If you're not tied to Barefaced look at other options by Bergantino/Vanderkley. As a one cab solution I am loving the Bergantino NV115. Having the mid range driver instead of a tweeter makes a huge difference in usability when driven hard for me. For reference, I have had Barefaced SC/Midget, Vanderkley and Berg 112s and a Bergantino CN212. The CN212 was great too, but overkill for what I needed. The Nv115, bizzarely for a sealed cab, seems to have more lows too. BTW this is with the M900 too, 4/5 string tuned down half a step.

Shan't be using Andertons again! Pre-ordered weeks ago and they still don't have initial stock.
A tuner is a worm drive, nothing like using a single nut. Why do cars have left hand threaded hub nuts do you think?
I can't tell if you are intentionally missing the point or not

Swapped straps with Nik, nice random little Basschat deal and we both now have more suitable straps! Great stuff, cheers dude.

Only locks I have had fail are the Dunlop type, fortunately I have always caught the bass. Hardly surprising, giving the design! The idea of everything resting on that one pin freaks me out completely. Schaller design certainly makes the most sense, with the lock fitting over the button, as opposed to on top. Keeps the bass closer to the strap as well and comfier as a result. Tighten the nut on the strap properly (ask someone strong if you need to...) and it won't come loose, just as many things tightened with nuts don't come loose! Rotation arguement is bizzare as the lock fitting should not rotate at all, if it is then you are doing it wrong and it's no surprise it loosens! Using the same logic, why aren't our tuners falling off our headstock all the time But, I don't use either. I use grolsch washers. Why? Never failed and for all my pulling and swinging around I can't see how they would in normal use.
The green one looks cool IMO. Room for improvement in the knob department though. Those cheap knobs are só ugly on any instrument. They look utilitarian, fine on a piece of rack gear but not on a fine instrument.
Its all about taste really. Dingwall Canadian basses use plastic knobs on anything but their £5000+ Prima instruments, but I can't imagine them with anything else as they just fit the look perfectly. Sometimes metal knobs look really naff, as can wooden knobs. Its all about the overall look. For example, I think they look really good on the white one

Nope, I love the look of those

B3K's and B7K's do sound different, not sure why as like you say flat they should sound the same. Same with the Vintage actually, I found that pedal almost unusable for my tastes on its own, just too woolly.
-
Any difference is due to natural differences in components used. Two none-R versions will sound as different as an R and none-R. They are the same.
Hmmm...so I think the Ultra is an extra £60 over the Deluxe, what extra are they offering for this? It is a lovely looking piece of kit, but almost the price of a half decent amp!
Switchable mid frequencies and separate foot switch for dirt. You lose the Parallel Out of the Deluxe, but for me the extra mid controls are worth the extra money. But, you have to draw a line with cost somewhere! They are pretty expensive units for sure.

Yeah sounds like you do enjoy the Era knob, however correct settings on the mid controls of the newer Vintage Deluxe can exactly replicate what the Era knob did. Trickier to dial in but all but identical at the right points. Circuits are otherwise the same, apart from general part upgrades and better build quality on the Finnish versions. Tonally there should be no differences.

The Vintage with the toggle switches is certainly the more versatile of the two, the Ultra edition even more so
Very entertaining singer you have. Power metal meets NWOBHM to my ears. Reminds me of being 14 all over again. I work in Coventry, but domestic complications prevent random night out unfortunately. You may be unaware of it, but the M2TM event is getting mentions in the City of Culture bid.
Nope, where are these mentions?

I wonder if the owner just hasn't got a clue what he is doing and has set intonation based on string height...
True, I don't think many of us really understand how much goes into some things. Going back and listening it sounds just like the other Dark glass pedals. IMO of course they all sound the same to me, good but the same.
I think this will sound more like a mic'd Darkglass pedal, certainly replicating a mic'd 3D sound was the aim. They are quite insistent that it is nothing like the B7K's design, I'm very intrigued about it
There are plenty of drive boxes that can also be used as preamps that even have preamp in the name yet don't command prices anywhere near close to that. At the same time how much are Geiger Counter pedals. And I think my Suncoast was nearly £300
On the face of it, it seems expensive compared to their other offerings. I did expect this to be in the B7K price range, but a LOT of work has gone into this unit over the past couple of years with countless prototypes and revisions made. I think it will be something special.

MIDI presets, on a bass amp, seriously?? The most bizzare complaint ever? Alpha Omega's are shipping to UK on Tuesday. Still annoyed that we have got them after Europe and the US, again.

The last image with overlapping winds makes me cringe, almost as much as people who don't cut their strings and let the ends flap around.
Just had a new set of Cobalts delivered and, although probably a bit late, I thought I'd share the info sheet that you get with them.
Really interesting, why do they suggest do that?? Feel like that would be tricky on a headstock with smaller tuning posts.
ok so you got me thinking! about finance mainly ive got a shocking record due to issues with a employer last year so it gets turned down alot, however andertons :-) i can totally afford 30 quid a month for a few months no trouble so A/O is on the way as soon as andertons get them in stock!
Haha, not that I'm a bad influence.....
