That Standard is a good looking bass for sure, very keen to know the price on these to say whether its a no go or not.

For me that's a starting point, how do you find the 210 + 110 combo compared to just the 210?
-
Sorry to bring this back up, but I too am considering adding a One10 to my setup. @largo May I ask how you get/got on with your 3 One10 setup?
-
Again on cost, preamp aside, the standard uses roasted birdseye maple as a fretboard, which must cost more than standard ebony. Other than the brown stain, those represent the extent of the differences, so the prices should be very close if not the same?

Weight puts me off, I’ve never owned a super lightweight bass that can hold a candle to a heavier counterpart for depth of tone, but I guess tone wood is controversial 😂. And this does have a reason to be lighter, with the end chopped off and all. Darkglass preamp was around £50 odd less last time I looked, course Strandberg will have more buying power from Nordstrand with the pickups etc so they’ll get a better deal I suspect.

Tone wise it’s nothing special or unique, prog model should be cheaper as it has a lower priced pre in it, but I bet it won’t be! It’s all going to be on playability for me. And yeah, the price will have to come in favourable to Dingwall to challenge that market. I’m more interested in why it has taken so long to come out and spent so long in the prototype stage.

Thanks for stepping in, my efforts to get back on topic have been ignored somewhat and I keep getting baited back in by those naughty Spector folk! ;)

We're having a party on Saturday night to celebrate 10 years of Dakesis, with Fury and my band Cenfora. Proggy, melodicy, power metally goodness in the centre of Birmingham for a fiver! Be awesome to see some of you guys down, we're first up and will be playing our album "The Progening" in full! The Progening on Spotify

Can you link me to the source which documents when Spector requested royalties and Framus/Warwick refused?
-
That bezel though... No respect for Mr Doren anymore and don't really wish to fund his business ventures, but interested in what he has come up with here. New logo is hideous, another price rise, something special or is this just a rebadged Wonderlove?

Oh noo! 😴 Everyone's worst nightmare when it comes to truss rod adjustment. All is not lost, necks can be repaired and be stronger than ever, but yeah its the money thing that's the issue.

Not had that much time to play with the X, but initial tests were very good. Hoping to get a tone dialed in for at least one track at the weekend gig, see how it compares to the AOU/B3K combo. I think it’s a stand-alone pedal thought, haven’t achieved great results stacking yet, which is odd for Darkglass but I guess given how it work it does make sense.

Nope 🙂 only one Thumb I have owned has notably neck dived, a Bolt On 2000 model with a big chunky neck. The multiple NT models I have had have balanced wonderfully at a variety of strap lengths. Like I said previously, if anything the older ones are body heavy due to the dense bubinga and thin necks. ANYWAY WHY are we having to talk about Spector in a Warwick thread again? 🙂 Funny how there is relatively little Warwick talk in a Spector thread...lets forget all that and just concentrate on not being Fender players together 😁
-
Yup, that clears it up nicely. No ripping off, loyalties paid when asked, now developed and improved beyond the previous design, all good 🙂 Re upper fret access, my thumb is cut away to the 24th fret, some basses don't even have that many to begin with! 😂
-
Probably belongs to the bassist of Little Mix...
-
Fanned fretless Dingwalls i have seen are unlined too....😂
-
Yawn. Spector players forever upset that Warwick made a better bass with their design. Ripped off? History (or perhaps english) lessons needed 😂. Nice read, Joe. Great to see you on here. I'd recommend you play some vintage Warwick instruments, they all tended to balance much better in the eighties with less material in the neck. My Thumb has zero balance issues, at a push its body heavy

Not knowing anything about the SC really, is it a digital comp with one knob, with all the parameters being set by software?
-
The audience can hear the difference, they just don't know they do
-
i have never felt a need for multi band, certainly couldn't agree that it makes no sense otherwise. Out of interest, how do you use this aspect? The HPF is enough for me on the CB and HL.
-
As far as I know, they had a power supply issue for a small number of supplies on the initial run that, darkglass being darkglass, they instantly offered to repair for free, covering shipping. Not ideal but dealt with well. The FET mode does everything the Cali76 / CB did for me, just with more control in the Suite and the bonkers all buttons on mode of the 1176. The BUS is super transparent and the SYM is the SS. Metering is excellent. Its cheaper that the Cali and offers much more, smaller footprint and better metering. Easy decision for me, but I don't pretend that my ear is as sensitive as some.
-
Buy one, anyone who is in the market for a high end pedal comp. This replaced a Cali76 CB on my board, which replaced a Cali76 TX and DG SS. It's a very good and flexible comp.
