1. I had the exact same thing labella strings. If they are the exposed core ones, then the same strings. I read that they sound like that on some basses. I threw the buggers away pretty quickly.
  2.
Cheers for the heads up on this, just got one and it works a treat.
How are you finding the Darkglass bud? I see its replaced the Mesa? I hav just bought a Berg CN212, look forward to giving it a blast with the DG in rehearsal tomorrow
  3. Such a cool instrument. I mean, what can you get better for that kind of money?!! Good luck with the sale
  4.
What is the neck shape like compared to the ABZ and Combustion? I see adverts saying 'new fast shape' type things, but without an explanation of the shape. I've owned an ABZ and quite liked it, but if the neck was a little slimmer front to back then the NG2 might have to go on my list.
I can't quite recall, the NG2 is certainly not slimmer than an ABZ/AB neck, I seem to recall the 'new' shape was actually slimming the old combustion neck to match the ABZ/AB basses. Don't quote me on it as I am not 100%, but it isn't 'slimmer' than an ABZ for sure.

Just met up for a coffee with Dave, first time meeting after years of forum co-existing and had a good natter! Oh, and I also bought a pristine bit of Bergantino kit from him. Cheers bud!
  6. Just completed a very enjoyable deal with Mike for a pair of cabs. Met for a coffee and a natter, pleasure doing business with him. Cheers bud!
  7.
Hello all, I'm currently very tempted to splash the cash on a Darkglass preamp effect. Either the BK3 or BK7. Has anyone got experience of these? I play in a heavy metal band, which requires a lot of distorted sounds. However, I am not happy with losing the true low end power and clarity. Just from researching, the Darkglass products seem to give what I am looking for. If anyone has any other suggestions then please let me know!
I have exclusively used Darkglass B*K circuits for my drive sound with my heavy metal ensemble. Its perfect for it, not an ounce of low end loss of course, clangy distorted goodness that you can have as much and as little of as you like. Clarity is enhanced
  8. Yikes, give them chance to respond but naming would be almost the responsible thing to do, I'd rather not come unstuck! The bass needs to go back, or you need to get a full refund. From your description, they are the only two options, you cannot just accept what they have done. Obviously, your custom order can be used as leverage to sort this at least, but I agree with your concerns about continuing with the commission. Sorry you are having trouble
  9. Steel grill. This is sold, pending usual. I will update when finalized!
  10. Cool basses, nearly picked one up for £300 at bass direct, £200 is a good deal
Bugger. I offered £12.50 and didn't take that into account...
  13. What did you swap them out for, dood? I'm tempted by the P-Tone, trying to visualise what kind of upgrade in sound it would give me.
  14.
someone wanted one of these in the wanted section couple of days ago
Cheers
  15.
Best of luck mate. The only regret I have about taking part in M2TM is winning it two years ago, meaning I can no longer take part! It's a great experience and you get to network with a lot of good bands you might not have had the chance to check out before
Cheers bud. I see you guys are paling Quest Fest next month, I'll be coming along for that!
  16. Recently purchased one of these, however its not going to fit on the board, so I'm going to have to go for something smaller! Brand new, literally unused. Before attempting to return to the shop, thought it worth offering up on here with a nice Basschat friendly discount! WITHDRAWN
EVERYONE needs a dirt pedal for bass!
+10000000000000000000 Particularly with a solid state head!
  18.
You can go down on the FI by double tapping the program up switch. Double tap and hold for fast scrolling downwards.
I can't see that going wrong in live use....
  19. Market seems slow This is a great cab and excels in so many scenarios. These 12 inch speakers are remarkable!
  20.
Just wait for the behringer version that will cost £40
Helpful.... This looks like an interesting piece of kit and, providing the £ price doesn't exceed the $, it looks like a good price too! Haven't checked, but do tech 21 sell power amps to accompany this??
  21. $349 has been confirmed to me by DG.
  22.
a high end Squier doesn't sound 10% as good as a Fender custom shop.
I agree with the comment in isolation, but perhaps not as you intended
