That´s a shame. Bassdirect isn´t possible to visit this time. I´d love to try their second hand purple one with wenge neck....
I have one such Dingwall and it's very, very good, well worth the trip to take a look if you are able to! The purple finish is lovey and the Wenge neck is gorgeous.

Advice welcome - Bergantino HD210 or Barefaced Big Baby 2
It's not strange at all Chris, just basic integrity. We won't stock anything that we don't believe has a basic level of quality and that we can stand behind. Our reputation rests on supplying decent quality goods that we know will perform well, won't break and won't deteriorate rapidly. Too many customers with extremely bad experiences in terms of quality control and build for us to be able to sell them as a reputable dealer
I thought you stocked alleva coppolo?? -
Get it from Thomann. If you don't like it send it back. Distance selling is the bomb. But do not send it back until you have downloaded and messed with these patches - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B2_tqOG3lexBb0dMYTluOTczZUE
That's a really good point, actually. Damn you for planting that seed!!!!!
£322 on Thomann at the moment. £360 direct. https://www.thomann.de/gb/panda_audio_future_impact_i.htm?ref=search_prv_3
That's a tiny bit better, still far over what I would want to pay for one (remember when Deep Impacts were £85??). Did the issue with the finish peeling off and the notchless pots get resolved at any point?

Bergantino - probably the most common 'boutique' cabinet in the for sales sections on this site. Somewhat at contrast to a couple of posts in this thread! There always seems to be one for sale. -
same here, i have been wanting to switch between all 3 settings, just adding different levels of drive is useful especially using the VMT when just wanting to thicken things up when a dual lead harmony is going on and then still have the ability go full on b3k to make any particular parts jump out of the mix. yeah a separate eq would be great but to be honest the drive section sounds great without the need for it for me.
I use different EQ, Drive and Blend settings from my fave B3K tone and Vintage, as such I rarely use the Vintage circuit as it isn't practical for me. But, if you do use the same settings for both, I can certainly see the footswitch's uses.
-
Yes, I'm saying 3 will do it for almost all scenarios. Clean/Dirt, B3K/VMT, Mute. I agree that in the four switch format it may require one less stomp if the switching is automatic, to go B3K - Clean - VMT. Do we think stomping on a B3K or VMT switch will automatically switch dirt on? If so, I get it now I didn't look at it that way I would not have a use for it anyway as I like the tiny footprint of the included footswitch and I would never use the B3K and Vintage with the same settings.
-
To avoid any confusion here, you cannot run the B3K AND the vintage circuit with the new switch, it is still one or the other and pressing one switch turns the other off. This is why I don't understand why they need to be separate switches, function would be basically identical with one , just smaller and simpler?
-
Presumably because some will want to use 3 tones in a tune. Cycling 3 usually means having to go past 1 you don't want at that time. It also means having to change ahead of the beat too.
I don't understand this. If you have a clean switch, and a second switch that switches between B3K and Vintage, how will having 3 switches make changing sounds easier?
Its marketing.

Yes and no. It's intelligent compared to other footswitches as it uses a standard guitar cable to send specific signals for the microcontroller in the amp to interpret. Not sure what makes it SUPER intelligent though...
Because the standard footswitch is the Intelligent Footswitch. Intelligent Footswitch 2 doesn't really have the same ring... One thing I want to pick Doug's brain about is why he went for a four switch foot pedal. I don't see any reason why the Vintage and B3K switches needed to be separate. One switch that just operated like the switch on the amp would work, and a smaller footprint as a result.
The Barefaced 12 inch driver is a wonder. Sound wise, little comparison to the Bergantino CN112 I had, Barefaced beat it on everything but build quality (Super Compact is what I am talking about). If you want performance, Barefaced is certainly the way to go. However, what I would say is a 2x10 and a 1x12 are different beasts. I would never choose a 2x10 over a 1x12. I would look at comparing the Barefaced to a 12 inch (or 2x12) Berg.
Just to follow this up, I was not a fan of the Gen 1 / Gen 2 Barefaced cabs when I first tried them, genuinely underwhelmed. It is the Gen 3 models with the new driver that stepped things up. I do still use a Gen 2 Super Midget occasionally as it does sound good with the SC. -

Be interested to try one. Same price level as the Dingwall Combustions so stiff competition, but only really comparable with their Super J/ Super P which of course is very much more expensive. I am not entirely sold on the concept of fanned frets at that kind of scale length, though. Amazingly useful for lower tunings and a strong 5th string at the full 37-34 inch fan, not sold on the usefulness and effectiveness of a fan from 34.5 to 32.5, although this is actually a longer scale than the Dingwall Super J/P!

Cool, just not sure what you would use it for really. Coffee shop gigs or similar perhaps? From what I have read a drummer would render it a no-no.

SOLD: Gromtech Aminato (Human Gear Animato clone)

I really want to hear a pro review of this. I mean, the spec and the pricetag are a COMPLETE mismatch. This looks much nicer than the Ibby fanned fret effort (they got the nut right) and its so cheap!

Sold,Barefaced. Big baby gen3 with fitted cover.

That birdseye model is absolutely gorgeous.
i cant seem to find a price for the bag anywhere
Only just announced, sure prices will be along shortly. I doubt Ill get it if it is on a par with other amp branded bags price wise, however if its reasonable I certainly will. My backpack is padded and a surprisingly good fit and works just fine, so I don't technically need it.

I get so confused by threads like this....

I'd guess the 4x8 or I otherwise don't really get the point of this thread How did you measure how much air is 'moved'?
Anyone built one of these? http://schalltechnik04.de/en/kits
Sounds quite good actually , but a good deal fuzzier than the B3K from that video. Not too much of a likeness. I wonder if its is closer to that 3Leaf Darkglass clone that took aspects of the Vintage and B3K for theirs.
Makes you wonder why we have to pay so much for the original.... don't get me wrong I absolutely love my B7K (and B3K before it) and Fuzz, but have always felt they were a tad on the expensive side.
I always get a little confused by comments like this. Somebody can clone a pedal relatively cheaply, so why pay the boutique inventor so much? Hours upon hours upon hours of R&D, designing the circuit, discarding prototypes, all the while not earning a penny for their work, before eventually having a working product. Then, turn that fully working prototype into an end product that can be produced at reasonable volume by your small team, whilst paying them a fair wage . How else do they get the lost income back during the months or years of designing? How else pay for the team, the workshop rent, all the other overheads? Remember, we are not talking about Roland, Digitech etc, we are talking about small handbuilt units. {most} cloners takes a design at its final stage and their costs are simply production, at a rate they can change to order i.e. they will never be out of pocket from the start and as such can sell at a price that will see them make a moderate profit. The smaller ones like this will probably not have a huge workshop, probably don't have a large team of staff to pay and probably wouldn't have bothered making the clone if any period of loss was involved. Some don't even build the things and just sell kits instead! As it happens, Darkglass prices have continually dropped and dropped ever since they launched the B3K and Harmonic Booster at some £250 each (the current B3K is £199, and that is with the current comparatively awful exchange rate). The latest Ultra series launched at the same price as the Deluxe/B7K series were selling for only months earlier. The amp is, by all accounts, remarkably prices when you consider its specifications and its competitors. Fair play to them
Unnatural looking wood? Now I've heard everything!
I wont show you my buckeye burl topped bass then.... It adds character, its what wood is. The replacement will, naturally, have other blemishes in other places. However, if there were other cosmetic marks, then yeah send it back as that isn't natural Difference with me here is a ) I would NEVER spend that kinda money for an off the shelf instrument; b ) Especially a Fender! and c ) Especially unseen
