NOW £ 1500 My very rare and simply amazing bass is up for grabs. Warwick Stryker Mahogany. A very rare opportunity to own a bass made in collaboration with the John Entwistle Estate to celebrate his contribution to the world of Bass and his design relationship with the Warwick bass company in Germany. Made in very little numbers this bass is the Mahogany version which has awesome mahogany wings on a Maple and Ebony striped through neck. The resonance given off by this bass has to to felt to be believed, its almost alive!!! The headstock is another rare feature as these were issued with the standard Warwick paddle headstock but a very small number were given the 'Entwistle Beak' which makes this bass not only ultra sexy but a true rarity. It has Gold hardware and sports the not so standard 3 band EQ MEC reverse P pick up configuration. The bass is currently strung with brand new Optima 24ct Gold Strings as used by The Ox himself. It plays fast and strong with a great evenness of tone across the strings. It balances perfectly with no 'neck dive' and this is one serious bass that cuts through the mix like an absolute beast and much like its partner in crime (The Buzzard) can offer devastating tones alongside light nuances and harmonics. The bass is in excellent play worn condition with very slight marking and evidence of the neck strap pin being moved. Warwick say: With the full support of the John Entwistle estate, Warwick is proud to introduce the Stryker, which is a design that John made popular both with the Who and on his solo projects. The Stryker features a mahogany body and neck-thru design. This bass is truly a beautiful piece of art. Art that rocks, that is! The Stryker comes loaded with active MEC Gold P-style pick-ups, installed in the familiar “mirror image” manner that John favored. Inside the control cavity you will find an active MEC 3-band preamp that perfectly supports the blend of spectacular tone woods that this bass features. The Stryker is the total package when it comes to a bass that plays as great as it looks. Weighs just under 11lbs on my electronic scales & comes equipped with a Warwick gigbag and strap locks. Value on a trade this bass should be around the £2k mark but im happy to go with a price drop to £1600 Im looking for an interesting 4, 5 or 6 string bass.....Warwick , Mike Lull, Spector kind of thing This bass is a killer and is only available because Ive got a flock of Buzzards and they are very similar except for the ergonomics. http://s1189.photobucket.com/user/Col4string/library/Warwick%20Stryker

Mustaine used the Jackson KV with two long points. Anthrax used these RR ones early on but they seem to few and far between. I think Andy Sneap (Sabbat) used one but I think it was a Fernandes, it was a long time ago. I bought for nostalgic reasons and its now just a wall ornament. Not fair on the wood that grew etc etc
At the minute every bass I look at is overpriced because I can't afford what I want. As for fodera I was offered one a while ago before I bought my mike lull but I was hesitant because I didn't know if it was out of my league and I'd look stupid playing a bass like that as badly as I do. But. I played a fender made in China jaguar at lunchtime today and nearly bought it until I thought about all the impulse buys that crashed and burned in the past. It knocked lumps bumps and spots off the p and j mim hanging beside them at 200 quid more. All depends on expectation, the setup of the bass, the amp and the sound you want to hear. Why spend 5000 quid on a bass though to get a p and a j sound when you can spend 1500 quid on two real USA basses. A precision and a jazz.....? I am guilty of this previously so I am merely lamenting my own stupidity here not pickin a fight with anyone. I'm gonna sell my mike lull tc5 and buy the jaguar. Anybody want a cheap TC5 ?
Trade???

I use these guys for all enhanced insurance. They specialise in cargo insurance and are not too bad cost wise. The guy I speak to is Peter Williams who sort it all very quickly. You can then use you regular courier with some peace of mind that your properly covered. For instance: Ive sent to Hungary / Spain / Greece and USA. http://www.the-insurance-broker.com -

There is an effective process of striping the hardware and electrics, using scotchbrite pads for dirt and swear etc and then a light all over sanding and Wax. I did it to an old streamer of mine ages ago and it worked a treat, the bass looked a million dollars afterwards. Have a search through the repairs section, its there somewhere. Sorry i can't be more specific. Good luck

Im having random thoughts about how great life would be if I had a Mike Lull 5 string Thunderbird in Black. All my problems would disappear. Mind you, they ( my problems ) promised to do that once i'd bought my first Warwick.

Sounds like he didnt have it set to give out bottom end, if you need bottom end on a Warwick its there. Its German made which should give you an idea how it works. The tools are there but youve got to know how to use them. Never even heard of a W bass without growl n balls n lots of bottom, it may be faulty or programmed wrong.

A huge amount of Love from me. Ive been a mahoosive fan since I ordered my first Fortress in 97, swiftly followed by matching fretted and fretless Thumbs ( wedding gift) ive been on a 15 yr journey of GAS and always landed a Warwick. I'm pretty sold on my collection now and am toying with exchanging one for a 5 string. As time goes on its getting harder and harder to choose so my little savings pot is being replenished as often as I can. I cant say enough about MEC as they have given me zero hassles, hardware is rocksolid and the truss works a treat. A Class Act IMO Vampyre missing from this pic. I love them all

Wonder if this could be converted to play right handed? That would surely be the weirdest bass in the world. Not many of these around!!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warwick-John-Entwistle-Buzzard-Bass-Left-Handed-/300980072740?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4613cf7124
