  1. OK. I'm still not sure I understand, but I suspect I'm not supposed to. Thanks for posting the video though 👍
  2. Where's the video ? I'd be grateful if someone would post a link. Not sure why, but I'm oddly curious as to how this turns out.
  3. I'd go for the wenge one...but with the scratchplate.
  4. Yay ! That's great. Do you neighbours know yet ?
  5. Or ignore oneself, despite how ontologically stimulating it might be.
  6. Advice I didn't think I'd be getting today.
  7. Rumble Seat ? Groovestool ? Vibr-o-Perch ?
  8. Ah, if the video's in the advert I can't see it, prolly explain a lot !
  9. OK, thanks. Now, I understand what is going on, not sure about why. Nothing new there really.
  10. I don't understand.
  11. YOU. WILL. GO. BLIND. (Great idea !)
  12. I did yes, I work with a couple of friends like that - just pass the tune over and add what you think fits. It's a lot of fun.
  13. I really enjoyed both of those. The second one is something else.....a really involving piece of music. I was quite away with the faeries toward the end
  14. Here's my three electrics. A Gretsch Electromatic given to me by a very very good friend of mine for my 50th birthday. My first electric guitar - an E-series '80s Squire Tele and a '96-'97 Fender Jaguar (Charvel acoustic not included in shot)
  15. Never mix them on the same axle
  16. Keep at it, sometimes leaving a song to sit for a while and then coming back to it is just what's needed. Be interesting to hear how the other tunes turn out. It's without doubt one of the most interesting pieces of music I've heard on BC for a while, keep at it BB.
  17. :) No, more having a squeeky singing voice and bad technique !
  18. Having just tried it out, I put my thumb over he top of the neck when I'm playing the thin strings down near the nut, the rest of the time it's behind. But then I'm not an actually really good bass player, I'm like Geddy Lee
  19. "I wanna go where there's a Western show" Nicely and rockingly done.
  20. Could you record the bass direct and then re-amp it ? You'd only need to have the bass loud once (theoretically) as you'd have the take the way you wanted it before you used the amp, rather than having to have the amp loud every time you did a take. Might be a problem if you're recording a 25 minute opus, but for a short song you might be able to get away with rattling the furniture for just a short while !
  21. This was what crossed my mind. If I have ideas I only really send out a basic drum pattern, bass and just enough guitar to give an idea of what the chords are. Everything else I leave to the band or people I'm working with. Also, I'd feel a bit deluged by 24 ideas. If I'd come up with that many ideas (if only !), I'd be inclined to send them out in groups of 3 or 4 - much less daunting for the recipients. Not everyone can come up with parts they're happy with quickly. It can take some time to mull ideas over.
  22. I've been using this one (well, a different brand name, but still the same model) for quite a while. I don't if it counts as 'mid-level' but it does me fine. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0719H8T8Q I bought it to handle the SMT components in a pedal kit and it worked a treat for that and also for larger jobs like wiring pots. I bought a selection of (cheapish) tips as well.
  23. I think they do more than one show at the same time, so whilst you're listening to 'Smoke on the Water' on Planet Rock, they put their posh voice on and introduce some Mozart on Classic FM.
