Has anyone got or tried the Korg Kaoscillator /pro?
gilmour replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Effects
I've got a kaossilator, kaossilator pro and an iKaossilator (ipad version) Awesome toys. I use them all the time. Tbh whilst the kaossilator is the one I've used the most thats only because I've had it the longest. If I were you I'd buy the iPad version (also on iPhone). The pro has a bit more functionality - effects, vocoder, can take samples but unless you're using it a lot it's not £260 better Also worth pointing out this in the effects section and these aren't effects they're synths but the pro dies have a handful of effects. If that's what you want you need a kaoss pad -
I've found boling to them can add a bit of Ing back, but it doesn't last as long and they do seem to break more easily afterwards. Best results I had for putting the zing back in was, IIRC, some switch cleaner (like you buy form Maplins) although it may have been Isopryl Alcohol.
The bass player in Goldfrapp used an an acrylic Precision. The body and headstock were see through but the neck itself looked like wood (I think).
It was made by Crimson Guitars, there's a very detailed build diary of it on his site, here's one page: http://crimsonguitars.com/workshop-diary/2008/01/page/11

I have similar equinox system, reviewed in detail here. I really like our rig it looks awesome, was affordable and easily transported but wish I'd spent the little extra on the Kam stuff as the cases are better and the stands sturdier. That said ours has been used every week for the last 18 months, and makes a massive difference to the show.
That is remarkably polished for a home recording, personally I think your bass sounds fine. Good job!
Thanks, I'm very pleased with how it sounds. To be fair as all the band are pro or so pro players we do have access to some nice kit and managed to blah a load of nics for the recording (that made a huge difference) if you are wanting to do home recordings then I'd say investing in or borrowing some decent mics is essential Still want to retract the bass - its just not bassy enough

I've been doing an 'originals' project lately where we've been recording. For us the process was: - DI guitar and bass, keys straight into the computer, two overheads on the kit, then vocals. - We recorded all of that live (to a click but we play to a click anyway). - This was mixed into a quick guide track - We then went back and have taken our time re-recording each instrument individually (muting it on the guide as we did so) - Once we've re-recorded everything we put on overdubs etc. and any extra parts we want to put on. I'm pretty pleased with the results. We're in the middle of mixing it atm, you can hear it here if you're interested. Although my Stingray sounds too much like a stingray so I may re track the bass when I have a weekend free.

Awesome, I want to do this with a Stingray 5 - but you don't see those bodies up for sale so often

Good to deal with Martin, quick hassle free transaction. Nice one.

I think honouring any bgigs already booked, but also helping find a replacement is always a good way to part amicably.

Hi, I have a Boss TU2 for sale, it has a back story... There's some sort of intermittent fault with the pedal. It works fine 90% of the time, but every now and then there is a little loss in volume, almost like a lead isn't plugged in quite right or is a little loose. Give the output lead a wiggle or the pedal a kick and it's fine. I don't know about such things but I expect a new output socket would solve the problem as that seems to be where the issue is. However as I'm gigging all the time at the moment I decided not to DIY it, but instead to splash out on something new and exciting, so I've upgraded the pedal to a Boss TU3 If you are a little electrically minded then I imagine this will be a fairly easy fix if not then it is still a functioning pedal, just with an annoying fault. It's in VGC condition and still in the box. It does have velcro on the bottom, but I can remove that. Given the fault I'm asking £20 +p&p Any interest?
Excellent piece of kit Rob for a great price! I could be wrong, but people seem a little unsure of BFM designs because they look different.... Such a shame as they really deliver the goods
I know what you mean, I found it a little off putting at first, but grew to like the quirkiness. On this however I did make an inch deep rebate all around the front edge as my original intention was to add in a grill. If anyone wanted to do that it would be very straightforward to do. Here's an old pic of what I mean...

The Eminence Kappalite is rated at 450W @ 8 ohms, so that's the power handling. However it's worth noting that because the cab has a three way crossover in it it's is very efficient and I've never needed to go anywhere near the max power. On a separate note, I really like the Omni 10.5's, this will go a lot lower and it's usable on it's own in louder situations (where you may want 2 10.5s). Because this is the tall boy version a 10.5 will sit on top of it nicely, and the two cabs do work together (although you'd have to be in a very loud bnd to need both). Of course my old amp went down to 2 ohms, and I have 2 10.5's as well, it had to be tried.... Monster, but I don't think I'll be doing many stadium gigs anytime soon.
