  1. If you're going to be a member of this forum, do so in a nature that wastes as little of our time as possible. We're volunteers, and we do the best we can. Try doing the best you can, please?
  2. I can 🙂 if you want to message me your details I'll get a quote for you, I assume it will be in the region of £50-£75 fully insured.
  3. Having a bass you dearly want but a bass you need to sell first is an agonising first world problem.

As is impatiently buying a bass when funds are available, only to see a nicer one come up for sale a couple of weeks later...

  4. They're such gorgeous instruments, the neck is a work of art!
  5. Surely the best bet is to return it mate? Lovely bass, but seems a shame to throw that money away, their returns policy is pretty good from memory!
  6. Just as a heads-up to any who may have missed it, I am looking to move this magnificent beast on: Gutted, to be honest, but sometimes you have to look at them as tools and right now this isn't the right tool for the job
  7. These are also Chinese built, just a limited run in this spec to launch the series. Absolute hard luck on the Duran tribute splitting after waiting so long for this! Which one were you with out of interest? Shared the stage with a cracking one last year, bassist was playing a regular combustion I think?
  8. Certainly seems a great shout against the insanely overpriced real thing! GLWTS 🤘🏻
  9. How much?! When i've seen influencers with these, I assumed they were super cheap. Did they used to be, or have they always had that kind of price??
  10. My favourite colour of these basses 😍
  11. Don't need to go big, this fella will do the job https://www.darkglass.com/creation/microtubes-x/ Definitely worth trying to pick one up 2nd hand maybe and see how it compares, or I think Bax Music do a 30 day trial, so you could grab one to compare and return if it doesn't help?
  12. Move this convo away from politics please, folks, otherwise we'll just get rid.
  13. I play progressive metal stuff in drop B, BF#BE, so similar but not the same. A lot of it is down to personal preference. I use a .125 on the B as if I go any heavier, I find it comes too dubby and loses high end harmonic content. I doubt id change it for A#, as the tension is very similar. Couple of bass set up tips; Get the neck as straight as it can be, even a tiny bit less relief will really help. When stringing up a new A#, when you know where the string will break over the bridge saddle, take the string off and bend it slightly at that point. The thicker the string, the more this helps get a clearer low string. I personally wouldn't go to 105 for a F, I use a .95 for an F# and would think .100 would be fine. As long as you're using some compression, which I'd definitely recommend, you don't need to worry too much about balancing things out. I do keep lows clean, I think my crossover is somewhere around 120hz off memory, but again this is to taste. Difficult to do with the gear you use, and can't really be duplicated with EQ'ing. Considered swapping that B3K out for a Darkglass X? It'll be a big upgrade and will allow that crossover. Forget about FoH, the sound engineer would rather just use his tricks than undo yours first.
  14. Up for sale I have my absolutely stunning Leduc Modern 4 bass guitar, built in 1994 by French master luthier Christophe Leduc. Picked this up from Will at Bassbros last year, previously belonged to our own @Gardenerben. Gorgeous design, the ash body under the red finish is really smart and the Padouk neck is one of the thinnest and fastest I’ve used. Bass arrived to me in standard tuning but also plays in B Standard wonderfully. Preamp is a clever little design; 2 band EQ, with the toggle switch on, the treble control also controls the mids. Boosting treble cuts mids and rolling back treble boost them. Dummy pickup coil hidden behind the control panel keeping things quiet. Specs e.t.c. Leduc M4 Model Name: MODERN (1994 to 97) Scale : 34" (24 Frets) Neck: Padouk Fingerboard: Padouk Body: French Ash Pickups: 2 x Leduc - Benedetti Single Coils with Dummy Coil Electronics: Leduc - EBS EL-5, 2 Band EQ with Treble Control Mid Switch Bridge: Leduc type "H" String Locks: Schaller Neck Depth 1st fret: 21 mm, 12th fret: 22.5 mm Nut Width: 38mm Spacing at nut: 9mm Spacing at bridge: 19mm Dimensions: 1060 x 320 x 60 mm Weight: 3.8kg List Price: €4,400 Playing Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cprRkNuqOw0 Originally built for French musician Sylvin Marc. The bass was the successor to the MNV and precursor to the Maurad. EL-5 Preamp The bass is in really good condition for its age, hard to believe it’s 30 years old! There are surface marks and swirls here and there as you'd expect, usual wear to hardware, couple of pots are a little scratchy but nothing to worry about.
  15. Well, its a la bella flatwound packet, guess I can't confirm what strings are in it?! 😅
  16. Which will sound amazing but objectively useless as it'll be 90% him showing off, rather than showing the pedal off...

Yeah that's the one, I believe I have mine set up to the equivalent of a Cali76 set to the slowest attack time and fastest release, doesn't sound far away from the Cali 76's i've had from memory, but then again from memory I don't remember a huge amount of colour either! (I've had a big box tx, regular big box and a compact).

I guess I mean the compressor model that's based on a Cali will already have the cali colour, if there is any, so I don't know what a capture would be adding really. Do you have a Cali, did I see? Would be interested in how you find they compare! Yeah the Boss OC-2 capture works well enough to improve the octaver on the QC. It's a great pitch shifter but not great at getting that synthy octave tone, but the capture at least makes it quite dubby. I have an OC-2 on the board though, and it doesn't really compare 🙂

A capture? The Cali 76 is quite transparent, so I don't think a capture of it would really work well at all. I was referring to the full compressor model based on the Cali76, can't remember what it's called.

There is a Cali76 based model that seems to work pretty well to me?

It's a quite odd bug that Neural have sort of acknowledged and implied it'll be "fixed" but this goes back many, many updates, but yes, the send gain for the loops needs to be reduced by about 4.5db for unity, and I think technically the return also needs to come down 0.1db I think someone detected 😅
