it back to its original state and its now good as new in its original crazyburl (buckeye burl impregnated with coloured resins) finish! I'm now the third owner and hope to finally give it the home it deserves! Its completely stunning in the flesh, pictures will never do it justice...
