1. Judging by the reaction by some in this thread, you would think Darkglass was a subsidiary of Barefaced... In current market, I don't believe any Darkglass product is 'overpriced' and comments about how much it cost to develop are just daft, simple truth we have NO idea. The head is a brilliant price for what it is and has remained remarkably stable considering Brexit and the GBP situation, something had to give eventually and their way of dealing with it is to release a cheaper version, which is fair enough. Again, cab prices are in line with other 'boutique' builders and until stats are released and they are heard, how can anyone judge whether they are worth Berg prices or not? We do love to hate on success, don't we?
2. I must be missing something here, are these cabs not basically the same price if not a little cheaper than the berg/ vanderkley equivalent?? Edit: so Bass Direct have the equivalent Berg listed as £1499 so DG have come in cheaper, which is cool ☺
3.
Does anyone actually use their footswitch much? Like the switchable drive in the Ultra series, I don't find it terribly useful unless you have the blend set really low due to the drastic EQ changes when switching the Microtubes on or off, or going between B3K and VMT (which you can do with the new super duper footswitch).
I have no issues with volume or EQ levels switching between dirt and clean, like I never have with the pedals I would have no use for the big switch though, like others have said my B3K and VMT settings are entirely different.
4. Surprised at the 500w release. Price difference will be so minimal I don't know why you wouldn't get a 900 for just a slightly bigger footprint. I would have expected a 200w release, which at the right price point would have took the market by storm. 500w seems a little unnecessary unless they surprise with the price, but judging by the above it doesn't look like it. Would love to hear the cabs, 10's aren't my thing but I'm still curious!
5. To answer a couple of queries I have had:-

The bass comes with a new Gator moulded hardcase
Neck Profile is a Medium-Slim C, 45mm Nut with 21mm depth at 1st fret and 23mm at 12th
Weight is a touch over 9lb on my scales
I am very much interested in trades
6. Gorgeous...
7.
hi you have some sound samples?
Afraid not, to be honest I tend to avoid sound samples when selling a bass as so much is dependant on technique, setup, preamp e.t.c. Thanks again for comments
8. The Cali76 TX knocked the Darkglass comp off my board, its a wonderful compressor and I prefer it muchly to the standard 76 I had, just make sure you run it at 18v otherwise the transformer is not in the circuit. I have my ratio all the way counter clockwise, Attack fully clockwise, Release fully anticlockwise, Output to taste and Input so the signal is attenuating approx 10db.
9. It will be either 18 or 19mm I believe, can't quite recall, ill check ☺
10.
Trust me sir I’m still rather tempted. Sorta scared that If I tried the 5 my beloved Blackburl would be walking out the door with you! Why are all Alpher basses just so gorgeous!!!?
No-one quite to match them for their woodwork anywhere in my opinion, stunning woods flawlessly crafted. You know where I am anyway ☺
11. Say the word bud and its yours.....
12. Greg purchased my Fender Flea, hated to see it go but needs must! Pleasure to deal with again, cheers bud.
13.
Pretty sure I played this bass at the North West Guitar Show earlier this year. Either that or it was one remarkably similar. If it is the one I played I can personally vouch that this is one of the finest basses I have ever played in the 20 years I've been playing. Absolute bargain at that price, this will make someone very very happy. Good luck with the sale!
The very same bass mate, thank you for the kind words, it's a special bass.
14.
Evening, Just wondering if anyone on the forum has had this problem arise with Parcelforce? "There is a problem with the delivery of your parcel. Please check the tracking details below and our enhanced help for additional information on the status of your parcel and what to do next. Tracking event Address problem (address insufficient)" I've got a rare vintage guitar in the post and the only conclusion I can come to is the label got damaged or fell off. I hope this doesn't mean it's going to get "lost" aka stolen Absolutely bricking it right now, I've been hunting down this dream guitar for about 15 years
Where was its last location? If the depot isn't far away, Id just go down and get it.
15. Cheers, guys. Pics now added to original post.
16. Up for sale I have my custom built Alpher. Difficult sale, partially due to financial difficulty and partially due to playing 4 strings almost exclusively now. It is a truly exceptional instrument. Specs Used* Alpher Mako Elite Active 5 String 34 inch scale 24 fret One piece highly figured walnut body One piece buckeye burl top Ribbon figured Rosewood neck Ziricote fingerboard Nordstrand Bigman pickups 2 x 4 way rotary coil selectors 3 band Nordstrand preamp Ziricote Control knobs Hipshot A style bridge and Ultralite tuners The Dingwall/Nordstrand hybrid electronics allow 24 different coil combinations, it can make almost any sound you could ever want. The woods are out of this world, the neck is the nicest piece of wood I've ever held and the figuring on the walnut body is incredible. Very rare one piece buckeye top is a bit love or hate, I love it. It looks like marble and it's depth and figuring, like all the woods on this bass, is impossible to do justice in a photo. The bass has recently been set up at Alpher HQ and has had the new Alpher body contour carved in, so it matches current spec and made the instrument much more comfortable. Pro shots are therefore out of date. Album link is here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsm4iTMua I'll add that Chris and Alex are amazing blokes and I am sure they will love to build a relationship with you as the new owner, as they do with all customers. It's quite unique and a great thing to be involved with, being part of the Alpher family! Cheers.
17. When my Alpher sells I may be interested....
18. £1250 for an Alpher? Bargain of the year?!!
19. Pm'd!
20.
If that's a new neck, this is a bargain. The neck on my 2016 corvette masterbuilt is bloody lovely, with a slim C profile. Nicer than my '06 thumb.
I know, I'd just go and see it if it were local but its not! So just want to know the back story behind it all. Is it the camera angle, or is the nut narrower than the neck as well?
21. The neck on that bass is not original, sadly Warwick are useless at identifying their own instruments...
22. This bass is now Sold.
23. The plate is the only flea branding, the main flea part of this bass is the fact it is a copy of his. TONS of interest in this, working my way through responses so sorry to those waiting, highly likely this will be gone today.
24.
I have the three band active version, yours looks like a slightly different version. is it active or passive?? GLWTS
This is a first gen Combustion I believe.
25. Coulda sold this months ago when I made that offer cash on collection 😂 ah Well, glad you have a sale sorted at last
