1. OT really, but new CS order?! Look forward to seeing that! This is a stunner
  2. Slightly bizarre thread, this. Understand the point about not being told about a charge prior to agreeing to list (although clearly there is also some onus on the seller to establish what happens if they withdraw from sale; surely a safe assumption that there would be a charge for such a service without any reward otherwise?), but people complaining about a £30 charge if the bass does not sell or sells elsewhere? Why would Bass Direct or any other shop or business clean and photograph a bass, create a web page for it, share on social media and print in stock lists free of charge?? Why would anyone expect to list and withdraw without paying something, or even feeling obliged to pay something? If I were Bass Direct/Bass Gallery etc I would probably make it a condition that the bass cannot be advertised elsewhere once listed as eBay do. Its far too easy to abuse as people have said. Same people who abuse would probably moan about the £30 too!!
  3. The pickups will just be the blade versions of the Bigman pickups I would think, not multi coil Wal esque I wouldn't think, but killer pickups all the same. Craftmanship on new Warwicks is stunning, look at that neck...
  4. Fantastic looking instrument, can't wait to hear it, if we ever do!
  5. You would get little change from £1k new to have this bass with this setup. £300 is a steal it really is, so surprised it hasn't gone!!
  6. Need this gone asap, reduced from £450 to £300. Trade value still £450!

Crazy this is still here. Mine is the best Fender Jazz iv played in terms of resonance, feel and tone. Yes, QC on some are rubbish, but that's why buying second hand is king!! This will be an outstanding instrument.
  8. Recent addition of Cali76-TX (replacing Super Symmetry) forced a Power Supply rethink, as I refused to pay £59 to make the Gigrig Generator output 18v(!!) So, grabbed one of the Memteq units off Amazon for £25 odd and I'm impressed. Noise free, no obvious disadvantage over the Gigrig on a little board like this, and it gives the transformer in the Cali the juice it needs. Satisfied
  9. 40mm is definitely the tiniest nut I have ever heard of on a 5 string! Spacing must be soooo tight! Killer looking bass, for sure.
  10. Up for sale I have this wonderful instrument I took in a trade earlier this year. ESP LTD B-5E Neck Through bass guitar. Stunning instrument, and this one has been upgraded with EMG soapbar pickups and an EMG BQS Preamp [top range preamp, 3 band with mid freq control) at a cost of over £300 if I recall from the previous owner. Huge upgrade on stock electronics, its a very cool bass. Specs:

Neck-thru-body
34" Scale
Mahogany body
Ebony top
5-Piece maple/mahogany neck w/ebony fingerboard
47mm standard nut
Extra thin U neck contour
24 XJ frets
Black nickel hardware
ESP tuners
ESP BB-605 bridge w/string-thru-body
Upgrade EMG Pickups and EMG BQS Preamp
It appears the gloss version has now been discontinued, but here is the natural satin version at GAK https://www.gak.co.uk/en/esp-ltd-b-5-e-ns-natural-satin-5-strings/58923 Cost new approx £700 and EMG upgrades make this difficult to price, so i'v set £450 as a guide price. Incredible build for the money. NOW REDUCED TO £300 FOR QUICK SALE, postage/petrol extra. Selling as I no longer play 5 strings so it surplus to current requirements. Please note the battery is wired into the main control cavity rather than the battery holder, looks like battery snap supplied with preamp was not long enough to reach battery compartment. Would prefer collection/meetup as only have a gig bag for this and little in the way of packaging at the moment. Trades considered for 4 string instruments only please. Would consider adding cash. Pics show gorgeous woods and the very few marks in the finish it has around the control area.
  11. I have a Gigrig Generator Power Supply and a 5 Output Distributor up for sale as I no longer require it. Has served me well for a number of years, very high quality power supply and will handle anything. Comes with 5 power leads cut to various (generous) lengths. In good condition, just a bit of Velcro where it has been attached to my board. Fantastic modular system. Not much else to say really! No box/manual but it's straightforward enough 🙂 £130 odd new, need a quick sale so £65 shipped takes them both 🙂

    Bargain Darkglass pedal!!!!
  13. I just sold Denis a fantastic Dingwall bass. Perfect transaction, chap even arranged the shipping for me and paid extra costs with no complaints! Enjoy it mate, it made me happy on many gigs and I'm sure it will perform well for you! Deal with confidence
  14. Really interested in seeing more HQ pics of this, do you have any??
  15. Another vote for the Flea Jazz. Very, very nice instrument with a huge sound. Awful QC though as per usual Fender, try before you buy to make sure its a goodun!
  16. Rocking the 5th Anniversary Streamer last weekend...
  17.
WAL are definitely more stylish than Warwick. Though both look like funiture (must be a European thing).
Odd choice of comparison, and there are far more furniturey basses than Wals and Warwicks. MKII by far the best shape for me, shame about the 4 string neck shape on them all.
  18. I don't know, would a young guy looking for his first band not be a little intimidated by writing and having equal voice, rather than just go with the flow a bit at first and find his feet?
