1. It is 100% fine to swap the one way truss rod around, I have done the same with one of my Warwick basses Wonders of a removable Truss rod!
2. To be fair, the only thing they have in common is the Jazz shape. Quite different models.
3. Impressed with the skills of a few people in this thread, I must confess to having no ability in determining the design, build quality and sound of a speaker cabinet from a jpeg and a price. Personally, I am going to go a test one (at BD in the company of the great cabs available, mostly at a higher price) and see how it compares. My Berg NV cab is wonderful (and ceramic too) so it will be hard to beat!
4. Do you have a value for each bass mate?
5.
Definitely not impossible. I have what I think is an early 90s Streamer with no serial whatsoever. Even after removing the polyurethane finish we still couldn't find anything.
It's very uncommon with natural oil finishes, very common on the vintage poly finished basses 🙂
6. Yeah plenty of pics will help, as will a photo of the top of the headstock as its odd (but not impossible) that there is no serial (even the very first Streamers had one).
7.
Paper thin from memory. Usa one is actually quite deep. Rather like a Ric neck.
Must say I disagree with that, for me it feels very different from a Ric neck.
8.
What's the nut width on this particular one? 38.5mm?
It will be bud yeah
9. Hmm, sounds like an expensive accidental knock of a switch waiting to happen...hopefully that has been thought through!
10. Oof. Good job you kept this hidden on Sunday, else I may have relieved you of both!
11. For me, a bass needs some weight. I am still yet to find a lightweight bass that has the depth and richness of a heavier bass. Heaviest I had was a Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5, 13lb, too heavy to gig with (rather active on stage) but oh my the sound.
12.
Just picked up my dream bass from Pete earlier today, 1990 Thumb NT 4, couldn't be happier!
I did it again, only this time it was a 1989 model, I'm equally ecstatic! Cheers mate.
13. Just traded basses and cash with this chap, drove a long way to make the deal happen, great stuff all round!
14. Judging by the reaction by some in this thread, you would think Darkglass was a subsidiary of Barefaced... In current market, I don't believe any Darkglass product is 'overpriced' and comments about how much it cost to develop are just daft, simple truth we have NO idea. The head is a brilliant price for what it is and has remained remarkably stable considering Brexit and the GBP situation, something had to give eventually and their way of dealing with it is to release a cheaper version, which is fair enough. Again, cab prices are in line with other 'boutique' builders and until stats are released and they are heard, how can anyone judge whether they are worth Berg prices or not? We do love to hate on success, don't we?
15. I must be missing something here, are these cabs not basically the same price if not a little cheaper than the berg/ vanderkley equivalent?? Edit: so Bass Direct have the equivalent Berg listed as £1499 so DG have come in cheaper, which is cool ☺
16.
Does anyone actually use their footswitch much? Like the switchable drive in the Ultra series, I don't find it terribly useful unless you have the blend set really low due to the drastic EQ changes when switching the Microtubes on or off, or going between B3K and VMT (which you can do with the new super duper footswitch).
I have no issues with volume or EQ levels switching between dirt and clean, like I never have with the pedals I would have no use for the big switch though, like others have said my B3K and VMT settings are entirely different.
17. Surprised at the 500w release. Price difference will be so minimal I don't know why you wouldn't get a 900 for just a slightly bigger footprint. I would have expected a 200w release, which at the right price point would have took the market by storm. 500w seems a little unnecessary unless they surprise with the price, but judging by the above it doesn't look like it. Would love to hear the cabs, 10's aren't my thing but I'm still curious!
18. To answer a couple of queries I have had:-

The bass comes with a new Gator moulded hardcase
Neck Profile is a Medium-Slim C, 45mm Nut with 21mm depth at 1st fret and 23mm at 12th
Weight is a touch over 9lb on my scales
I am very much interested in trades
19.
hi you have some sound samples?
Afraid not, to be honest I tend to avoid sound samples when selling a bass as so much is dependant on technique, setup, preamp e.t.c. Thanks again for comments
20. The Cali76 TX knocked the Darkglass comp off my board, its a wonderful compressor and I prefer it muchly to the standard 76 I had, just make sure you run it at 18v otherwise the transformer is not in the circuit. I have my ratio all the way counter clockwise, Attack fully clockwise, Release fully anticlockwise, Output to taste and Input so the signal is attenuating approx 10db.
21. It will be either 18 or 19mm I believe, can't quite recall, ill check ☺
