1. So, Coventry is holding Metal 2 The Masses for the first time and my band Barbikan are performing in the second heat on 2nd February. Would be awesome to see some of you guys come down to watch! If anyone fancies it contact me for a ticket if you would, £5 for an evening filled with local metal talent, can't be bad
2. I just hope the pound improves by the time its released. One would assume it will be B7K/VTD priced, and at the moment they are back up for £285 at Bass Direct. They were £225 when the Ultra series came out
3. Up for the weekend. Need this gone, folks I should be able to source packaging for shipping if needs be, would rather meet for sure but £360 would cover delivery.
4.
Quick NAMM vid https://www.instagram.com/p/BPdrWcYAUJu/
Impossible to draw conclusions off such a video, but it certainly sounds more nasal than the B*K/Vintage
5.
Can this run at 18v?
May be worth asking the question of the guy, my custom Cog has a tweaked knight fall circuit built in and it is internally boosted to 18v. 9v supply powers it, though.
6.
How are people getting on with these? I'm enjoying my Darkglass, but I'm wondering about a change, just because, GAS!
Id be interested to try one. The original Cali76 colours tone too much for me and, after ab'ing, the Darkglass was an easy winner. The compact is apparantly different, but still perhaps more of an effect than a neutral compressor.
7. Ric fingerboards are always a refreshing change from the mundane maple/rosewood/ebony you see on competitors, but that bit of Bubinga(?) is particularly stunning! Really need to try one of these S series basses.
8. That fingerboard is gorgeous!!
9. You must post a price to advertise in these forums, at present these are currently listed for £1 as a job lot (I will take them for that!) Please state an accurate price this evening.
10. Ill be there for sure
11. I'v waited so long for this! So cool to see it finally materialise. Other than the sound sample tease here and there I don't know how it sounds either. Apparently more aggressive than a B7K but at the same time a very different flavour. I can't wait to hear it properly!
12. Excellent compressor. After owning the Cali76, MXR, Diamond, 3Leaf and a number of others, this is the one that stayed on my pedal board.
13. I snapped. I blame whoever it was who suggested the Thomann return policy.
14. Pictures as promised Few enquiries already but still available.
15.
Silver cloth or metal grill? Cheers.
Metal. I'll try and get a picture up tomorrow.
16. Up for sale I have my Barefaced Midget-T cab with roqsolid cover. Fantastic cabinet, very small and light but very loud, the dispersion is superb and it's very solidly built. In perfect working and great cosmetic condition. It is missing a foot on one side, believe the Barefaced site links to the exact part needed for a few quid, and has a few small marks here and there as the pics show.. I never stand it on the side missing the foot so never bothered replacing it This is the Generation Two model with the tweeter. A wonderful often overlooked part of the design is the tweeter attenuator pot being placed at fingers reach inside one of the bass ports in the front. No more reaching awkwardly over the back of the cab to adjust. Ingenious, and I don't think the newer models have this feature anymore . This cab stacks remarkably well with the Gen 3 cabs, and Alex actually commented that this technically works better with a Gen 3 Super Compact than a Gen 2 Compact. Originally selling as I am finding the Super Compact being enough for me on its own with the gigs I am doing (PA Support), however in typical GAS fashion I am now looking at replacing with a BF 2x12 to keep the volume but in a 1 Cab solution, so no trades please unless for a Super 12T or Big Twin II. I may also consider a Big Baby II. £350 firm is what I am after for a quick sale. Located in Leamington Spa, will happily deliver most places for petrol money. Cheers!
17.
Err... Isn't that how opinions work?
Exactly my point
18.
It was a one off and it finally resolved in the customers favour. I don't see the relevance.
It was relevant to Molan's arguement. As usual, every post on here is right and every post on here is wrong, depending on your opinion. As per previous, let's now keep this on topic!
19.
I wasn't aware of any AC issues - PM me the details?
There is a rather infamous Talkbass thread you should check out. Certainly did enough to make me overlook any instrument of theirs going forward!!
20. Oof I really like the idea of this as a backup for the Dingwall. Hmmmmm!
21.
That´s a shame. Bassdirect isn´t possible to visit this time. I´d love to try their second hand purple one with wenge neck....
I have one such Dingwall and it's very, very good, well worth the trip to take a look if you are able to! The purple finish is lovey and the Wenge neck is gorgeous.
22.
It's not strange at all Chris, just basic integrity. We won't stock anything that we don't believe has a basic level of quality and that we can stand behind. Our reputation rests on supplying decent quality goods that we know will perform well, won't break and won't deteriorate rapidly. Too many customers with extremely bad experiences in terms of quality control and build for us to be able to sell them as a reputable dealer
I thought you stocked alleva coppolo??
