Bump ...
Cosmo Valdemar tried to buy this bass but you messed him around and eventually declined to sell it to him... (?!) He's now got himself a lovely Elite-1, anyway, Oh, also - please align yourself with the genuine facts of all things SB before you troll somebody's for sale thread with cynicism, just like I'm doing right now. Good luck with the sale............. Bump.
 2. Wow great bass!! Never seen one before. What's the tone comparable to?

 4.
Both the R60 and the Elite I were 18/40 versions of the SB700. The R60 was in production between '80 and '83, and the Elite I between '83 and '88, so it's hard to argue that the Elite I is more limited than the R60.
noelk27, the SB Elites were made between early 1983 and summer 1986, compared to the SB-R60 from 79-82.... Also, the Elite series (including Black N Gold) were marketed directly at US customers, it was distributor preference whether to take limited batches of Elites for the EU or not, and believe me - not many did. Gigsville in the UK imported a tens of Elites compared to scores of SB-R60s, -80s and set-neck SB600 because solid colour basses, at the time, were not selling so well in the UK. So, ergo, it is rather straight forward to argue that the SB Elite I/II's are rarer in the UK, actually... (I bought mine from Japan!)
