Yeah sounds like you do enjoy the Era knob, however correct settings on the mid controls of the newer Vintage Deluxe can exactly replicate what the Era knob did. Trickier to dial in but all but identical at the right points. Circuits are otherwise the same, apart from general part upgrades and better build quality on the Finnish versions. Tonally there should be no differences.

The Vintage with the toggle switches is certainly the more versatile of the two, the Ultra edition even more so
Very entertaining singer you have. Power metal meets NWOBHM to my ears. Reminds me of being 14 all over again. I work in Coventry, but domestic complications prevent random night out unfortunately. You may be unaware of it, but the M2TM event is getting mentions in the City of Culture bid.
Nope, where are these mentions?

I wonder if the owner just hasn't got a clue what he is doing and has set intonation based on string height...
True, I don't think many of us really understand how much goes into some things. Going back and listening it sounds just like the other Dark glass pedals. IMO of course they all sound the same to me, good but the same.
I think this will sound more like a mic'd Darkglass pedal, certainly replicating a mic'd 3D sound was the aim. They are quite insistent that it is nothing like the B7K's design, I'm very intrigued about it
There are plenty of drive boxes that can also be used as preamps that even have preamp in the name yet don't command prices anywhere near close to that. At the same time how much are Geiger Counter pedals. And I think my Suncoast was nearly £300
On the face of it, it seems expensive compared to their other offerings. I did expect this to be in the B7K price range, but a LOT of work has gone into this unit over the past couple of years with countless prototypes and revisions made. I think it will be something special.

MIDI presets, on a bass amp, seriously?? The most bizzare complaint ever? Alpha Omega's are shipping to UK on Tuesday. Still annoyed that we have got them after Europe and the US, again.

The last image with overlapping winds makes me cringe, almost as much as people who don't cut their strings and let the ends flap around.
Just had a new set of Cobalts delivered and, although probably a bit late, I thought I'd share the info sheet that you get with them.
Really interesting, why do they suggest do that?? Feel like that would be tricky on a headstock with smaller tuning posts.
ok so you got me thinking! about finance mainly ive got a shocking record due to issues with a employer last year so it gets turned down alot, however andertons :-) i can totally afford 30 quid a month for a few months no trouble so A/O is on the way as soon as andertons get them in stock!
Haha, not that I'm a bad influence.....
id love to try one for sure just not sure i wanna sell stuff to free up the cash andy
Do you have Sky? Consider cancelling that for 9 months and taking out the interest free finance at Andertons. Puts into context how much money we can waste on stuff that matters so much less, doesn't it!

Amp test drive; Aguilar, Darkglass, Genzler and Mesa Boogie
Kev replied to Osiris's topic in Amps and Cabs
Great review Regarding the Microtubes circuit in the Darkglass, how it reacts is hugely dependant on what bass goes in. It's also very interactive with the gain knob and switch. -
Another service station meet, this time to buy one of his many Jazz basses! Another enjoyable occasion, cheers buddy!

It seems the initial buzz of these is over and plenty are popping up for sale....so I nabbed one Only picked it up this evening but after a quick nervous neck-off job to tighten the rod a little and a quick set-up to get the action nice and low it seems I have myself a rather wonderful sounding and playing jazz bass. Pickups are punchy and have a wonderful character to them. I haven't owned a Jazz in years and years but it sounds as good as I could have hoped. Really impressed with the relic job too, much much nicer in the flesh than in pictures, much more realistic look and feel to it. I'm looking forward to giving it a crack at volume at my next rehearsal.

I had the same reaction when I fitted a status neck to a Stringray 5. Amazing bass, wonder where it is these days...

The range is pretty straightforward when you look at that page. The only area I don't quite understand is why the ABZ range still exists? Pre-Combustion era it made sense to have a more budget Canadian model, but now I don't really get why it can't just be Combustion and Afterburner.

Best cab I have owned, I just don't use it to its potential! Most gigs I do are fully Pa supported so I can't justify such a high end bit of kit for stage sound. In great condition, couple of scuffs on the bottom as you would expect and a couple of small dings. 2 x 12" Custom Neodymium drivers with 7 oz magnets high intelligibility 1" tweeter custom phase - coherent crossover with tweeter level control Precision tuned 100% Baltic Birch cabinet power handling - 700 watts rms frequency response: tbc sensitivity: tbc db @ 1 Watt/1 meter 2 x 1/4" and 2 x neutrik connectors impedance: 4 ohms dimensions: 31"H x 18-1/2"W x 15"D (79cm x 46cm x 38cm) weight: 46lbs/20 Kgs Padded/fitted cover £70 I have the original heavy duty box so shipping is possible at cost. Just this picture for the moment, as well as those in the previous owner's (OBBM) sale thread here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/299577-bergantino-cn212-sold/page__p__3227535__hl__cn212__fromsearch__1#entry3227535 : Kev
