    I love the Microbass II, been using it live and at home for recording for years. I'm really surprised that they've left out the Speaker Sim to be honest, I think it's great.

    Which amp ? The only fanless set-up is what I have going at home, which is an EBS Microbass II running into a 100W power amp. It's very quiet (and also not very loud) hence my interest in slightly more elegant solutions to a fanless amp.

    Yes, I have a TE head with no fan for just this reason. Aside from older stuff like this, are there any modern heads that are fanless ?

    Not always a realistic approach for home practice when one is concerned about not annoying neighbours, which is when I find fan noise most distracting.

    Very good condition, a little swirling but no chips. Was velcroed on the bottom, but I removed that and cleaned the base with alcohol so now looking very clean. No box or bits, which is how I bought it. I'll pop it into a suitable box for postage. £25 posted in the UK

    It was ? Fair enough, I remember the Customs as definitely not bolt on, but I may have got confused. Thanks for the correction.

    The NS2000/4 is neck-through. I think only the Legend Customs were a neck-through design, if that's something you want to bear in mind. (May not be right...see below !) I bought an NS2000/4 recently and it's a lovely bass. Very pleased with it, although I replaced the pickups in mine.

    I'd get the Gotoh, for the groovy reason and also you'll always wonder about what difference the Gotoh would have made and end up buying one anyway. That may must be me though

    It's not true bypass, no. I also think it changes the tone when bypassed, but I've only noticed at home, not at volume.

    Yep, me too. In as much as I was aware of it, think I'd assumed it was a guitar playing the more audible high end stuff.
